  1. I guess I could impale a few dozen homeless on a 10 meter long construction steel bar and use that as barbell. That would keep the streets clean, my wallet fat and my body strong. Three flies with one swat! (Thats even better than using the poor as firewood substitute to heat my home.)
  2. Guess what shes doing for a living? Mainly spear throwing!
  3. Are you mad, don't you know how dirty public transports are? The cadaveric poison stains and gut goo from the hundreds of run over homeless would be incredibly hard to remove from my deluxe sportswear. Oh, and what I did today: repaired my washing machine, it just didn't pump the water anymore. Disassembled it but couldn't really find a problem, after that it worked again. And being strong does have a practical value, I could pick up and lift that darned thing around (full of water) without breaking a sweat and more importantly without asking any of my blasted neighbors for help.
  4. Next time I'm in Iceland I'll make sure to visit the legendary Jakobol gym, thats where the strongest of the strongman lift. No swimming pools, no saunas, no couch, no fanciness anywhere, just a huge bleak and cold storehouse at the end of the world, filled with absolutely ridiculous weights, oversized atlas stones, absurd lifting contraptions and experts. In other words - heaven. I want to visit that holy site and touch if not attempt to lift some of those sacred weights with my unworthy hands. Now THATS a ''gym'' I truly want to visit.
  5. That was my plan too, but since BW didn't give us an exact ETA of their patch that is supposed to fix PC control issues I bought a controller. Little profit lies in patching a game post-hype so there is not much motivation. It could take months for further fixes.
  6. Yes, the voice and no beard stubble whatsoever.
  7. All I can say is that after 5 years it pays off, I save 120 bucks a year + a considerable amount of fuel + tons of time + wear and tear of my car for decades to come. Not to mention the fees are ever increasing. Thats definitely good in my book.
  8. If you cannot see that 700 bucks only pays me 5 years of a gym membership, fuel needed to get there not included, you're pretty shortsighted? I also bought equipment to make my own ammo which cost me 1000+ bucks. It took some time till this investment started to pay off. I'm thinking about long term.
  9. Could we please get back to topic? I just plugged my Xbox controller to my PC and voilĂ ! A world of difference, it plays much more smoothly than KB+M, even though its not as precise and I need more controller practice.
  10. If you doubt my calculation you probably have no idea about gyms, the fee of my nearest gym of acceptable quality is 120 bucks a year. Buying weights is definitely cheaper in the long run. The main advantage in my case is not having to drive 1 hour to the gym, I think I would not be lifting if I had to drive for 2 hours after work every single day, even in winter. That would become so annoying.
  11. Zapped through the channels and got stuck at ''The Birds'' from 1963. Highly absurd yet somewhat funny movie, the ending though, or the lack thereof, was a real bummer. I wanted to know the reason why those birds attacked and killed goddammit, the lack of an explanation or even a hint made the whole movie pointless! And it reminded me of summer, I live in the country and I could make a similar movie called ''The flies''. With a new sequel every single year.
  12. I tip my hat to you for your decision to deal with this kind of problem with very little or even no use of meds. Yeah, depending on the individuals personality and the severity of the case nasty things can happen; though I'd hesitate to only blame ones '' special mental condition'' for such behavior. I met people who used their physological problems as an excuse to be a utter a-holes and get away with it. They even openly admitted it. I'm still pretty stable because I rule over my feelings with logical thinking, self discipline and self awareness so this would never lead me to make something stupid or even criminal, its just annoying and taxing to deal with this crap and being effective at the daily grind at the same time. Its just too much at times and I burn out.
  13. Thats one reason why I hesitate to get a dog, I only like big dogs and they EAT. Today I've been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, hah. I'm hardly surprised. I'm not going to take the suggested meds though, their side effects are just insane. They may fix one thing but create five new problems in the process which require fixing too which eventually leads to a vicious circle of awfulness and pharmaceutical slavery. Anyway, I take comfort in the thought that many of the great inventors, artists and philosophers had that too.
  14. Pff, thats even less dense than steel, all the bulk! I wish my weights were made of Osmium.
  15. Just went to to a fitness shop to buy weights.....until the shop owner told me that 1 20kg plate costs 55 bucks. And I need 12 + a new bar. So a new 240kg barbell would set me back +- 700 bucks. And I'm not even talking about super high quality stuff. Fitness gear has become so expensive its insane, when I started with lifting all the stuff cost about half as much. But its still cheaper than a gym in the long run.-
  16. Having trouble sleeping again, just right out of the blue. Whenever I'm falling asleep something startles me and I wake up again, last night this happened 4 times in a row. And I feel sick and lightheaded afterwards, like I'm falling. Its like what happened to the protagonist in ''The machinist''. Haven't slept much in the past 72 hours, no matter how tired I am, I cannot fall asleep, only doze. Don't know what my body is trying to tell me this time. Annoying prick.

  18. Play Mass Effect 2 with the DLC's. Its a good game and you probably won't play it after finishing ME3.
  19. Thanks. There will be a learning curve though, the last time I used a controller was when I played Gran Turismo 2 on the PS 1 when I was 13. I hope its like cycling.... You had a PS3, too, I thought. Remember, it died, and you were all, damn, my save games ... Yes, and the only game I played on it was Gran Turismo 6; with a Logitech Sim steering wheel + pedals + h-shifter. I haven't used the controller even once.

  21. Set a new personal dead lift record. Must be doing something right, I can increase the weight by 5kg every two weeks and there seems to be no end. Its pretty cool to feel the barbell bend when picking it up, and that with no wrist straps, lifting belts or other help of any kind. Also I played 4 matches of Magic the gathering against my friends and won three out of 4 matches. Had a great day. This man agrees. He was also a beast with the submachine gun!
  22. I just bought an Xbox controller because I cannot stand the controls anymore, also my protagonist racing around at camp and in the keep makes me not just dizzy, I also feel pretty stupid.
  23. Yeah I hate it when my sides grow too long which happens in only a couple of weeks, thats why I used to sport and undercut for a while, I simply completely shaved the sides and annoying areas on my scalp every three days. No fluffiness whatsoever! I already miss that hairstyle. Also I'm pretty scared about balding, every single hair that leaves my scalp gets its own funeral ceremony, followed by a massive panic attack. I suffer from severe hair loss paranoia / hypochondria because I had a completely shaven head in my military service time.....and I hated it.
