  1. That's a load of crock. You always work with the highest resolution textures, then you downsize them to medium and low versions. Also, Volo is right again.
  2. A friend of mine says Bioware released the PC version with the low-res, highly compressed textures for the 360 version and now they've realised the mistake and are offering a 'patch' with the proper textures. Things like that makes me think that BioWare doesnt really care about the franchise. (Which is completely right, imo. They should drop it completely)
  3. This is old news. They've known microbial life exists in space for over ten years. They found traces of bacteria on Mars, for instance. Organic life is way more tenacious than youd think, and the necessary circumstances for creting it are not that rare. You need carbon, water and energy of some sort. And a couple of million years or so.
  4. Im still completely hooked on iRacing. What makes it even dumber is that Im mostly racing in the NASCAR leagues, because real cars on actual tracks that have corner are just too hard against the kind of nutjobs who uses iracing. People are taking that game waaaay too seriously.
  5. Uncharted wasnt bad. AC on the other hand, I dont know anyone who managed to play more than half of it, its just too dull
  6. Well, it's not exactly hard to best "Kane & Lynch" so I wouldnt feel too bad about it (my BFBC2 name is "Rat Faced Granny" and I have the EA download version so no steam)
  7. They tried to get hardware DRM locked into the CPU a few years ago. People hated the idea so they didnt go through with it for PC systems, Apple on the other hand were thrilled by the idea.
  8. The reason why console games gets released well before release is because the distributors and other are careless with the products. And the games doesnt need cracking, so any warehouse employee can just take it home and copy it. PC games have tighter security and have DRM systems on the discs that need to be hacked, which requires skill and time. And the people who crack games do it to prove how good they are, not because they want kids to be able to play it for free. It's all about creds and reputation
  9. I wonder how long we have to wait until an eastern european sweatshop gets ordered to make a piss-poor PC port of it? Alan Wake seems to have killed my 360 in mysterious ways so that road is closed.
  10. BFBC2 is very sniper-centric. You will absolutely rape other classes in hardcore mode where you can instakill from across the map
  11. I bet you liked that retarded and annoying battle with the giant fish.
  12. I hate all bosses in all games, I just dont like the whole "shoot him for 20min til he dies, gets full health again for some reason, then shoot again" cliche. I did like the lambent thingie in GoW2 though, you only shot it a few times and that was it, easy breezy!
  13. Maryland/Virginia isnt even remotely desert-ish. Fallout must always be set in a desert. Fallout anywhere else is like sci-fi that's not in space.
  14. yellow and purple are contrast colours, which means that if you look at lots of yellow stuff everything is going to be tinted pruple afterwards. same with red and green. and since there are hundreds of visual mods for FNV, which one does what I want it to do? To remove all colour filtering everywhere.
  15. obviously.
  16. Started playing FNV again and now I see just how ****ed up the yellow colour filter is. Whats the easiest and quieckest way to remove it and see everything in normal, unfiltered colour?
  17. Cant you customize your PC in DA2? Are you stuck with that guy on the cover?
  18. Still, they had an idea and they carried it out to 100%. Even if it was just "lets make a fun FPS" that kind of dedication and skill is very rare. Id rather have an awesome porkchop than a crappy filet mignon.
  19. Arma could be good, but too many missions failed because of crap you have no control over. So its basicly just randomness.
  20. I think it will probably just be a cliffhanger ending to set up Dragon Age 3.
  21. I didnt pay for it, actually. A friend wanted to play it so badly he splashed out and got everyone a gift package. Which was nice, but we only played about 2 hours total before giving up. But then I dont like dungeon crawling hack n slash games like Diablo or Dungeon Siege. If you like that kind of thing, and the whole fighting game "press up, up, down, shift+1, spacebar to throw a spell" gameplay system, then it might be a game for you. One thing I had issues with was that it has friendly fire as a big part of the gameplay, but it doesnt tell you if a friend hit you or if you hit a friend. So when there are four players all spamming spells left and right, you WILL get killed and not know if it was friend or foe. We like to mess with eachother but its impossible with this game, because you wont know if it was your mate or just another enemy that got you
  22. The rule with Bulletstorm is more of "Do you enjoy FPS games?" because if you do, then you will enjoy this game. And dont get the console versions that have auto-aim, because that defeats the whole meaning of skillshots. No, Gears of War is awesome and you have dodgy taste in games.
  23. I think its set in the Gears of War universe, so thats what the general feel is like. Except this is a fast-paced FPS, not a cover-based shooter.
  24. Got it, hated it.
  25. I didnt go in with any expectations here, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Ive only played it for about an hour but the gameplay is slick and spot on. Ive also not encountered any performance issues, im running it 1920x1200 with an old GTX 260 and its fast and smooth just like an U3 game should be.
