  1. Dude, don't live on campus. You'll never attend class, and you'll be hungover the days you aren't drunk.
  2. Yeah, I'm glad they did that with Matt. So it seems some heroes have the same abilities as others? Matt + His dad, Clare + Kensei, Nathan + Clare's BF.
  3. Hate to be like Visceris here, but: prove it. Meh. He seemed fine to me. I didn't like him because he was a slimeball... but that's what he's meant to be. I must admit, I too am starting to get sick of Hiro's plot arc. Kinda boring.
  4. hahaha. I've always loved the idea of the wild mage. Though its implementation in a CRPG needs some serious consideration... I'd like to see it one day, though. Not in a D&D or D20 CRPG of course. I don't ever want to see a D20 CRPG again. So sick of it.
  5. It must be a WA thing, because the girls are like that in Canberra.
  6. I joined the BIS boards during IWD2's development. It popped my forum cherry. Good times. You helped me annoy WinterWolf90. EVERYBODY DANCE: http://www.jazz2online.com/jcf/images/macro/ Now somebody please mirror them because I don't know how much longer my friend will host them there. They've been there for years.
  7. Well, since she's, as you put it, dead, I'm betting its going to be a while. Her body is dead, but her mind transferred into the satellite and then beamed down to Earth, if you re-read the comic.
  8. I wish Sylar would die. He's so sleazy. And when is dead virus lady going to show up. Wireless, not the Mexican chick.
  9. My ten favourite games in no order: System Shock 2 Half-Life 1 and Opposing Forces Fallout 1 Fallout 2 Planescape: Torment Icewind Dale 1 VtM: Bloodlines Deus Ex 1 Giants: Citizen Kabuto - this is a game I recommend to EVERYBODY... it's so unique KoTOR 1 Other stuff: Deus Ex 2 should never have been made. Icewind Dale 2 is a decent dungeon romp but isn't as awesome as IWD1. KOTOR 2 is a decent RPG. It is also unfinished, IMHO. Half-Life 2 is one of the best pure FPS games ever, but I don't think it was anything special when compared with HL1. Jazz Jackrabbit 1 and 2 are veru fun 2D side-scrollers if you're up for a bit of adrenaline. Age of Empires 1 and 2 (not 3) are awesome RTS games. Worms 2 is great fun to play with a few friends, optionally while drunk. Dungeon Siege 1 is a beautiful game, if somewhat boring. Dungeon Siege 2 is a big improvement, being playable exactly once, but being great fun that one time. Nox and Revenant are two old RPGs which are kind of interesting. Worth playing if you can find them. Of all the games so far, the one I must recommend the most is Giants: Citizen Kabuto. A stunning game... I couldn't really pinpoint it to one genre, though.
  10. Too many of their abilities are magic with zero scientific basis.
  11. [guess] It will be a very little connection to the previous ones, probably set 100 years after the events of DX2. But anyhoo, Warren Spector is not involved, so it will probably be sucky in any case. [/guess] You do realise it was Warren Spector who made Deus Ex 2 so ****? He wanted (whether because EA told him to or because he actually thought it would work) to streamline everything (from ammo to levels to plot) so that it was little more than an interactive novel (which it was, and not in the good way like PS:T). There were many decisions in the development cycle of DX2 which were utterly moronic and questionable, most made because EA wanted a "jack of all trades, master of none" title and because it was to be created on a ****ing console. Heck, the reason they removed the skill system was because console gamers don't have enough brains to deal with number crunching elements of RPGs. Fie on Warren Spector. Deus Ex never deserved to be tainted with a sequel... and in that PS:T is blessed.
  12. So I heard sand is a fat Romanian woman. How about that?
  13. Some of the focal themes of the game were belief, change and regret. These themes are inherently philosophical and I think PS:T approached them from that perspective. "Pseudo-philosophical" makes it sound like it was hollow; like it covered its themes without really covering anything at all, which I don't think is true; I felt quite moved as I journeyed through the game... emotionally, yes, but also spiritually in a way. I felt enlightened when I finished it, so I would definitely call PS:T philosophical. Philosophical material needn't be essays and books. I think anything which causes you to question fundamental things in your world in an insightful way should be considered philosophical... the medium isn't really important.
  14. I'd love an IWD3. IWD 1 was one of my favourite IE games and indeed, one of my favourite games. It is on par with PS:T in terms of enjoyment, thoguh for vastly different reasons. And BG1 beats BG2. I greatly disliked BG2.
  15. If you ever lose it again, I put it in my profile the first time we uploaded them. I'm not sure how long into the future iCeD will host them, however, so, again, I'd appreciate if somebody could mirror them.
