No thats a little unfair..ISIS is much more brutal and barbaric Not sure about it. There is still pblic flogging, stoning and execution. Saudi forces are.not really super pro human in their intervention in Yemen. They even bombarded a neutral hospital housing yemeni rebels couple of days ago. Sauds are exactly what ISIS would become once they would secure a new country and stop warring. But Darkpriest surely you haven't thought this threw Saudis are our allies and there all right! It's not like there doing this every Friday. /snort edit: To post something useful, well, of course Erdogan is going to use the situation for his own gain. He sitting on nigh to 2 million Syrians which is a pretty damned impressive ace up the sleeve. If push comes to shove lofty ideals alway go out of the window. It's like Quark said back in DS9:

Vampire: The Masquerade made by Obsidian?

Well, to be fair, IWD2 was anything but balanced. There's only so much one can do while following existing core rules. -
What's on the idiot box Part 4 (or something)

Pretty decent idea for a bottle episode, yeah. Except of course... -
SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
majestic replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Well, the man wasn't necessarily killed. At least in the original version of the instance, anyway. The other high-profile character that is defeated in a FP and whose body was never found, ended up returning as a major player in a certain expansion... Further, they haven't released Malgus' armor in the CM, and we got even Satele's. And then there's this, in case you missed it. So yeah, I think the odds are good that he'll make a (predictably lame) comeback. I wish they just had got it right the first time, dammit. Darth Marr is basically Malgus 2.0. Yeah, I know. I threw him off the ledge myself a few days after the initial early access, and my friends and I yelled IT WAS MERELY A SETBACK in Team Speak and laughed because that was such an obvious setup, but he never came back. At some point I'd love to see the original storyline roadmap as laid out by Mythic Bioware Austin. Rakata Prime was slated to be in 1.3 or 1.4 and Maked was supposed to be a summer content patch after all. Well, before all the players ran away beacuse they released an unfinished product. They probably thought they could do the same thing Blizzard did back when WoW came out but their content didn't last nearly long enough to pull that off. -
SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)

I think this is the first time since launch that there was any freaking waiting time for an EU server. About the topic of killing off your companions - that used to be possible in the Beta, e.g. it was possible for Sith Warriors to actually kill Quinn for his betrayal but players complained about the permanent death (there is no way to reload in an MMO obviously) and so Bioware removed it even though some story points clearly were meant for the option to be available. Although having to "forgive" Quinn annoyed me less than having to oppose Baras. Quinn was absolutely right after all. Meh. I also will never understand why Malgus was squandered so easily during the base storyline. The CE even came with a miniature Malgus statue and then he's the boss of a 4 man instance? -
Looks like GOG is getting my money... again. edit: Speaking of giving money to GOG, they also have a pre-order going on for a HD remake of Pathologic, featuring an all new English translation. That looks promising, to say the least. The original english version had the charm of a badly translated Chinese manual.

Ah, "minor" question on how to achieve one of the endings:
-
Mixed feelings here. I no longer have a flight stick (let's face it, in the past 15 years that's been nothing more than useless clutter on the desk) and I no longer have the spare time necessary to really enjoy Falcon like I did back in my school days. Although 4.0 probably stopped being the buggy piece of crap it was for years after its release and my current rig should have absolutely no issues with Falcon 3.0, unlike my trusty old 386 had back in the day.

Ah, Volo, now you're not even trying. GOG has a neat little top 25 best selling games at the moment (not overall) chart on the front page where PoE hasn't moved out of even when all the aforementioned D&D classics go on sale for 20$ for the entire set or "new" old games were released in bulk (Gold Box classics). That one is obviously seperate from the all-time best selling list where PoE clocks in on position #55 of all RPGs or some such - which is worth exactly nothing because we have no idea what the other items have sold. Could be millions apart, could be a few hundred, we don't really know. What we do know however is that almost all items on the sorted by bestselling RPG list have been on GOG for years, never were full-price games in the first place, have been on several sales, were given away for free just for signing up or are relatively new and close to PoE (like Divinity: Original Sin). Well, except The Witcher 3, which is an AAA title anyway. All in all, I think it is fair to say that PoE has been doing pretty well on GOG. How well is a point open for debate because we have no reliable numbers, which was the entire point. Given Steamspy's numbers it is reasonable to assume that the 500k only includes Steam sales or Steam activated copies of PoE from other sources (e.g. the regular boxes, Kickstarter backers or give-away keys from the Lords of the Eastern Reach Kickstarter). Adding GOG's sales would most like still not push PoE to your magical one million copies sold so don't worry, you can still ramble on about it being a bust. Gee. Besides, the site is called Good Old Games. Whyever would old games do well there? Boggles the mind.
-
Indeed, either Steamspy's numbers are completely out of whack or this statement came without GOG sales included (PoE is still in GOG's Top 15 currently best selling list, after 7 months).

