  1. Erh, get pummelled almost to submission before developing air escorts with range enough to cover the whole convoy route ? Air power is arguably one of the reasons we are not winning the battle for hearts and minds. Smart bombs are great when you have good intelligence, drop them in the middle of a large engagement without being entirely sure who's who however, and civilians still get killed at alarming rates.
  2. Lost interest
  3. I don't do the face book thing, so I have no collection of narcissistic black and white studies. I have some plastic in my wallet with my picture on, but no scanner. Chap ass notebook doesn't have a webcam. Whenever my photo-buff friend tries to sneak a shot off I flail my arms frantically, he's got a whole bunch of me like that.
  4. Not to mention that the Viet Cong had considerable popular support. I don't know that there exists an inexhaustible will to continue fighting until the western powers give up and go home among the population.
  5. They did... They did.
  6. Expendables. Wow, getting so many A list and B movie stars to phone it in, I just didn't think it possible. I didn't even stick around for the ending. The scene with Arnold was bizarre, were they even in the same room, or did they blue screen it..... What little there was of Dolph Lundgren was the highlight, but he's dead now, so the sequel can go suck eggs. The scenes with Rourke and Stallone were pretty funny though, they are some of Hollywood's worst mumblers. You were constantly doing a mental 'What ?, speak up man !'
  7. No one would have given Joseph Smith the time of day if he had shown up today talking about God and Jesus revealing to him that the native Americans were descendants of Israel.
  8. Awesome thread.
  9. I'm just guessing here, but there are going to be a lot more new hunter/gatherers than there are going to be natural resources to support them. No, we'd be eating each other inside a month.
  10. That's where you are wrong, the Taliban can run the country with an iron fist regardless of popular support levels. They did once remember.
  11. But we are fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan, not an abstract noun. We don't pretend that winning means defeating the whole of militant Islamism.
  12. Defeating the Taliban is not an abstract, it's not a hopeless endeavour , it's just difficult.
  13. By the way it's been suggested that we can't win, and that therefore we should negotiate with the Taliban. The notion seems to be gaining ground in our little Danish political weather system, and I actually found myself defending the war. Must be a first. Yes you can win against an irregular opponent, it just takes a long time, in the case of Afghanistan probably a very long time. The important question is : 'what's the alternative.'
  14. I found out something shocking in that link. Apparently Machete is bad. So depressing http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?.../DDNL1F71JV.DTL
  15. His manifesto mentions how he wants Discovery Channel to promote sterilization and infertility. To stop idealizing birth and the birthing process. And keeps referring to human offspring as some equivalant of filthy. Ahh, your basic eco terrorist nutter crying about mother earth and whatnot. How banal.
  16. What's an 'anti baby' agenda anyway
  17. My photoshop mojo is not inconsiderable, I'll do it if no one else bothers carrying it through.
  18. Is that wise, I mean you might get fed out with the engine, stretch it a little.
  19. Welcome newbie. Today I beat the windows chess thingie on level 6, which almost qualifies as an achievement. I was hampered by not being able to unnerve my opponent which is usually how I beat my siblings. Now for six hours of work- drudgery.
  20. I'm sure the game makers would rather get paid twice than once but that's neither here nor there. Does a TV maker have any control of who his flat screen get's re-sold to, does he expect to get paid again. I don't care that a game cost almost nothing to duplicate once it's finished. The game producers might get an enormous bulge in the gentleman's region over earning potential only to be depressed by reality, but they are hardly alone there. The law says fair use includes re-sale and its not even a tiny bit unfair to anyone when people do it.
  21. I think I threw my copy out, I had left it by the window and the sun must have baked the disk good cause it couldn't get all the way through the installation. Steam is made for a slob like me.
  22. Seems like a lot more work than drawing one yourself.
  23. mhahahhahahaahaahha. brilliant

Ellington Indigos. It's very stylish. Bigbands are so much better without a crooner front man.
  25. Ah, you must be a youngin' HoMM is not M&M, just a spin-off with a different genre. I am basically of the opinion that anything pre Amiga, and by that I mean DOS graphics, is a waste of time. Why do people torture their eyes like that. I'm not a graphics whore or anything but if you are going to play something more advanced than Pong or Space Invaders you need a certain minimum level.
