  1. They grow in the verges and around little ponds that you sometimes come acorss. Found one in the sewers too. Can't say that I have I'm still using the weak fireball you get as reward for something.
  2. Why the high scores ? Who knows. Are they deserved? On the whole probably not. However The Elder Scrolls games are unique when it comes to single player RPGs. I did have a rough period with the equipment/level balance. The first gate with a 3 damage weapon, not to be recomended. Damage shields on the clanfear meant I couldnt melee them without dying. The big difference here , is you cant level yourself over problem. If anything ,leveling will only make the problem worse.
  3. Yep although I dont overuse it like perhaps I should.
  4. You need to use it on some people to get certain dialogue which can lead to quests (Hunters run being one example). Also I found it helps with how much you can haggle up prices at a store as well. Maybe you need it more if you have a low personality score?
  5. I couldnt do that Eye of fear has really helped.
  6. Thats handy because the first couple of plot quets were pretty tough with the equipment I had.
  7. Maybe he "disapeared" "
  8. Aside from the very first part (the priory) I didnt really start the plot until level 12. Store bought steel plate was about the best I could find. Then I did a couple of the plot quests and now it's raining magic and elven/mithril items like no tommorow. I found a cave just outside of town and everyone in it had some sort of mithril or elven item. What I am wondering , is this. Is the equipment based on your level , or is it based on how far through the plot you are?
  9. What I was getting at is that the quest wouldnt allow you to finish it that way. You still had to follow the prescribed quest path in order to complete it.
  10. No idea. Suppose it's handy if your in a dark area but my kitty has "blue" vision (night vision in blue) so it's of no particular use generally. Although my game seems to be a lot less dark than the screenshots people have posted here. Could be because I'm playing it on a TV. And the aforementioned invisible things. Although most will cast and then immediately attack anyway.
  11. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Complex not a word that springs to mind is it
  12. Well the last quest I did today was one for the mages guild. Find an invisible mage. Although I found him (detect life very handy) I still had to go through the quest path before anyone would acknowledge it. And I thought using detect life was a rather clever way to find an invisible mage too.
  13. I think the score is going to be a reflection of what you do. If you do a lot of wandering about then you will become aware of just how much sameyness there is across the locations. Between 80 and 90 sounds about right.
  14. I think someones going to get locked up for their own protection in the not to distant future..
  15. Never seen that one. I have seen a couple of dancing rats though I've been playing for about 10 hours in total. It's getting a bit MMPORGish now though. The critters have scaled up so killing one will require healing (healing spells are awful for mana to health ratio) and two will put me close to death. In the Kvatch siege I had a couple of those annoying clanfears (with damage shields) a Deadra that kept summoning stuff. Some fire creatures (not sure what those were) and a couple of those fireball tossing imps (the upgraded version). Dwarven longsword doing 8 damage wasnt really cutting it.
  16. I've never completed an Elder Scrolls game
  17. 95 days till the 360 version is released.
  18. It is. But I think It's the sort of game where the score will drop as you play it.
  19. Are you joking? Oh and I'm playing The Godfather. Me likes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I want to play that. But I may as well wait and rent the 360 version.
  20. Well it's less brown than Morrowind so it's actually quite pleasent just riding around enjoying the countryside. Normally I walk or ride to locations and then fast travel back (very handy that). It still has the same "Generic Cave X" feeling that Morrowind had and thats apparent after only a couple of said caves. Tommorow I'm going to get on with the main quest.
  21. Splitting my time between Atelier Iris and Oblivion.
  22. Well I'm sure the 10/10 from Eurogamer was some sort of "mistake".. If you look at the review they actually use screenshots found on the game webpage. Theres not a single unique screenshot there. At he moment i'd be inclined to go around 90 as long as you like the Elder Scrolls model. Then again I've only just escaped the sewers so it's hardly a comprehensive score.
  23. Well according to legend you have to be female and a virgin to tame one. Impressive looking beastie though
