Strategy is when you lean back, study the battlefield, come up with a plan that takes advantage of the terrain and strengths of your units in order to accomplish you goal, and then you carefully set the plan in motion. Now RTS is about building fast!fast!fast! and rushing the enemy with your horde of units. The trick is to mutlitask between your units to spam out their special powers and your base to spam out even more units. In your average RTS game, speed is the major kill factor.

Meh, If it isnt turn-based strategy, it isnt strategy at all. RTS games are more action and than anything else since its all about speed and coordination.

My experience with people who dont drink is that they are either: 1. On some kind of medications preventing them from drinking (penicillin) 2. They have to stay sober because theyre driving home 3. Religious nuts 4. Boring 5. Plain weird 6. Recovering alcoholics 7. Doing drugs that dont mix well with alcohol So if someone doesnt drink you get suspicious. You cant. In fact, if you read the license agreement of most games today. It states you are forbidden to lend or sell your game on. That means even more money for the devs, since you have to buy the game to play it.. well, unless youre a pirate but Im sure noone here would ever dream of pirating anything " But to compensate for this, I would have some sort of "frequent flier" system on the DD service so that you got one game for free for ever 5 bought or some such.

Its easy to drink in moderation, a beer or three in the summer sun with your friends. A big party once in a while. Everyone does it, except people who havent grown out of their geek phase and religious nuts. Drugs are different beast; more addictive and much more dangerous in both toxicity and the effects on the brain.

Well, if any of you people can figure out a way to distribute properly packaged CD's wordwide, without going through publisher>distributor>retailer and in that process giving up 90% of the profits, then out with it! Its software, the cheapest and most effective way to get it from A to B is to send it through the net.

Some people might be able to get better deals but thats what we're told to expect. The happy days of developers making millions out of hit games is over. Its exactly the same in the music bussiness, the actual creators of the product get the smallest piece of the cake. The last game I bought through Steam was Red Orchestra which cost me $29, the retail version costs around $40 The article clearly states that Valve supplies STEAM distribution for free if you make a game with the SOURCE engine. So its a fixed sum, not a percentage of every game sold. Still, its probably a great deal of money and thats another reason why STEAM sucks. The ideal is a dev cooperation where distribution is supplied at self-cost or perhaps even free of charge if it could be ad-driven.

This sounds plain awesome. Ill pre-order, pre-load ro whatever I need to do to support him and his team. If this succeeds, it could be a big precedent in the way you can make games which could REALLY help the indie market make games the way want to make and we want to play.

I think this is something really worth reading in connection with the discussion we had before on Online distribution systems versus the traditional model of Publisher>Distributor>Retailer We all know STEAM sucks, but its the way of getting games directly from the devs to consumers that is interesting. And hopefully, there will be better, more effective and less intrusive services in the near future, possibly run as cooperations between developers. Here McCarthy explains the benefits of online dist. versus going via publishers etc.

But still I remember that puzzle was quite logical. You just need to figure out which symbol means which statue and the turn them so they lead the signal from the statue in the scene with the stickmen to the sleeping man. Sadly, our visiting demonic GM had to bugger off earlier than expected and so the game will not continue. During play I did of course, undertake several minor attempts at undermining the adventure but I was at all times hindered by the GM and his 1337 NPCs. Right before the game ended I befouled a temple in sheer contempt, whereupon I was hit by some sort of curse which I countered by knocking myself unconscious.
