Yeah, but if you damage one of your five CD's your problem is just as big as when you damage your DVD. The only reason to use navies is if you want to quickly move an army across a body of water. Otherwise they are totally useless. No point in using them as you can almost never win battles with them except when you have a large size advantage over the enemy, at least on the higher difficulty settings. The game can be beaten quite easily without navies for every nation with the sole exception of Britian I think. Can't remember if they start with a city on the mainland... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Britain starts with a city in Continental Europe, just north of Alesia, their first war is usually against the Germany.

Some times the AI is very stupid, you can be playing with Germany, and after defeat the France, Holland, Luxemburg, Poland and USSR you can find some of your allies changing the side (for example in one game Spain joined the allies after the english gave them Gibraltar), but with the patches the AI is more intelligent.

And some good games don't have to get even the Platinum qualify to be cheap, a example is Sacred which is better than BG: DA and only costs 19.95

Are you kidding? The AI in Civ3 does cheat but you have a huge advantage on the easiest level. Things did get a bit harder with the expansions, but Chieftain level was really easy. I remember that for me Regent was where things started to get hard in Civ3. The trick on the easier levels is to expand as quickily as possible. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Said it to the AI, in less than 10 mins of game I was at war against Russians, French and English, and I didn't anything against them.

CD's please, I prefer 5 CD's before a single DVD, the DVD is too easy to damage, is more fragile than a CD
