  1. Some creatures have a maximum level. I read somewhere over on the TES board that after a while nothing new appears as an "upgrade". Don't know if that is what you are encountering or not but it sounds likely. I'm not sure any weapons have permenant effects. But surely you can afford to carry around a couple of 100 grand soul stones by now ?
  2. Hello
  3. I'm pretty sure the points are how many bonus points to the disposition you get. So if someone is on 50 and you hit them with a 20 point charm they will be at 70. My experiences of being a vampire seem to back that up (since people were quite reluctant to talk before being charmed).
  4. Well a blu ray could do it no problem. But I still don't think it's worth the work involved. The largest problem as I see it in making KOTOR III too close to the events in the other games is that you will alienate anyone knew to the series who wont have the same connections to the characters. In KOTOR II for example it didnt matter if you knew who Revan was or not. It made no particular difference to how the game played out.
  5. If you like. I was just transposing the Star Wars story onto KOTOR.
  6. Thats not reality thats luck. Want an example ? My new character closes the first gate at level 2 finds a sigil stone which makes an 18 damage weapon with 80 charges. You want a laughably easy game ? You got it. My previous character didnt find a weapon like that till someway into the main plot and after having had to take on Kvatch. At which point he was something like level 15 or 16.
  7. If you "abused" the item creation then yes it was. If you didnt , they were about even. Although GOTO's place with only two characters (took a wrong turn) and neither of them having destroy droid was quite a challenge. Purely random loot yes. A game does need to provide a minimal set of "tools" for you to accomplish your task. However a good mix of random loot can also make replaying more interesting as you cant simply predict what will drop at any time. Random loot does tend to annoy people who always want to have the best stuff though.
  8. Perhaps because K1 wasnt any challenge at all ? As NwN in space, it was all quite familiar stuff. The item creation in K2 definately meant you could own the game if you really wanted too. But I find that with item creation in most games. It's whether or not you trust the player to use and not abuse it. Otherwise item creation becomes integrel rather than than optional which restricts just how you can build characters.
  9. I thought finding the vampire cure while resisting the urge to feed was one of the more interesting parts of the game. It took me longer to find the "common" elements than the rare ones.
  10. I thought we are talking about next generation ?
  11. I think the Collosus horse felt much more horselike. Although I dont mind the riding. I do mind the getting stuck on the horse and being torn appart without being able to fight back.
  12. I'm going with the Bastila is over rated group.
  13. Waht??? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Their Oblivion review was lets say "rushed" thats why all the screenshots were grabbed from another source rather than whatever game the reviewer was playing.
  14. In Star Trek the link is the Enterprise.
  15. You would think it would be showing up on lists by now if that were the case.
  16. Is there a release date yet ?
  17. True. But while simple might be desirable for a 3 hour movie it's not for a 40 hour game which has the time to do more than just scratch the surface.
  18. I think Mira and HK-47 in their own bounty hunter spinoff.
  19. Shadowmir might be more your style. Problem I had with horses was how I kept getting stuck against either a piece of scenery or an attacking creature. I'm sure you could fight from horseback in Daggerfall.
  20. Every one of the Tales series I've played has been enjoyable.
  21. I think the Exile is more of an Obi Wan. He dosnt show off but when it comes down to it he's got what it takes. Revans more of a Vader, he's got the image thing but the reality dosnt really equal the hype. The Exile went into hiding much the same way Obi Wan did although for what purpose is left to the player to determine for themselves. So if you were to follow the SW formula as a story for KOTOR III you would get something like this. The new PC character would be "found" by the Exile. Some sort of message would lead them to the unknown worlds where Revan would have become the apprentice of whatever Sith is running the show. At a time when the PC is clearly not ready they would meet. The Exile would sacrifice his life so the PC and his friends could escape (and then become the hint voice munch like Ben did).
  22. Not from the staff. The staff know me they even put stuff I might be interested in behind the counter .When I got my 360 they had sold out of CE versions of Oblivion but gave me a regular one and told me to return it after I tracked down a CE version online.
  23. And you come across as such a sweet and innocent thing I'll have a look during my next trip into town. Last time I ended up buying 10 games and getting odd looks :">
  24. I think some MMPORGs have been doing it for a while and MMPORG players certainly have since UO days at the least. I think it's the first time I've heard of someone trying to charge for content so soon after the game was released though. Sales of Oblivion been disapointing or something ?
