  1. What level are you at now ?
  2. The collectors edition is really nice. The book is especially interesting (although they are no way my favourite games I've been playing them since Arena). The coin is really cool, it looks like a proper coin. Don't know about the DVD I havnt watched it yet.
  3. Someone should teach the NPC's the yield command. Although I havnt seen anything particularly whacky except for some really bad pathfinding in combat.
  4. Easiest quest ever (main plot) Go find place X and get item Y. "Er you mean this item Y I have in my pocket" ?
  5. He's sort of right if less than diplomatic. The more people who play CRPGs who did not come from a PnP background the less relevent PnP will become to CRPG design. Although on the other points he's dead wrong.
  6. Any of the Metal Gears.
  7. Well the character is just one more person in the setting. But the player is something else entirely. Of course there is a huge grey area when it comes to what people find fun. I wasnt really that bothered when most of my spare stuff disapeared from the mages guild. I havnt come across anyone solving quests yet. I've had people jump in and help out (which makes things harder since your trying to avoid them). Someone should get it into their heads to solve the main quest. Now that would be funny. I'm generally finding the same thing with Oblivion as with the other Elder Scrolls games. Too much wandering is having an adverse effect on the plot. I've just been told to go and find something that I've already found It makes me wonder if this sort of game actually needs some sort of plot since the story isnt grabbing me at all and the more I wander around the more detached I become from it. On the other hand the MMPORG elements work remarkably well.
  8. Yes I found that out the hard way. Couple of K of stuff stored in the guild hall got replaced by some clothes. I expected to find everyone down the pub or something. Wasnt actually that annoyed my own fault for storing things in a "public" place. According to the icon though opening my own door is a criminal act
  9. Got my house. Well more of a shack really in Bravil. Does the job though and the small town means less effort in selling stuff. Found some nice glass toys and the staff I created (remind anyone else of creating a lightsaber?) has soul steal so now coupled with journeyman repair I pretty much own the zone at the moment I'm thinking of recruiting a rat to max out heavy armour might take a while, but should save a lot of time in the long run.
  10. Don't see how KOTOR III could be called a suprise.
  11. Thanks. I havnt visited a castle yet. Supposed to go to one later for one of the quests.
  12. If it walks like a duck qacks like a duck and waddles like a duck it dosnt matter where it comes from.
  13. I need a house how do I go about getting one ? I'm carrying around a ton of stuff I "might" want to use. Thing is , it means I cant move unless I cast that anti burden spell.
  14. I've found a couple of recipes on scrolls. Normally I just look at the effects of items and combine the ones I want. Unless I'm just practicing , in which case combining two foods makes a restore fatigue potion at the lowest level. It's a pretty good way to make some early cash too. Join guild, steal all their food (which isnt a criminal act once you join) and then make as many food based potions as you can. Most of the good effects wont show up until your at least at level 25 at which point healing potions are easy to make. Time consuming though.
  15. Thats not really a good thing though is it ? I dont think the intention is for you to win through poor AI manipulation.. Alchemy I find superior to healing spells, but the way potions work is rather cheap since you can pause and glub as many as you like. One thing I've found is if you play the game like an MMPORG it becomes a lot easier. It's actually quite similiar in so many respects (like as you level things become that much harder to kill). Using a bow to "pull" single creatures while stealthed for example is a tried and true EQ tactic. As is charming a creature then pulling another one before the charm breaks. I did the next bit of the main quest and pretty much walked it. It's amazing what a difference a 19 damage weapon makes (w00t) . I still use the old 5 damage axe for one on one encounters with non spell throwers though, isnt fast , but it pays from both a player and a character perspective. Anyone who really enjoys Oblivion that much and hasnt tried an MMPORG really should. They are so similiar, it's rather eerie. The only thing missing is not sitting down to "heal up". And waiting around for spawns to pop up.
  16. Which heal spell are you using ?
  17. Umm I thought about it. But no.
  18. I need to raise my merchant skill, any tips on how to do it without dying of boredom?
  19. Baley is that you ?
  20. Nothing better to do right now :D
  21. Funny thats what the othert religions used to say before christianity came along. Not the jesus part obviously. Compared to the sum total of human history christianty is just the latest fad.
  22. Except if you dont buy into the whole jesus myth then that dosnt matter anyway. If it means hanging around with people like you for eternity you know where he can put his offer...
  23. Not capable of casting it. I should have been able to say heres over there though since I found him. He just keeps telling you to go away.
  24. Oh yeah heres something not to do. I stored a load of spare items in a cupboard in one of the mages guilds. This morning they were all gone !!! In their place were a bunch of clothing items.
