  1. Stingray attacks are rare. Stingray barbs to the heart are very very rare. Unfortunate. Anyway they haven't told us he's dead yet. Just that somebody died when he was doing a show. Likely it was a freak accident, but freak accidents aren't that uncommon when you intentionally deal with the world's most deadly creatures. And crikey isn't THAT uncommon in normal conversation. It's by no means common, either, of course. He was a good bloke. Too bad.
  2. Says on the jobs page they are working with the unreal engine. Perhaps (software engineer).
  3. The grass is greener on the other side.
  4. Like Fallout? Good. I liked Fallout. I have but one question: are Volo and Elminster still alive? I miss them. And can I play as a cleric of Aoskar? That'd be fun. I could, like, cast raise dead on him and then teleport to another dimension and suffocate due to lack of oxygen.
  5. Playing this now. I love Malkavians. They're so... me.
  6. I'd prefer if the Obsidian clip had something to do with a volcano. Why? Obsidian is volcanic glass. On that note, Obisidian has to be one of my favourite names for a game company.
  7. I'm going to read the list, but anybody who likens Deus Ex to Diablo loses a lot of credibility with me. Oh my god the first game mentioned is the latest Pool of Radiance. Do you have ANY idea how bloody crap that game was? Kay, read the list. Only reason I'm not going to call it COMPLETE crap is that it mentions the PS:T, BG1 and Fallout.
  8. Thanks guys. Exactly what I wanted to hear. And yes, old games are fine. I still like Fallout's graphics and they are 7 years old. :D When you say console RPGs, do you mean Xbox or...? I'm thinking of buying a console. But then there's also all these new ones coming out as well and I can only afford one.
  9. In the past year or so I've been pretty starved of good hefty RPGs to play. I've done the typical ones to death (IE games, FO series, NWN, KoTOR), however I'm quite sure I've missed one or two great games over the past 7 years or so. So what I am looking for is a list of the not so well known RPGs which you've personally played and enjoyed in the last 7 years. If I can find just one or two new great games to play from this thread, it will be worth while.
  10. The Lady of Pain does not chase nutjobs to make spells out of their nutsacks.
  11. Stop. Before you start listing your favourite RPGS, consider this: Everybody probably already knows that FO, PS:T, BG are awesome. So while I'd like you to certainly list these games, I am actually looking for you to write a list of the top, say, 50 RPG's you have ever played. This may be a bit harder for you, but please try! If the game is somewhat obscure and not well known, please make sure you detail its name fully as well as explain briefly what it is (fantasy isometric hack and slash, sci-fi 3D non-linear, etc) If you don't know whether you'd consider the game one of your top 20, but you enjoyed playing it, list it anyway. :D Finally: Hybrids like Deus Ex are allowed. Mine, in no particular order: Fallout 1 Fallout 2 Planescape: Torment Baldur's Gate 1 Baldur's Gate 2 Icewind Dale Neverwinter Nights Nox (An awesome game! Not well known. Fantasy isometric RPG) System Shock (not even a hybrid, but if you've never played it you are missing out!) Half-Life (as above) Deus Ex Revenant (Hack and slash but more RPG than Diablo) Diablo Diablo 2 Divine Divinity (A good RPG to pass the time. Similar to Baldur's Gate in some ways) Sacred (Hack and slash version of Divine Divinity; isometric fantasy) Beyond Divinity (As above) Morrowind (Worth buying. Has a lot of flaws, but equally it has a lot of cool things about it) RPGs I plan to buy: The Fall Oblivion Fallout 3 Arcanum Anachronox Your turn. Please bold or asterisks any games I haven't mentioned.
  12. "Please note this is an incomplete list." I saw Feargus say that contrary to common belief, PS:T had been quite successful; that it had sold over [a] million copies. It was 1, 2 or 3 million. I don't remember the exact figure; he was still at Black Isle at the time. PS:T had no sequel for a number of reasons: 1) Interplay didn't want to fund anything that wasn't an AAA title, 2) PS:T had a very final ending. 3) A sequel would probably not be as good since PS:T was so unique 4) PS:T sold well OVER TIME. It was not an instant commercial success.
  13. Not to kickstart the blinking XBox, to kickstart the Jade Empire franchise! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But JE was a good game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But it only sold 500,000 copies. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> And how many did PS:T sell? I'm sorry, but market demand is not directly proportion to quality. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> PS:T sold more than 3 million over time. It was definitely a financial success.
  14. Well, in Australia, anyway. I would presume that everywhere else also has it, since Australia typically gets things last.
  15. As soon as I finish this list...I'm still adding to it! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Awesome.
  16. Can you make a short list of which games are confirmed as slated for release but not yet released, names only?
  17. People should remember that Hades (a.k.a Visceris) has been saying trash about how "most games aren't CRPGs" and how "most games suck" for ages. And by ages I mean many years - perhaps 4? Yet each time he goes out and buys the games which he says suck. So before you try having any intellectual discussion with him in the future, keep in mind the fact that he'll never concede your point no matter how correct you are.
  18. Joke as you wish, GoA, your antics are not appreciated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Visceris is not appreciated. That game sucks so badly. It repeats itself, is monotonous and linear, gets on your nerves and just generally makes you want to punch your screen. And dialogue - hah! This game has no dialogue, unless you consider the same phrase repeated 1 million times, worded slightly differently each time as dialogue. In conclusion, don't buy Visceris - it's a **** game; waste of money.
  19. Oh, NWN2 of course. And the HL2 expansion packs and stand alones. And what's this about AoE3?! OMG!
  20. ok. Does that mean you'll play with me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hell yes it does. Been dying to play DS 2 MP for a while, and what's an MP game without good company? SS2 MP... now there's an idea... if I can find my CD. Eldar: Yeah. Missy and some others at the lair will join, too, if we don't get anybody from here. Presuming they aren't dead from forgetting to eat because of WoW.
  21. LOL. Why do so many posters on this forum have a beef with crates? LOL. They are just crates! I feel compelled to hug one for receiving so much bad rep. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well in this case, I added it because I know Krez has a thing for crates... and buckets. I think he keeps hoping of for a family reunion. (I was thinking of this the other day, well, I was thinking of Krez, and can't remember who the other bucket boy was/is. Anyone have any idea what happened to him?) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> CRATES! YAY!!!! LiquidDamage. I think he has an account at the Lair but I don't think he floated over to these boards when that idiot at IPLY closed the forums. And I've lost the bucket avatar again. Bah! Oh and thanks for all the comments guys. I'm not too fussy with games, so Arcanum should be some good fun. I think Morrowind was the only game I truly regretted playing (and I'll still give Oblivion a go, since DS 2 has taught me that developers CAN learn from mistakes).
  22. Mine: Dungeon Siege 2 Oblivion STALKER Fallout 3 The Fall (I think it can out this year) Arcanum (no, it's not new) Anachronox (ditto) You? I must say I have a lot more to look forward to than I did last year and the year before. Finally some good games.
