Do you think KOTOR 3 is already being developed?
Darth Ni replied to EldestCosmonaut's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Xenon? Whats the Xenon? POWER TO THE NOBLE GAS CONSOLE!!! Hades, how are the people incharge of finances also incharge of Game Storylines? You must mean everybody in LucasArts is a bunch of idiots. Well, I would agree then aslong as you dont consider the developers idiots too because they have to follow LA's stupid instructions... -
Force Persuasion... I doubt that she'd refuse then

I see your point Ulicus but Revan's power is also growing. Ofcourse, Revan may not be progressing at the same rate the Exile is... Not to digress from the topic here but Revan and the Exile seem like the U.S. and China. During the early 19th century, the U.S. was far from a world superpower. This can be compared to Revan's childhood. After the civil war, the country experienced a state of unprecedented growth with Industrial production increasing exponentially and great improvements in technology. This can be compared to when Revan is fighting in the Mandalorian wars and his power growing by leaps and bounds. Over the course of 200 years, the U.S. had established itself as an industrial, economic and military power. In China in the 19th century, they suffered a humiliating defeat during the Opium Wars. This can be compared to the Exile's exile (pardon the pun) from the Jedi order. China's situation gradually worsened as during the early 20th century, it had been invaded by almost every major power and had suffered another devastating blow at the hands of the Japanese. However, in 1949 after the communists took power, China gradually began to establish itself as a world power. With the U.S.S.R's help, it had bolstered its military might and after the economic reforms introduced by Deng Xiaoping in the 1970s, its economic might began to grow. The U.S.S.R. could be compared to Kreia helping the Exile develop his powers. Also, Deng's Economic Reforms could also hint the Exile's growing power. *NOTE* I am just giving examples here. I know many people on this forum think the U.S.S.R. and the PRC weren't exactly the best things to happen to the world but the scenario (when you take away the politics) looks similar to the scenario in KotOR II. It just seems similar. The U.S.S.R. certainly wasn't a friendly or humble nation that wanted to help because they felt that they were morally inclined to do so. Neither was the PRC and it was responsible for the invasion of 9 countries so as I said, LEAVE THE POLITICAL RELATIONS AND POLICIES OF THESE COUNTRIES OUT OF IT. Both countries are very powerful no doubt China is always a step behind the U.S. China may in the future overtake the U.S. as the dominant power the sameway the Exile as you say may overtake Revan.

heh, those same idiots thought KOTOR was the best game of 2003. Kotor2 doesn't seem to have the instant appeal of the original. It takes more effort to get the best out of. Some people will like that, others will not. I wouldn't call them idiots though. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well maybe all the smart people from last year left them
-
Who cares what they think? Are you them? In the end, its you who plays the game so reviews can only tell you so much... And, a review is a person's opinion. There are different types of people (idiots who place graphics above all else and sane ones) and they each percieve the game differently. I think most FPS games are stupid because they don't have a properly developed story. Some people think that FPS games are cool because they like blowing people up with their rocket launchers and they give the game a high score. So, it depends on what game type you like. I think KotOR II sounds great but Wired news doesn't (Because they are idiots ofcourse...).

I generally cheat, how about you? Well, I only cheat AFTER I've beaten the game w/o cheats.
-
This statement may unwittingly make the thread move in unadvisable directions. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ok, sorry. :D I am currently playing KotOR1 again, maybe I ll find the conversation. I remember it happen in the late game, when it becomes obvious that in the past, your character was Darth Revan. Bastila is with the jedi strike team that board Revan
-
Wait, isn't it possible to create/breakdown all these items yourself? I would prefer that over relying on someone.
-
Look at all the things Revan has done: He saved the galaxy from the Mandalorian conquest and commanded 1/3rd of the republic fleet at the end of the war He sought out the starforge on his own (because Malak was a dumbass)... Twice He then became the Dark Lord of the Sith and could've pretty much taken over the entire galaxy He survived some type of serious wound on the bridge of his flagship Even though he had a mindwipe (which took the entire jedi council to do), he still had traces of his past life and still discovered he was the Dark Lord (that shows remarkable strength of will) He defeated Bastila in a lightsaber duel even when she called upon the power of the starforge 3 times during the conflict... (LS ending not DS ending) He defeated the dark lord of the Sith all on his own even though Malak was fighting like a cheapass being able to call upon the power of 8 jedi What the exile do? He got exiled... and on top of that, he didn't even keep up with the news.

