  1. Currently maxing out heavy armour so I have more space to carry junk. Making a feather 200 so I have even more space to carry junk. I might do some more plot stuff before looking for some other shrines. One question. If you complete the plot does the game end ?
  2. I started off with it at 75% because of my experience with Morrowind. I've been doing divine blood with mostly destruction spells. Although now with Azzura's star and soul tap I can recharge things more or less at will. My character dosnt really have enough magika to spam anything exept stuff like flare and minor heal.
  3. So why would a machine that was just constructed of a different material not have the same ghestalt ?
  4. Dont see why not. Humans are only organic machines. The question is would the creators allow them that freedom.
  5. No I used to play the first one a lot but I've not really bothered with any of the more recent MMPORGs.
  6. Bought one of those to play Oblivion. It's a noisy beast.
  7. I'm branching off into summoning. One of the things about the series is how it shapes your character. One on one I can take anything my level (at the moment) even two on one if I use the correct spells. Anything more than that and I'm a spot on the cave floor. Thats really where scaling hurts, since everything is your level, when there are more of them than there are of you. I lost my horse too mountain lion bounded right past me and went straight for the horse. The horse ran and the lion ran it down. Impressive AI but still upsetting since I've had it from the start.
  8. Mostly playstation.
  9. Like the internet you mean Thing is if they are that smart they are not going to take kindly to being slave labour. Unless you program them with some sort of "service" protocol. But that can be dangerous too. Since I dont particularly buy into the humans are special idea. Anything that could have that level of sentience would have the same rights as "squishies"(thats us btw).
  10. Yep you can totally own a RAT (w00t)
  11. I'm much more comfortable with the controller than I was when Morrowind came out. It does take a very long time to break those sorts of habbits though.
  12. You could always create a character where you can dictate the pace. If I've learned anything from playing the game it's that you dont major in skills your going to use. If you want to be really "strict" on your leveling , then it's also a good idea to pick at least one from each stat group. For example Blade Hand to Hand and then only use them when you want to level up. Ditto with magic schools. Major in ones you never intend to use. Speechcraft is another one, just dont play the speech game.
  13. Animals have a fixed level. Rats are level 1. Wolves 6 Cougars 10 Bears 16 (got that off the TES boards). Although the animals scale(as to which you encounter at what level), so you should not run into a bear at level 1
  14. But thats basically saying you have no choice but to powergame.
  15. I picked some really "bad" skills when it comes to fast leveling. Blade - Heavy Armour - Block - Restoration - Although I'm familiar enough with the Elder Scrolls to offset that it's just not possible early on because it's very fast indeed.
  16. It's got to be one of the most logic defying games though. I mean your better off if you minor the skills you will use a lot because you will end up stronger than if you major them. Your also better off picking a character with low skill bonuses for the same reason. It's just odd... Your comparitively stronger at level 1 than you are at level 20 to scaling enemies.
  17. Well since I never mentioned magic probably not. Are they as good as the ones that pop up when you are level 20 ?
  18. How much have you been playing with the slider?
  19. It will be interesting to see if you still feel that way at level 20.
  20. I think one of the most defining things about Oblivion for me is this. In most RPGs leveling up is something to look forward too. In Oblivion it's something to avoid.
  21. More like Jade Empire than KOTOR when it comes to NPCs.
  22. Well in most RPGS you need to level to complete the main quest. In Oblivion, you apparently dont need to level at all in order to do that. I've seen one quest that had a level requirment (. You could remove the levels completely and just have stats "level up" in the same way as skills. I doubt you would notice much if that way done. With 79 str and a glass mace I'm taking longer to kill a goblin than when I had 50 str and a rusty axe. Although the 19 damage sword is still overkill for singles in most cases. If you knew the locations in advance you could theoretically get the artifacts very early on. Although I don't know if they are fixed items or level dependent.
  23. None of the better gear exists at the start. It only appears as you level up. Even if you "manipulate" Merchant to make a ton of gold, it wont do you any good.
  24. Ah well he should know more than I do anyway. I'm just speaking from my experiences of playing the game. He was in on making it.
