US tortures
Depends on what you want with healthcare. If it's the most ammount of healthcare for the least ammount of money it makes sense to eliminate profit driven aspect of it as much as possible. You know, like they do in civilized countries.

US tortures
I'm not sure I would classify sleep deprivation as torture. Pretty standard interogation technique actually. Waterboarding, rape with a broomhandle, the threat of rape or violence against family members, rectal dehydration (whatever that is it's got to be nasty) Those things are definitely not 'mild'.

US tortures
The US is to immediately implement the metric system and the 230v - 50hz standard or I will use my giant laser to ignite the atmosphere.

US tortures
Biggest deal about all of this is how the judgement seems to be that nothing of any consequence was gained through torture that couldn't have been gained through other means. Only the torturers themselves seem think oftherwise. I also question of what use these prisoners and their intel are after they have developed psychosis and are living more or less in their own fantasy world to escape their situation.

So apparently Russa is going to the moon, setting up a permanent base. This totally isn't nostalgia for the USSR. I wonder how long before the moon will vote to become a member of the Russian federation.

The "Cool" Images Thread
I guess I just don't understand you endophine junkies who like to torture yourselves with various kinds of strenuous physical activity. It's alll kinds of dangerous, the view is nice, but surely that wears off after 5 mins.

It would be an accomplishment if there was some point to going there, the top of Everest or whatever. As it is it's just a hobby for rich mid life crisis afflicted people. Buy a Lambo instead, they don't give you frostbite.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [2014]
Don't like too much editorial interference in the gameplay. Like the map where you are knocked out and your weapons taken which is present in at the very least in every classic FPS single player. If you could play two characters at different time intervals, a la pulp fiction/GTA5 perhaps, and you could chose when to play what instead of being yanked out at inoppertune moments then it would be interesting imho. Dandilion needs to die. No wait, that's extreme. He needs to survive a barn fire horribly disfigured and unable to speak.

I wonder is it allegorical that confused teenagers run around in a maze, being you know, confused teenagers.

Redbeard ?. Too heavy on the social issues IMHO. There are moments when the movie is undeniably wagging its finger and preaching to you. Mifume is cool, as always.

American Riots, Michael Brown....is it justified ?
The thing with the US system is in its paradoxes - richest country in the world yet incredibly poor wealth distribution, very high crime rate and poor social/health system compared to other, less wealthy western nations. Few Americans are aware just how much better the overall standard of living is in many western european countries compared to how weaker their economies are to the US. I've yet to meet anybody from the US that's really willing to give the issue some thought and draw the obvious conclusions. Few people from the US are willing to give it much thought because you are simplifying an extremely complex issue. The US is a gigantic country, and really each state is closer to an independent country than anything else. It is basically like generalizing all of Europe as one place, instead of independent countries with unique problems. Maye there is a size limit for a country and beyond that, whatever it is, people just don't give as much of a damn about trying to uplift the whole. The scope of the challenge is too great. I propose spiltting the US in 4 or 5 geographical regions with more things in common.

Journalism and sexism in the games industry
What is it about GTA 5 anyway. Is there some particular critisism or is it just that it's called GTA 5 and the same people campaigned to ban #4

He would make the point better without falling into such an obvious temptation is what I'm saying.