  16. Heathens. Consoles are the spawn of satan; designed to tempt PC gamers away from the quality and immersiveness of real games.
  17. Hmm you're right about cyberpunk/Bladerunner. I was thinking that when I voted, actually... but I don't really know anything much about cyberpunk... though I hear Deus Ex is sort of like that.
  18. I'm of the same mind. We'll see how it goes... I think, however, that it will probably be Obsidian's best game so far. Just a gut feeling.
  19. Skynet (Cybernetic Brain) (FO2) ****ing awesome robot with its own mysterious agenda and a cool secret level to find it in... plus it packs a mean punch with a gauss rifle Imoen (BG1) Your cheery kid sister... love her rare click sounds "Good on you if you save the day", "Old puff guts would always tell me a story"... plus she's with you through think and thin. I think BG2 changed her character for the worse... but then it did that to most of the characters and annihilated their portraits Nordom (PS:T) Another awesome robot... this time slightly more insane and with an equally cool secret level... plus he's the only guy in the game with crossbows! Morte (PS:T) I was so dissapointed that I couldn't give Morte the body of one of those huge death knights in the final Mortuary level. Nordom: "A question, Morte: How do you stay aloft?" Morte: "Flatulence, you stupid polygon" Xan (BG1) Life is so hollow... he's got a cool voice set and a cool sword. Marcus (FO2) Lots of HP, can pack a pulse rifle... and overall a badass... especially in Cat's Paw, Reno. Mira (KOTOR2) Awesome girl who can become a Jedi. A Jedi who shoots rockets from her wrists. Annah (PS:T) Awesome in combat late game, used scissor claws, had a tail, had an Irish accent. What can I say? Haha the St Pat's day version of Annah is hilarious. Jolee (KOTOR 1) A wise old nutcase with awesome force powers and an awesome personality in the dialogues throughout the game (especially if it is he who saves the ship) Deeken (SoU/HotU) Loved this guy through both games. What can I say? Doom doom doom! Glad he gets his wings. I also liked: Dak'Kon - could get a bit dull, though... kind of monotone. Fall-From-Gace - poor combat skills, but awesome call lightning Sulik - He killed me a few too many times with the caseless cartridge SMG Cassidy - <3 gauss rifle Mission Vao - Twi'lek with two blasters! Visas Marr - Cool look HK-47 - Evil bastard Ian - Backstabbed me with bullets a few times. Minsc & Boo - It's a shame nothing cool ever happened to boo... like mutating into a REAL giant hamster. Man KOTOR 2 would be so sweet if it was finished. OMG! I forgot Tiax! TIAX RULES! MAKE WAY!
  20. I don't really like it when RTS and RPG games occupy the same universe... which is why I can't really see a Warhammer game being any good. That said, it doesn't matter what universe it is - a good RPG company can fashion an amazing RPG out of some of the most anti-RPG settings. Probably because RPG scope can vary wildly - from giant cities and tavel accross an entire continent, to a single town for an entire game... and the story can vary just as wildly... in fact I'm intrigued by Bethesda's scope with Fallout 3. I kind of like the close-to-home feel of it's story: you're not a god or anything, you're just looking for your father. So far, what I've seen of Fallout 3 is living up to most of my expectations, actually, and exceeding some. At the very least, it's not giving me that "oh this doesn't look good" feeling of Deus Ex 2 as I followed it's development. Regarding the pre-used IPs of BG, IWD, KOTOR, etc... I'm sick of them and would like Obsid to do something new... moreover I'd like Obsid to make a game that feels FULL and COMPLETE... graphically, rules-wise, quest-wise, etc. Although I'd love another Vampire game along the vein of Bloodlines (1st person, etc). Or just a nice non-linear FPS in general (like Deus Ex). EDIT: Gorth, you're member number 666...
  21. Cool. Next step is building space craft in space - then you don't need to worry about aerodynamics or escape velocity.
  22. Bladerunner... wow, now there's an idea. I mean I am kinda over the movie because back in highschool we analysed it a lot. That said, that analysis helps me realise just how immense the potential is for that universe. You've even got a Mars colony to work with. Man, I'd totally dig a Blade Runner RPG. Perfect setting, universe, and adaptability to an RPG... plus it is post-apoc :D I think in order to work it'd need to be something of a mix between Deus Ex and Vampire: Bloodlines, in terms of atmosphere, quests, 1st person, skill system, etc.
  23. I wanted to be a computer programmer when I was 7. Right now, I'm studying computer science and mathematics at university.
