Level 1 confirmed, now they'll have to explain how other returning companions were level drained as well. Probably gonna stuff them all in the stronghold at that time. So stupid, imho. The only way I'd be ok with it if they decided to rework all abilities and spells and level pacing. That way I can understand the need to level up again.

I don't have a problem with this as long as there will be smaller companions roster and combat is revised and balanced properly for 5 people team. I'd rather have a roster of ~8 companions with more things to say and more quests to give than to have 11+ shallow companions with 2 lines of text for every class.

I think they could start this sequel with vanilla PoE level cap. What was it? Level 10? White March raised it to 12, but since not everyone played it they could lower it back a bit. But not too much, it's a sequel after all, with the same protagonist, so high mid-level campaign is expected. And furthermore, they've teased us with those empty high level spell slots in PoE1, it's time to start filling them out. I don't care if they take all the items away though, they can be regained. Personally, I find mid-high level campaigns much more interesting to play than low level, because of the large variety of abilities available and rising level of sheer epic-ness of battles. BG2 and ToB were my favourites in this regard.

I'd like a ship as a new stronghold, or an island. A+ ideas. Especially if I can take that ship and travel with it. Yea, I'm thinking since Deadfire is an archipelago we'll get to travel alot to different islands, so a ship can become a movable base of operations. An island, on the other hand, can become an insurmountable fortress against enemies and steady source of income and resources.

This was one of my main gripes with PoE. I have a 1440p monitor and the upscaling was terrible I hope PoE 2 will support higher resolutions natively or, failing that, at least employ a better upscaling algo for the UI (though text should really always render at native resolution for clarity.) Catmull-Rom Bicubic would be a good example That was my main gripe in Tyranny and that came out just recently - nothing good above 1080p. Feels like they still are living in the distant past.

Ok, backed. Looks like everything will be improved in the sequel. A few questions though: -Why is Pallegina's skin color even darker than before? I first thought she was wearing a mask or smth. Her new model doesn't look similar to her old portrait. -Will there be pets and will they have stats bonuses this time? -How much time has passed since PoE1 and PoE2? I'm playing an elf, so my Watcher is still in top shape but I'm worried about Eder and all those Orlan Watchers out there. -Have Obsidian finally realized that this is 2017 not early 2000s and many people have 4k resolution monitors?

Well, if it's gonna be like other games with imports at the very least there will be an option to create a new character from scratch, like it was in Baldur's Gate. However Baldur's Gate 2 didn't import any choices, only recent games started doing that, Mass Effect among the first. So if it's like recent games then there should be an option to make new character with a list of story choices to choose from, or import old character with story choices from the save file. BioWare is at the forefront when it comes to importing choices - in Dragon Age they now have an online app called DragonAgeKeep where you can import your save or make a new one by simply choosing all the story choices in the app. I don't think Obsidian will do anything even remotely resembling this, but I'm expecting at least save file importing with choices.

Distressed crown and sphere? Anyone else getting a Pearl Coast vibe? This looks right. http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/The_Pearl_Coast "Would that we had a home to return to, we would go. Wars and time have reduced us to this sorry state, but some of us still dream of a future that befits our past." I'm thinking that's a dwarf companion.
