If you mean the skills lesson, then you need to ask her about something and she will tell you how the most powerful Jedi keep "grounded" by doing other things. At which point you need to increase your lowest skill. Doing so will give you a bonus to your lowest and highest skill. One of Kreias lessons is dependent on how many planets you have finished as well.

TSL Story From a Writers Perspective
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Master Dahvernas's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think the faults lie very much at the players feet myself. If you cant play the game without keeping to your character (because you want to know every little detail) then your cant really claim to be roleplaying can you. It took me four playthroughs from different angles to get the complete picture. Each character got a slightly different take on events, due to who they were closest to in the game. Which was superb. Compared to KOTOR where everyone stood around ready to spoonfeed you bits of the story whenever you gained a level it was a refrshing and much deeper way of doing things. Not perfect, of course but leagues ahead of the KOTOR system. Roleplaying should be about important choices. If that cuts you off from some aspects of the game (like not being able to turn certain characters because you dont have the same outlook so be it) I dont think it's something Obsidian needs to appologise for just because KOTOR gave it to you easy. -
Atton as soon as you meet the Twilek in the refugee sector. If you do Nar Shada first it's almost instant. Makes his solo fight a heck of a light easier too.

Can We Move On, Please?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Darth Jebus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Well I played the Xbox version 4 times bug free (or at least none that were noticable enough to spoil the game). I dont know If I was lucky, or if that just means the Xbox is a lot less buggy (seems likely given it's the same machine regardless). Chipped boxes aside, no sympathy there, they know the risks. Damaged CD's, yep it happens I had a damaged Fable CD , old boxes which need a good checkup etc. PC games, are universally buggy on a system level for whatever reason and patches are the norm. Getting annoyed at the fact that some people cant play the game without a tech patch is just dumb. A content patch on the other hand is a case of playing favourites. If it's done by some modder, then no one can cast the blame on Obsidian for it. If on the other hand its done by Obsidian I hope that MS will take note of it and seriously consider whether or not Obsidian is a suitable Xbox developer for the future.Which could have serious implications on their future as a developer. -

I wouldnt do one unless it could be done across both platforms. The potential gain is minimal(mostly a goodwill excercise) and the potential of seriously annoying the Xbox fanbase is huge. -
What I Liked About TSL!

That would make sense in view of things not being broken because your not really bothered about damaging the door you just want to get in. -

This is just guess but because you cant blow open a container without the demolitions skill I think its much more deliberate than simply bashing something till it breaks. Although mines are used It may just be a specific part of the mine which is focused on the lock. Still as you say it's a very nice touch and in some cases the only way to open a container (two I can think of post peragus). Destroy droid is a lot more useful this time around for that very reason. Had me wondering about that charging the mine field scene though. Guess it's a new power that the general didnt have during the war. -
BUG - % damage blockers don't work
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Camp Freddie's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
No reason to doubt you. Plus its more of an interest thing at this point having played the game 4 times I've moved on to something else. Given the rather hectic glut of games coming soon not likely I will be playing KOTORII again this side of next year. -
My thanks to Obsidian for KOTOR2
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Matt7895's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Unfortunately there wasnt really anywhere you could take the game in that respect. With BG it finished at level 7 or 8 which gave you a lot of room for new things in the sequel. KOTOR finished at 20, and aside from the new force powers, there isnt much that you could do differently. Given the tight schedule messing around with a new engine or rules set was never going to be an option. Although having said that I hope KOTOR III is "more of the same" just to tie up the series. Then a complete rewrite for a new trilogy. -

What's Next??????
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to AromisTallion's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I still have those lego sets somewhere. I bought them purely as a collectable, boxes are still sealed and everything. The games are all tied to the new series, so I'm not really expecting to see an old trilogy SW lego game (would be nice though). A star wars lego RPG would be hillarious too:D Obi Wan in EP I of lego , is priceless, he keeps falling over and fumbling his lightsaber. -

I always wanted to see SW done in Lego :D -
Prequels are always an odd choice.. I'm not familiar enough with the Suikoden universe to spot all but the most obvious references (like a certain NPC). And it's been so long since I played part I that I dont know who crossed over from IV to I (except in one instance). The motion capture gives a very styilsed feel , which I personally like. Although I'm enjoying the game immensely there are one or two elements which would probably annoy people to the extreme. I dare say I could track one down if I really felt compelled. But since Squenix did the whole anthology thing perhaps Konami will as well at some point.

Obsidian Encouragement
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to MacGamer's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I believe the term you're looking for is "bio-weenie". But yes, Mr. Urquhart, I wholeheartedly agree - such monstours behavior is criminally unjust. Both you, Chris A., and all the other guys fully deserve our profuse respect and congratulations for releasing the wonderful masterpiece that is K2. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> With all due respect to Feargus (which is much) it's very easy to see why this impression has arrisen. What I said was that the closure of these boards would further people seeing Obsidian as BioJr. and I stick by that. If a sense of self identity is important to Obsidian , which it seems to be. Then having your only official board on another companies webspace for whatever reason dosnt seem at all conducive to that. The List of Continuity Mistakes
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to Darth Nuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On the subject of continuity. It's nice if the series maintains continuity in it's own backyard. IE all the movies link together to make some sort of complete series. KOTOR links together to make a complete series, the comics etc. But as for everything being the same across the board, dont really give a monkeys. -

Nice try but your wrong about that one. Especially when it hurtles through space, looks like its about to crash and pulls up at the very last second. Lesson of the day, speak for yourself dont presume to speak for othes unless you can back it up with some evidence. -

I could never get overlays and underlays to stack. It just took the highest one. How did you accomplish 60% immunity ? Rather handy that :D -
I just started a new game+. Got all my money carried across and all the spare crap that people were not wearing. But most interesting is that it removes the fog from the chart map, now things make a little more sense in regards to restrictions of where you could sail. And for people who dont want to spend 4 or 5 hours uncovering the map it will show up anything you missed first time too. I never did get to play Suikoden II. Although I have a mint condition of number I which is apparently worth a lot of money these days. Opinion seems divided on III , I guess the multiple perspectives thing is an aquired taste. Actually didnt notice a lot of difference in the combat it's totally familiar. Combined attacks are still there, plus you can have two back up parties which makes for easier leveling and learning of combo attacks. With one or two exceptions the combat wasnt difficult. Seems that new game + has turned it up a notch though. A damp hairball put a serious dent in my party with spells that it never used in the previous game.

It's some sort of crap version of a hypogriff. Body of a lion tail of a lobster (does that sound as dumb when you read it as when you type it?) Why call it a basilisk ? A basilisk is a snake/lizzard or at least reptilian in nature. -

Suikoden 1-3 managed 108 pretty well...Suikoden 4 on the other hand... I liked the holograms too. More interactive then a datapad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah good someone else who has played IV. 58 was a sort of guess because not all of the 108 are joinable. I had pretty much the same problem with way too many NPC's to choose from in all the games. What was so different about IV? -
Level 15 plus a strong leaning to one side of the force. You can get a prestige class after level 15 ( I was level 18 in my first game before I went far enough along the alignment scale).
