  1. You generally don't use question marks when you are not expecting an answer.
  2. I still have an old pair of hemp pants, the fibers are so tough you can weave it into fabric. Too much of anything is a bad idea, and we are already dealing with the effects of alcohol abuse, like Hurlshot said, disfunctional families, drunk drivers etc. But whats to be done about that, bringing back prohibition ?. If we didn't use so many resources policing drugs we could more effectively do something about those secondary effects. As it is we are presenting an easy avenue for people to make money illegally which we do our best to band aid with policing. Making most drugs legal is the better structural choice, but the public does not agree, certainly not those who typically vote.
  3. I'm not sure I take your point. Excepting maybe drugs that make the user psychotic with long time use, such as meth and ppc, the drugs themselves don't hurt anyone. The majority of the violence comes from users who produce crime to support their habit, as well as the providers who war over production facilities and create political and social instability (for instance south American cartels or the Taliban) and low end dealers beefing over territory. It seems to me one could make a whole lot of criminals of various bent unemployed with one fell swoop. Educators should be tasked with providing medically accurate information about harmful drugs, and there should be a legal age just like there is with alcohol, adults should be left alone to make their own informed choices.
  4. It's fundamentally undemocratic and contrary to personal liberty that the government has to interfere with what you chose to use as recreational drug. If it wasn't illegal we could use all those resources that are pissed away every year on things like rehabilitation and providing real unbiased information about the dangers of a given drug. The world would not end if you let people be responsible for their own lives.
  5. I propose making the 3 point area a little more interesting.
  6. The trailer doesn't tell me what kind of game it is. Space marines look cool on a tabletop, and really stupid up close, and I'm tired of their Warhammer RTSs now.
  7. Anyone else think the aliens looked a little goofy, the CGI a little dodgy ?. I suppose there is still post production, and that it might not be what it will look like, but still.
  8. you know you had 8 weapon quickslots too right? once i started using those, switching weapons was never a hassle. I didn't. The game controls screen didn't deem it fit to inform me that they existed.
  9. Don't you have a bunch of dogs, what are you worried about Coyotes for ?
  10. That was Sam Raimi... Jeez. If he was a horse they would have shot him.
  11. Switching weapons ought to be improved, the pipboy is just adequate as an inventory, but having only the pipboy to equip weapons, that's just bad design. Since you typically carry dozens of weapons for repair mouse wheeling won't work. How about scrolling through a melee slot, a pistol slot, rifle slot and a big guns slot instead, and have the weapon degradation at a more reasonable pace so you don't have to micromanage repairs every time you fired off a few shots.
  12. I don't get it, the footage shows shooting civilians, yes, but how do we know the player is playing the mission and not just shooting things to admire the rag-dolling, bored because there is no one shooting back...
  13. I need a new drive as well I, I have several OS, Ubuntu, two different versions of windows, one 64 and one 32 bit installed on the same drive. This is not a very good idea, and will probably end in misery. Whats the best value for money SSD these days ?
  14. Looks cool, I'd play the game. Maybe this time the person(s) responsible for fundamental functionality and ease of use in design and gameplay won't have quite so many brain hemorrhages.
  15. I just used the basic raider badlands armor, nice skin and theres spares everywhere, until I found the combat armor that gives extra APs, I used that for the rest of the game, although it was 100% damaged several times. Fortunately the merchants have combat armor. In any case you are better off using inventory space on weapons than on armor that's doing to disintegrate regardless. Just use what the majority of the enemy is wearing and toss it when you need the space.
  16. I understand it's common to do some damage while doing CPR, theres a rib cage and you really have to hammer away for that pressure to translate to the heart, but can you kill anyone while performing CPR. Say if you haven't detected a weak pulse and respiration.
  17. I thought the spirit eater thing was enormously annoying. I too dislike time trials intensely. Maybe it's the way it was introduced, at the end of the intro dungeon as a wall of text carrying new rules and an annoying addition to your HUD. I would have preferred a conscious choice A, become a spirit eater and accept that you were going to go through the game always looking for the next meal, or B. Resist and never hear of it again. Sure after you had played the game a while you realized that you could resist and suffer only minimal consequences, but first impressions and the first playthrough should be of the greatest importance.
  18. Well philosophically doing nothing is just as much an action as doing something. That is to say both choices carry unique results. In these legal instances it would depend on whether there was any physical threat to yourself. i.e. if you watched a 6 year old strangle another 6 year old and did nothing, that would carry with it the most extreme result imaginable. Your inaction would make you accomplice to murder.
  19. The article says he didn't kill anyone, but allowed a baby to be killed and stood by without doing anything. Completely lacking a sense of moral, sure, but a demonstrable threat in the future. That's not so certain, and that was the legal question regarding his sentence.
  20. First step would be to remove their profiles so the husband can access the files they want to backup, next would be reinstalling.
  21. What about fraud, don't you have to produce picture id. I understand it's pretty common to just borrow a card from someone ensured and pretend to be that person.
  22. The only paperwork I've had to fill out for the NHS as long as I can remember is signing my name to acknowledge receipt of medicine. They just asked me to swipe my card, either that or state my social security number.
  23. When the characters spend all their time reacting to a threat that the viewer knows, with absolute certainly, is false. That's not a good thing.
  24. It's for kids, nothing interesting about the characters or the story. The CGI isn't bad though, and they manage to move things along just fast enough to keep you from getting bored.
  25. Apparently being hung like a donkey is a problem.
