For data security a raid configuration would be preferable. Your data would exist on any number of drives simultaneously, and load times improve. One HDD is certainly not enough. I haven't got raid on my desktop but I keep a folder on all my drives with stuff I don't want to lose to a chance failure. Drives are pretty inexpensive nowadays anyways.

Depends on what case you have, some allow you to pop the drives out with very little hassle, other you need to unscrew everything first. Unless you plan on taking the drive with you regularly there is no need to pay extra for a USB HD.

The big problem was that the quest markers seemed to stop working propperly while in the metro, showing a way ahead where there was none, pointing the wrong way, etc, which meant lots and lots of wading aimlessly about.

In the old days before rampant movie piracy, waiting 6 months for a movie to finally arrive in the theaters Europe was not uncommon. Now I can't fathom why people would bother downloading something filmed directly off the screen with a camcorder, but apparently enough do that the distributers have been shaken out of their complacancy and generally release movies more or less at the same time. I can't say I'm unhappy with the outcome. I suspect that the same effect is going to happen with TV shows. The producers will realise that they must make their show available or lose out. The end result will benifit the consumer.

But how do you get it to run reliably. Can you do a network install if the OS needs to be replaced ?. I'm guessing it's an OEM. Maybe you could boot an OS off a USB stick if you got really creative. On the positive side it looks very cheap for something with an alienware sticker on it. How good is the GFX, is there value for money here. Is a screen like that tolerable. 1366x768 sounds a bit oddball, would probably not run very much in native resolution ?. Congratulations!