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)
majestic replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Well, it only took four years. I wonder if my operative's trench coat is among the "most" cases. With my luck probably not. -
I kind of felt the exact opposite. Interstellar was a remix of 2001's space exploration (including a rehash of the 20 minute LSD trip scene) sprinkled with the utterly boring mystery of any post-Unbreakable Shyamalan movie and a pointlessly moronic subplot featuring Matt Damon and a visually impressive explosion in space. Not to mention how ridiculous the robots were. The only two things making this film bearable are the impressive visuals and Matthew McConaughey.

Ideally they'll end just a dollar shy of their multiplayer goal. If I want to multiplayer BattleTech I'd do it in the old-school way.

fixed. *shrug* is a ridiculous vanity product that attempts to sell crpg anachronisms as innovations. tactical sophistication takes a back seat to lucking or metagaming your way into a viable build? *snort* played the demo a while back and have little interest in slogging through full release. HA! Good Fun! I don't know, they never claimed the game to be innovative with its combat mechanics. They just said they want to stay off the beaten path and accepted status quo in roleplaying games, and that they did. With a vengeance.

Oh, wow, they even managed to update the BMT version. Consider me intrigued. edit: Ah, they asked GOG if they can hand out free keys to those who preordered via BMT. That would be very fortunate. I'd rather get a GOG key than a Steam one, really.

A couple more pointers: You can recruit them as extra party members.

Thoughts on Knights of the Old Republic
majestic replied to Althernai's topic in Computer and Console
Huh, what, are you talking about Bastila, or some early development stuff? -
Nah, the CDU isn't politically active in Bavaria, that would be the CSU - not that it really makes any difference. Technically they're different parties, but the CDU stays out of Bavaria and the CSU supports them on a federal level in return. They might as well be siamese twins as they're all but interchangeable.
-
Yeah, I kind of got that from the mail they sent out, but where's mah backer tier bonus and feelgood-support now?
-
Looks like GOG has some issues with the update. It's not availale in Galaxy and it doesn't show up for anyone who has not bought the game but received a free key from somewhere (e.g. various Kickstarter campaigns). edit: Scratch that, they apparently made an entirely new item for the DLC and it just no longer shows up under the WL2 extras where it did a few hours ago. edit 2: Oh, joy. Galaxy is downloading 15 GB now. There's something amiss with GOG and WL2, the last time Galaxy patched WL2 it also just redownloaded the entire game instead of just the update. Hrm.

I was just looking at that...not 100% sure but it made me pay attention at least. The Allison Road Kickstarter just kicked the bucket. Eh...

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VII (J.J. Strikes Back)

More here Yeah, I mean who the hell wants actual multiplayer content in their MMORPG these days. *sigh* -
What was wrong with it ?The maneuvering thrusters are just as powerful as the main thrusters. So, the gameplay is strafing up, down, left, and right while using gimbals to fire at your target. It is incredibly fast paced, and aim intensive, because of this. It has been said it plays like a "FPS in space." Coupled with the "realistic physics" that have you sliding around... It is very tiring to me. Ymmv. Keep in mind that I have a full CH Products (stick, throttle, and pedals) setup. The game is far easier to play with a simple mouse and keyboard. I am completely biased here as a byproduct of using those peripherals. If you are just going to use mouse and keyboard you may be fine with the game as it is at present. Edit: As I said, they have changes to the flight model coming. Supposedly. Also, the mouse controls gimbaled weapons like a normal cursor. While sticks can only aim ahead of their trajectory. It creates a huge imbalance. This last bit is only relevant if you are interested in PvP, though. That's one of the things that cannot ever go right in any game. If you offer both keyboard/mouse and joystick controls, one of the two control schemes will suffer, and it might as well be uttely devastating, especially in PVP or higher PVE campaign difficulties (assuming there will be difficulty levels). Either those with joysticks will stand no chance because the game's pace is too fast and favors free aiming with a mouse, which is simply put the superior pointing device in such a situation or it plays more like a sim and the mouse controls are so crap you can't even begin to use them - think Privateer 2 or the original X-Wing or TIE Fighter. This also applies to gamepads and is the primary reason why game developers won't let them console peasants play shooters with their PC masters. They pretend that it is about costs (*cough* Destiny *cough*) while in reality the console heroes would have their arses kicked to the moon and back and the game would be impossible to balance in PVP and co-op PVE.

...yeah, except that you will lose the war eventually because for all your tactical acumen your overall strategy failed.

That's fairly simple, because voice acting is seen as an easy job that pays exceedingly well for it being only a couple of hours of work per week. After all Mark Hamill once said it's a good job where you can show up in your pyjamas, and who is to argue with Luke Skywalker?
