  1. I am just gonna leave this here. http://www.princeton.edu/~mgilens/Gilens%20homepage%20materials/Gilens%20and%20Page/Gilens%20and%20Page%202014-Testing%20Theories%203-7-14.pdf edit: To elaborate, it's a paper on the US government and how in fact it's an oligarchy. The paper is not finished yet but it paints a pretty picture.
  2. Lol, you are too cute. You really think democracy as a system works?
  3. Dude you must really have trouble reading... Who here has said that Russia is the good guy.
  4. In the first iteration of this topic I said that until there is a election held this new "government" is illegitimate, and various pro-west Ukrainians told me how it will take place, one even said in May. Well what happened?
  5. Heck, IWD2 is number one on my list, but I'll still express my concerns.
  6. As far as I see the scripts they use aren't cheats at all, and as for how he moves, isn't that just bunny hopping?
  7. Let's not mention their border with Mexico either. For a country that was founded with immigrants, that stuff is too funny. They are fixing things half way around the world but I guess it's too hard to do it on their doorstep. Cheap labor is too good I guess.
  8. @IndiraLightfoot The problem is not what was said in the KS, the problem is what wasn't said. As more time passes we learn how much Josh dislikes the BG series. Now everyone is entitled to his opinion and taste, but it doesn't inspire confidence that the person in charge of the "spiritual successor" of the IE games, thinks so little of it's best one. If he was upfront in the KS about his views on BG I doubt that the support would have been as overwhelming. All that being said I still chose to be optimistic that the game will be good.
  9. And you could cast protection from weapons and those fights were countered too. Any fight can be cheesed and countered. Also it seems to me that your problem is with the AI and not the system it self. That is a whole other story though.
  10. Spot on MReed. At this point it would be beneficial for Josh to come out and say what he disliked about the IE games, or if that list is too long (as seems to be the case), what he liked about them. While it won't change anything, it will serve to inform the public and lessen any shock that would/will happen at release. I really think that what we were told in the KS was not the whole picture.
  11. http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/04/14/half-life-gets-new-world-record-speedrun-watch-it-be-finished-in-20-minutes-41-seconds/ Damn
  12. Well when you consider that this whole situation is a copy/paste of how Milosevic's regime was put down (minus the bloodshed(though that is mainly do to how Milosevic handled the situation)), you can't really blame people for pointing fingers. Maybe in 10 years when the Obama files are made public you guys will accept who's fingers were in the pie. But I think I'm being overly optimistic.
  13. Because when they do get it right they choke their games out of any profit they have. Not only that, but they don't take to many risks any more, they figured out that they can just buy successful franchises and run them dry.
  14. I disagree, I found that there are more then one way to deal with the "sucker punch" fights, as you call them. That people chose to follow guides with hard counters, well that is their prerogative, in fact any fight can be easy with the right counters.
  15. lol Or it's just a product that publishers weren't willing to invest in and we all know that publishers rarely get it right.
  16. That is your whole take away from what he said, sad...
  17. Interview about the new civ game. http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/04/12/civilization-beyond-earth-interview-everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-new-factions-aliens-technology-and-more/
  18. You say make money back, I'm not sure you understand what I mean. They will at the release of the game be in the black(unless they put some of their own money in the game), meaning that any copy of the game they sell will be profit. So 100k copies sold is pure profit. As for my definition, well for my expectations it's a major success. In my opinion the market for Isometric cRPGs right now is not that big, though I think there is room to grow.
  19. Depends on what kind of deal they made with Paradox, as for steam and gog I think you are overestimating their cut.
  20. If it sells 100k copies then it will be a major success. That means that they have a budget for the next game without a kickstarter and that it's a sustainable model. Anything above 100k is pure gravy.
  21. This will show if the Iso-cRPG model is sustainable or if it will never be more then a kickstarter funded game.
  22. I can't wait for the situations were you are almost at the end of the dungeon with low health searching for a rest spot and then bam the boss appears. Now that is a sucker punch.