Is There Anyway To Put Your Robe Hood Up?????
Darth Ni replied to darthrock's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Imagine if they put 2 GeForce 6800 Ultra Extreme Editions with the SLI Connector in there. That would certainly increase performance by quite a bit huh? :D -
so, how about Replayability?
Darth Ni replied to Sabahattin Dere's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I managed to play KotOR I about 6 times. After that, I attempted to play it again but I just got so bored of it that I uninstalled it. KotOR II will keep my attention for a longer time because of all the different classes, party members, endings etc. -
*I approach the same developer a little while later "*Grumbles*, who are you? Are you another user coming to complain about KotOR 2?" 1) Watch your tongue, or I'll remove it 2) Don't get upset, I'll be going now 3) I'm not here to yell at you "Oh, sorry. Thats nice, what can I help you with?" 1) GET KotOR II OUT FOR PC WITH NEW ADDONS AND NO BUGS! 2) [Force Persuade] You will release KotOR II with addons for the PC [success] Yes... I will release with addons....

How many devs still working on the pc version?
Darth Ni replied to Demigod's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I know, so sad that there will be no addons like new modules or lightsabers.... Atleast there will be fewer bugs -
Do you think KOTOR 3 is already being developed?
Darth Ni replied to EldestCosmonaut's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Considering LucasArts' financial situation right now, I doubt what you are saying will happen. The reason they needed KotOR II so badly was because they were losing money. Maybe through KotOR II, Republic Commando and Battlefront, they manage to make a profit, there will be a chance we will see a non-rush KotOR III. -
which character do you like best for love quests??
Darth Ni replied to BastilaShan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wait junior, I read somewhere that for a female PC, Visas Marr is a possible romance option. This is when I'm like huh? Even Atton is better then. -
Hopefully they will use a new engine :D
-
If people were unhappy w/ KotOR, its because LA rushed its development. LA was losing money so they needed a big money maker like KotOR II. Its also why they laid off 31 employees including members of the KotOR III pre-production team. Hopefully if enough people buy KotOR II, they might decided to fix its problems and deliver a better PC version.

Darth Ni replied to BastilaShan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its a combination of a lot of things. The main objection I have with engagin in a relationship with her is: she is a bisexual. I have no problem with them as long as I don't see it or I am not forced to take part in a bisexual relationship. I don't have a problem with blind people its just that I would prefer someone who has all their five senses functioning properly... Third, she is a dark jedi. I don't want to have a relationship with someone who is loyal to the Sith. I cant really comment on anything else because I don't know too much about her -
Spike TV video game awards
Darth Ni replied to Darth Riker Ketra's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I HATE FPS type games. but I have to agree with Spooky Electric. No other game can match HL2. The amount of work in developing such a complex engine is mind boggling. Amazing is the impressive details of the game such as facial impressions, interaction with almost every object etc. No GTA game deserves a GOTY because they all lack a proper storyline (which is an integral part of any game). -
She looked better in the concept art though Ostkant.

What makes Kotor distinguishable...
Darth Ni replied to G@mbIT's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't know, when I was level 17 and above, I felt I could walk around the unknown world alone and take on just about anything. I didn't feel too much need for them unless I wanted to talk w/ them. Some characters were definetly interesting companions though... -
That is in almost every game. Even in the original KotOR, we had to go through 4 levels of the Star Forge. During this time, there were countless Sith Assasins and Troopers coming in wave after wave. The final battle took forever to reach. Even when we were fighting Malak, we had to take out all 8 jedi whcih was a real pain in the @$$.

Darth Ni replied to BastilaShan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well, she's older than Handmaiden or Visas Marr. I don't think she's 40 or over. Still a perfectly good romance option and is much better than the others. Also, I dont desire same sex relationships. -
Yea it just said "before Malak's power became too great".
-
Its on the KotOR main site Lacan. There is no point of the X and XI Chronicles since we know what happens in KotOR. COTR 9 was a good place to stop since not too many of us have beaten KotOR II so its better not to write about something which the majority of people have not seen. Also, the general majority of us know what happened in KotOR so its pointless to have them.
