  1. For me, weight restrictions made the first two pea shooters I got the only ones I used, those and the rapid fire sniper rifle since most opponents are staggered my multiple hits. I also dislike how they handle weapon kick. In ME2 your reticule would snap back to its immediate previous position after a hit or long burst, without it, those constant small adjustment are a pain to make with the mouse especially since I use a rather slow setting for maximum accuracy. This makes any weapon with a strong kick undesirable.
  2. I have always had a hard time detecting irony in type.
  3. Yeah go for SSD, I couldn't live without it now.
  4. Rainbow six is kinda pointless as another generic cover based shooter. The first few games set up the action extremely well and even let you plan out the entire mission with waypoints. The briefing was a major component. Now it's more or less terrorists have attacked ..whatever... go there and duck behind tables while you wait for them to reload.
  5. Free time kinda implies that you are alive to experience it.
  6. No wait, that's deep space nine. Anyway it still sufferes from being a sci fi series from before they could convinicingly make them. The effects and design are painfully bad.
  7. You forgot Babylon 5, which is probably the biggest influence on Mass Effect. Nobody watched Babylon 5. Well maybe the Mass Effect writers. Anyway I tend to group it with Star Trek, same makeup artists. In terms of the setting, tone, and story, Mass Effect has a lot in common with Babylon 5. You have humans being newcomers to the galactic community but becomes powerful very quickly. Every race in the galaxy use FTL technology left behind by an ancient unknown race. A lot of advances in technology is gained from reverse engineering tech left by alien races. There's an intergalactic UN but unlike the Federation in Star Trek, there is a lot of conflict and backstabbing between the various factions. There's a pro-human/earth conspiracy backed by powerful shady corporations. Aliens tampered with the evolution of various species across the galaxy. There's an ancient evil that sows chaos and destruction across the galaxy every few thousand years. The protagonist tries to convince all the races to unite and combat the threat but everyone is too concerned with their own problems to care. Various people want to exploit the technology of the ancient evil, including secretive human factions and corporations. This is also met with disastrous results. Voyager had a cameo though, and I remember seeing an Enterprise style dish starship. Isn't it the Star Trek universe wth a few extra species thrown in.
  8. You only rem sleep for 20-30 mins, the rest of the time you might as well be dead.
  9. Not getting any DLCs. I'm not ideologocally opposed to them or anything, I just don't like the feeling of being taken for a ride. Huge success for EA getting 40% of people to go along with it, also showcases the futility of trying to do anything about it. This is how it's going to be from now on. The 'real' version is going to be 25% extra. Finished the game, not bad. Although I didn't agree with the finality of everything. I would have prefered being able to truck around after having finished the main mission, but I guess the story desperately needed a conclusion.

  11. Actually if you work 8 hours and sleep 8, that just leaves another 8. Factor in chores and whatever crap life throws at you that day and free time becomes less than 1/3
  12. Almost done. It's like they took The Matrix, Serentiy, Star Trek and Battlestar Gallactica threw them in a pot, and gave it a good shake. Pleasantly surprised though. For all the raving it's a good game.
  13. No they sit around for two, pretend for two, and work for four.
  14. I think the ME3 faces are lower poly, the surface textures are smaller at least. If you fiddle around long enough you can get it tolerable.
  15. Google tells me it was the Wachowski brothers. Surely not.
  16. Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without. Who was that again, Nietzsche ?
  17. I quite like it so far. Not using biotics on my squad as they make everything a bit too easy. The barebones game feels complete enough, doesn't bother me. Without being specific ;the dream cutscenes are anoying, too much on the nose. Also, this may differ depending on your choices, but it seems like an epedemic of NPC last stands and charging off to die in a blaze of glory.
  18. What are the technical limitations of making pixels that small I wonder, and why don't they use those tiny tiny pixels on their big screens.
  19. Yes, but the posts got lost behind all these posts about transvestite trolls or something. 1st impression for now is, it's game mechanically better than 2. The everything button sucks. Either you do a roll when you are trying to open a door or whatever, or you force yourself to play the game slower. There are arrows on the screen to indicate what direction you will roll if you press the everything button while in cover. This really shouldn't be necessary, in fact i'd say it's a strong clue that something is really borked. I don't understand it at all. Controllers have a bazillion buttons, loads of combinations are possible. So why the unicycle approach to getting around. Haven't played the game propper, maybe you get used to it, but I kinda doubt it.
  20. Funny how these things go. The same people would likely be all *rrwarrr* at some hot lesbian action.
  21. Are the Me2 presets there or are they replaced. All the Male shep faces were horrible except the default one. The females faces had one or two cool ones if you spent the time fiddling around with it. I don't like any of the new Me3 more cartoony ones.
  22. When I get home I'm going to lock all the doors and turn off the intercom and my phones and play Me3
  23. Ohh come on, fat people are not a minorty, they're lazy. Well except those with a genuine genetic disorder.
  24. I cant believe they felt compelled to include a transvestite NPC. Seriously, I had no idea the transvestite community had such numbers! I guess hermaphrodites will have to wait until ME4. Gay is so ten years ago, how are you going to shock with that. Trans gender rights, or whatever, is in vouge. Probably since they more than any other group still experience the sharp end of discrimination (pun intended). Which is all good, live and let live and all that. Too bad they aren't all as hot as Ashley Williams. There is this one 'girl' who goes to the same supermarket as me. Ugh...
