  1. No, I am expressing a personal view in a calm and clear manner. But thanks for the thought! Might be wiki: the site is down at the moment. I can't understand why you continue to play the game, given your immense frustration with it. I am left to conclude that:You like being frustrated; You like moaning about being frustrated; You aren't very bright. Seriously, man, if the game bugs you so much, DON'T PLAY IT! Boot up KotOR, or Deus Ex or something else. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> See now while I would say you could make those sort of comments as a user and probably get away with it. I don't see it as a moderators role to make personal attacks on other members. So wookie (er hassat) is wise in his words.
  2. That depends entirely on what you happened to find during that level. Which you could cite as flaw if you felt like it. You could also see it as an indicator of how unimportant the character is compared to the characters equipment.
  3. Actually what I'm seriously not liking now is there isnt anywhere I can go where the game will be more challenging. Like when I was playing EQ some days I'd feel like a nice "easy" game so I would go to a zone where I was above most of the things in it. Sometimes I'd feel like more of a challenge so I'd go to a higher level zone. Thats not something you can do in Oblivion. I can "power" down my character (use less useful stuff etc) but I can do that in a game that dosnt have scaling anyway.
  4. Getting used to the new system.
  5. Leveling dosnt really give a game purpose. But it does give the player a goal. CRPG or MMPORG when you start off you are weak relative to the rest of the world. As you level you become stronger and can go places that would have killed you previously. That makes leveling a worthwhile "goal". When I was a poor level 5 character (in EQ) I got stepped on by a giant. The satisfaction when the character could actually kill giants was beyond measure. If you take a the main plot of a CRPG you as you start out the game (lets say KOTOR) dosnt have a chance of completing the plot. You need to train and get stronger in order to make that possible. This is where Oblivion differs. You dont need to to level to explore the world. You dont need to level to complete the main quest. Indeed the only real purpose of leveling is to activate the shiny toys further up the loot table.
  6. The truth is far more scary
  7. She is more photogenic than Gordon.
  8. Well lets see. 1. Too much luck involved. 2. Scaling can make the game both laughably easy or ridiculously hard depending on 1.
  9. Not for me. Unless it turns out to be good.
  10. I like Necromunda. Much less painting invovled.
  11. I blame the creationist debate I watched this moring.
  12. I did a couple of the Phoenix Wright cases before (first two I think) but they get much longer and much better. Kind of like playing a mix between an adventure game (talking to people, gathering evidence) and then using that evidence to win your cases. It's very good. Although like most advanture games on the short side (depending if you do or do not get stuck). Might pop over to Blockbusters and see whats on the rental shelf. DQ VIII seems to have done a vanishing act and probably wont arrive till next friday.
  13. I'm sure some will. But if you believe that the earth was created 6000 years ago in the face of the evidence availble. This wont breach your little bubble of reality.
  14. 2006/7 is going to be expensive.
  15. Summoned creatures are the best. But obviously not balanced for scaling. Since I did Kvatch at level 2 I havnt realy found anything difficult in this game. I like throwing spells when they go into block stance.
  16. Well I've been really impressed by the DS so if they follow the same innovation I'll find enough good stuff on the Revolution to make it worthwhile.
  17. Maybe it was glimpse into the future :D
  18. I think they used to be a lot more restrictive in what sort of games could be on their platform. But considering you have stuff like Requiem (worth the price of a GC alone) and RE4 I don't think that applies so much today.
  19. He could be his own brush with that head.
  20. Well you either join the mages guild and make stuff that costs huge ammounts of money (easy enough once your in the mid-high teens). Or you find a magic stone inside each gate which you can pop in any item you like. Because the stones are random you either have to cheat , get very lucky, or close a lot of gates to get a specific one.
  21. Why else would you have a hairstyle like that
  22. Considering that its only applied to the home consoles (the handhelds have huge support) I'd have to say it was something about crossplatforming with the machine. Perhaps the really small capacity of the mini disk ? And this time around the lack of HD and the having to do something special with the controller ? But from what I read in NoM the Revolution is very easy to work with (like a big GC) so you may see more small developers who cant afford the big buggets that the 360/PS3 might require.
