I don't think the ending took away from all the quality content in the middle. It just kinda fizzled when you had been waiting for fireworks.

How about former squad members, indoctrinated.

They had Martin Sheen, why didn't they force as much Martin Sheen in there as the thing would bear. What little there was was awesome. To me it felt like a final level was missing. Fight your way through remaining Cerberus to duke it out with Illusive man in reaper tech mechs. Probably would have been a bit much on second thought. It was a bit anti climatic just wobbling around with a basic pea shooter, constantly irrirtated at how long it took to get to things. Kinda like the dream sequences. The writers assumed a level of emotional investment which wasn't present.

The Japanese had a legacy of democracy, going strong actually before the militants won everyone over. It was easy to return to after the ultra nationalists were so thoroughly defeated. Also a competent beurocracy which had begun to embraced merit over croneyism and nepotism, in fact gotten farther along those lines than many allied countries. Afghanistan is still based around tribal leaders and local allegiances. Much of their recent national identity comes from the Taliban and defeating the Russians. Maybe the only thing that can hold a country like that together is a larger than life nationalist, a tyrant. Or maybe that's defeatist, I don't know.

Ouch, Bioware... Dragon Age 2, and now this?
Gorgon replied to Humodour's topic in Computer and Console
It's not a 3,5 of 10 game though. Not even close, so I tend not to believe that score. -
Quite. After all is said and done he still needs to be stopped.

You forget about the bad beginning because it's very short. For the ending the expectation must be that they deliver on all their talk about consequences. It does rather resemble a hatchet job in the manner of KOTOR. The middle gets quite good, so expectations are raised.

I wonder if they realise that they are subliminally indoctrinating their gamers to want to shoot boys in gray hoodies in the back of the head.

I don't understand why there are still unskippable cutscenes around. From what I have been able to gather the reason is not technical. It's loading or clearing the cache in the backgound. So why ?.

Multiplayer is a great way to ad lasting value to the game, and keep people legit. Forcing people who aren't interested in the multiplayer component however, seems counter productive. I'm willing to bet that much of the attention to detail in the guns comes from the multiplayer development phase, so it's not wasted.

Looks kinda... ugly. Looks aren't everything though.

What I see is someone seeing the face of the madonna in a potatoe crisp. Not the face of the madonna.

A homeless person came up to me on the train today and looked at me intently and said 'hej smukke' (hello handsome). I looked back in amazement and he repeated this statement rather matter of factly. It was only later I realised that what he had said in an undeterminable east european accent was 'har du nogle sm

That just pushes my buttons. Sometimes I forget I even have buttons. This approach works if the ending is good. If it's bloody awful it just makes it worse. Like they had no idea what to do so why not leave it up to everyone's own imagination.

The kid didn't work as a cohesive device, I was losing patience a few seconds into the first dream sequence, not helped by the fact that it was unskippable.

I would not have predicted this ****storm even knowing the weak ending in advance. I don't see how they could change the ending though, that is just not going to happen. It's a bit like the BSG final. They have all this dead meat of lore and plot collected over time that all points in different directions and no way to stitch it all together coherently. Not an enviable job. They could have stuck a narrator in there though, maybe the ships doctor. 'Let me tell you about the time I served on the Normandy', that kind of thing. Might have reduced the cheese to allowable levels.

Not going on STEAM ever. Origin is trying to beat them at their own game. The import adds some extra flavor although the biggest choice you made had no influcence above a bit of dialouge whatsoever.
-
Money has **** all do to with quality. The lunatic fringe is correct in this particular instance. Although generally speaking internet fan-rage is not much good for anything, it tends to prohibit any kind of dialouge and constructive critisism.

I could get exited about a proper adon, but no one makes those anymore. If it's just going to be same size and scope as Me2 I don't think I'll give the game anymore thought.

You kinda wish for a cover toggle button and a roll button rather than just the one button. I did nijna rolls practically everywhere, trying to activate consoles, running around etc. Still better with than without rolling though.
-
Is there anyone who thinks the ending was good. (game journalists don't count) No ?. End of discussion.
-
Is Obama really so bad that you would seriously consider one of these lunatics for running the country. Be careful you don't end up protest voting yourself into a worse situation.

Today is international beef and blowjob day apparently. Hurry up and make your choice and petition the girlfriend before it's too late.

The fact that people have to respec their characters for more dialouge options seems horribly ass backwards and revealing of a major design flaw in the reputation system.
-
I wouldn't say light side/ dark side thing. It was more if you consistently played Shep one way rather then bounce between the two approaches.. Seriously, it wasn't that hard to have everyone survive. You did the loyalty missions, you picked up the ship upgrades. And you made a couple of common sense choices in regards to a> who can hack/deal with tech - ie: Tali, Legion or Kasumi, b> which characters have experience in leading teams (Garrus or Miranda pretty much, possibly Jacob), and c>who actually has serious biotic powers (either Samara or Jack).. I have no problem with a reputation system working in this manner, reflected in NPC dialouge responses. But, not having enough points should not prevent you from taking specific actions, and those unavailable options shouldn't be dangled right in front of you for no other reason than to piss you off either.
