A lot of landscaping has been done on the Roost in the last few days and then a Canada Day BBQ with good friends.

Always nice to have time to have assumptions confirmed ... an interesting side note: my most memorable AD&D Character was an Assassin/Cleric LE - hmmm ....

I am feeling the need to add the following: The 'normative' perception of Christian, Islamic and, in general, Judaic informed interpretation of sexual orientation remains textually, not contextually, based. That having been said, there are authoritative challenges (i.e Liberation Theology) that effectively challenge the sweep that is occurring within this thread. I do not mean to suggest that the POV raised are 'wrong,' but I would offer that they are not exhaustive ...

There is always a hope to walk that balance of open dialogue with an expectation of civility and respect. The lines and the context sometimes get blurred. So, we do the best we can, both as members of this community and those who also choose to nurture the community here. Remember the civility and respect part - with those two things in place, most conversations - even the most contentious - can foster great dialogue ... otherwise then you end up with fora that Jorian has hinted at ... gratefully that is not what we have here ... again that general adherence to civility and respect help ensure that is in fact the case ...
