  1. Please do avoid the hyperbole, it means I have to move, make decisions on baiting and trolling and generally work - I like the Roost, let me stay ... *wonders if that was too subtle .... FLoSD.ObE
  2. Thanks B0S_Hybrid, I heard that and for me it does not make a difference.
  3. Thanks mkreku, I know from my googling it should work and does - my real concern is whether the PS3 is able to Group music according to Artist and such when it is not on the internal HDD. Apparently the OS does not like directories so you have to ensure your directory structure on an external is like that on the internal.

  5. Well I think I am finally going to get a console and it seems the PS3 is it. I am wondeirng if people who are using the console also as a mdeia hub could share if they are doing the following and, if so, what their experience is. I am going to buy an external HDD (probably 1TB) and then connect it to a USB port on the PS3, in order to access MP3s, photos and such. This way it allows for the media to be portable and accessible to other stations (i.e. notebooks). My question is: Is anyone doing this? How is the performance? Glitches? Challenges to this approach? Thanks, ahead of time, for anyone's input! F

  8. Well ... hmmm ... okay ... nope ... but ... I have nothing articulate to say it seems. Perhaps we could try to stay somewhat OT - the intent seems to be about gender and gaming ...

  10. Well I have been most appropriately impressed by our wee community here. I have had several PMs concerning this closure and it seems that there is a strong desire to acknowledge that this post was not intended to solicit, but to share. After taking seriously these voices, I feel that it makes sense to unlock this thread. I thank you all who PM'd me of the reminder that there are people here who not only troll and bait, but care and respect one another. Now to go take my happy moment to the Roost with thanks, F
  11. Thanks for sharing your accomplishment Nightshape - I hope you indeed have a sense of accomplishment! Krezack, however, is correct. It is a slippery slope to allow soliciting, even from regular members of the community. Iw ill close the thread down and please do know that this seems like something that should be a plume in your hat F

  17. Oh look, sand out of the box. Perhaps if people really need to personalise their discussions, PM could be used (this is direction not inquiry). If not, I guess moving from the Roost will follow ... remember, don't worry what someone else says, just take some time to consider what you are going to say. It's all about choices and I like to choose to do nothing when everyone posts with butterflies and sunshine, not baiting and trolling ... FLoSD.ObE

  20. Well welcome back GM! As for Oner - nice is when people post in a way that does not require me to do anything ... not nice is when I have to move in order to ensure we are a welcoming place for newbs and olds who might be returning ...
  21. I think this is numbers' and Oner's way of saying: "Yes we are. We just have a tendency to be shy and deflect our desire to be welcoming by sometimes spilling some sand out of the box." Welcome and do feel free to report the trolls if they make a mess of the sandbox
