  1. Stormtroopers of Death are awesome, Ive seem them live once!
  2. Before you ask yourselves why we would nuke the middle-east, we should all just take a minute to contemplate why we SHOULDNT nuke it. I mean, we've got all these nukes that are just collecting dust and the middle-east is just sitting there, all wide stretches of desert and even more desert. We could start slow, maybe drop maybe 4-5 nukes there and noone would even know, then we could gradually drop more and more nukes as people start getting used to the idea. I mean, come on. be reasonable here, its a win-win deal for everybody. Sure, nuke the most democratic countries in the Middle East, why not. You know those are actually.. you know, pretty much in the same country. You mentioned it before, small place, lots of jewish people.
  3. Everyone on my side of the atlantic more or less. All my friends, everyone at uni, the press... the consensus was that Wicther was another somewhat interesting but inherently crippled euro rpg.
  4. Everyone said Witcher was rubbish when it came but I played Chapter one EE now and its quite good. Being on this forum here I'll try to be gentle, but The Witcher makes NWN2 seem like it was made by a gang of drooling idiots. Its prettier, its runs better, it doesnt crash all the time, the story is actually interesting, the characters less annoying, the animations doesnt make the characters look like they had polio as children... its undeniably a rather large step up in terms of quality.
  5. Playing Heavenly Sword with swedish voiceovers was hillarious.... retarded, but hillarious. Probably cost Sony a small fortune to record :D edit: The polish voiceovers are not as good as the english ones, IMO. I dont know polish but they dont sound like theyre giving it much effort, and the recording is not as good either.
  6. But first chapter in the grand rulebook of gamedesign starts something along the line of "if combat is your main gameplay, then youd better make a game with great f'cking combat." This rule is more or less always blatantly disregarded in CRPG's. I dont know why, some people might say its tradition, others say that its because most CRPG players are morons who'll settle for anything as long as they get to grind rats in basements and run back and forth in the same tiny area for thirty days because the developers had to fill out those 40h+ of gameplay they promised despite only having actual material for 10.
  7. I think it would have been better if they would have gone diablo and had "one click - one slash", that way you would atleast feel like youre actually doing something instead of just waiting for the right icon to show.
  8. Does combat get any better? All I do is wait for the flaming sword icon to show up and then click and repeat until the enemy is dead.
  9. Wouldnt it work if you downloaded a copy of the enhanced game without cracking it and then used it with your original disc?
  10. I say everyone vote here for fun, then we can have a US only poll later I wonder if we should really leave so important a decision to US Citizens, I mean, look at their track record. "Urr, I reckon' dat Bush fella did a pretty darned job with them whatevers he was doin'. Im votin' for 'im. Faaawr moore yeeh-ahrs!!"
  11. And everyone should remember that the main reason a game does not sell well is because its bad, not because of piracy. GTA4 was released several days in advance and the amount of downloads was staggering, yet it sold a gazillion copies. Too Human didnt have nearly as many downloads, but it sold like **** because its a ****ty game. And consoles have a massive pirate market. Here in Sweden there is atleast one or three shops in every larger town that will hack your console for a small fee, if you cant do it yourself. The PS3 doesnt have a stable hack yet, but every other console, stationary or portable is pirateble. And downloading and using pirated console games is much easier than on the PC, you just burn the iso, stick it in the drive and youre ready to go, no fuss at all. You can evn connect a hardrive to the Wii and play the games without having to burn them first. ..so yes, there is absolutely no piracy problem with consoles and we should all put our faith in sony and microsoft to save the dying gaming market
  12. IF you switch to another characer model, you're stuck with that characters outfit, right? Or does it show up on the new char when you switch armor?
  13. Jeremy Clarkson gets reported for something every single time he makes an apperance in the media, and that just makes you love him even more. Entire countries(malaysia, germany) have tried to drag him to court but to no avail. He's definently on of the top figureheads for compulsive rebels/trolls like me.
  14. One recent British thing that I have trouble with is . He is somewhat funny at times, but mostly its really cheap stuff and I was a bit amazed that he's so popular. One thing I do love is and thats not even a comedy show, its just really funny. I dont even have a proper drivers license, but I watch every episode with semi-religious zeal nontheless. Its nice because Jeremy Clarkson seems to suffer from the same failiure to manage his brain-to-mouth rephlex as I have. (I was almost expelled from uni AGAIN this week for being rude and offensive... in a really funny and clever way, of course.)
  15. I tried playing the first thingie in the castle and the village. First impressions: +good voice acting +good animations +no eleves, fairies or dragons yet - combat is rubbish - long white hair on men is not, nor has it ever been, cool. - there were mentions of elves, fairies and dragons
  16. Ive only seen seasons 1 and 2 of little britain but they were mostly good, your really bad shows seldom make it abroad. My definite favorites are 1 Boris the babysitter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ47qMosKV4...feature=related 2 Mr Man rents a video
  17. This is kind of like way back when I was playing a mod, and when people started complaining about a certain feature on their forums, they just banned everyone who complained, anyone who mentioned the bans, and they forbade any further mention of said topic. Thats brilliant community management.
  18. A friend of mine got it, he said it was decent but the quests were very generic and dull in the beginning, is that true?
  19. I think its alot like "we have over 300 dishes on our menu, but they're all combimnations of peas with spam". It doesnt change the fact that all the player ever does is press the keys 1-9, to use one of the powers while waiting for other powers to reload... or not, since you can have macros that does that for you automaticly, so you dont actually have to play the game. Its just so excruciatingly monotonous and dull, that I just cant imagine a sane person enjoying it. So the fact that there are millions of people who do enjoy this rubbish, makes me feel a bit like Ive woken up in a strange alien world where everyone wears watermelons on their feet and spends their free time performing coloscopies on eachother.
  20. If the key gameplay mechanic isnt fun, then that is definently bad game design. Obviously, you could say that is a matter of personal taste, but its more fun not to.
  21. The major factor is that MMO's contain very little actual gameplay. If you take WO, the only thing(the key mechanic) you can do is combat, and that combat is reduced to 1) click on an enemy 2) gently press the keys 1-9 to use your various attacks while watching tv or writing erotic fanfiction. Its a combat system that makes watching paint dry seem exciting. The only incentive one has to keep playing the game is to level up and get new stuff, but that stuff doesnt actually alter the gameplay in any way, so its kind of a hamsterwheel thing. Now, some people like to dress up as cartoon characters and eat fecal matter, but that doesnt worry me so much because its done in a small scale. The fact that millions of people choose to waste their time with MMO's, on the other hand, that makes me lose faith in humanity.
  22. I tried a bit of the open beta, and I hated it. Its just like every other MMO out there. Im actually horrified that so many millions of people actually enjoy playing this sort of non-game. ..well, I didnt hate it, it was just completely inane.
  23. But the positives outweigh that, first reading a text, clicking it and then hearing your character spout that exact line would make the dialogue kind of stale. With ME's dialogue system, you actually do listen to what both charcters say
  24. Or you could get on of them fancy new Intel X25 SSD drives, they're so fast its ridicilous.
  25. Not unless you're Volo. Starwars doesnt have any dragons, elves or magic items that have to be transported large distances only or assembled in order to defeat a villain
