  1. Freedom from slavery and equality for all.
  2. Thats the problem , because you dont become aware of it till late on it turns into a huge plothole.
  3. I'd say Dxun/Onderon too.
  4. The monsters regenerate not much relaxing going on. They really need to fix that energy shield thing too, makes a mockary of stringing hits together. I'd rent Fable , but since my purchased copy went black screen twice I returned it. Did finish one ending first though :">
  5. I imagine a lot of people are very Revan/Bastila. Although I dont think the idea of moving on is particulalry far fetched or anything. As a writer I would not like to take into account 8 different what ifs but at the same time I do want absolute closure on the trilogy.
  6. No. They gave Revan a new background, that's all. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You cant give someone a background without giving them a personality. A person is the sum of their experiences. Your not playing an amnesiac in KOTOR your playing a lie created by the council. Which is why it makes no sense to play DS in KOTOR in the story context until you get to the leviathon.
  7. Common misconception but not true. They gave Revan a new persona. This is confirmed when you talk to Bastila and she asks you questions and you get those er wth is going on here answers... In which case why would the Jedi give you an evil persona? Of course they wouldnt. And the only rationale is that Revans evil persona was surfacing dosnt work because your still totally ignorant of it until you get to the Leviathon even after you piece together those obvious clues on the planet.
  8. If you buy the whole Anakin as child of the force thing. His destiny was to bring balance to the force. Something that would only be accomplised by either recruiting more Sith , or killing off all but two of the Jedi (which in the movie is what happens). Either way it went it was still going to lead to a massive conflict in which billions of non force users were going to die.
  9. I prefer the Exile there was much more openess about the character. The problem I had with Revan was that I could never justify playing DS till after that Leviathon because in the story context why would the jedi replace one DS personality with another false one ? Makes zero sense at all. The only reason it might happen is because the player dosnt realise it until late in the game, but then that makes a nonsense of the story of you being given a false personality dosnt it? Because the exile had been away for 10 years, they could have either come to terms with what happened, or that resentment could be have been building looking for an outlet. In either case, the type of Exile you become was a much more natural progression.
  10. Movies are bound to be simpler, you only have 3 hours or less to tell the story in a fashion that will make sense. You also dont have the option to replay a movie for many months (unless your a naughty person). Thats why Squenix spirits within went totally over most peoples heads. Too much for them to take in over that ammount of time and too much going on. The movies are also intended to a younger audience where as the games are more mid-late teen. One of the major failings of KOTOR 1 is that playing DS makes little sense in the context of the story. It's not like the Jedi council would give you such a personality is it? While you could say that it was because they didnt erase you old one, you still then play the entire game in ignorance until the Leviathon.
  11. Just a quick update on ShadowHearts II. The combat system is changed. Now rather than just one ring you have a choice between 3 or 4 of them. You can even use auto ring which removes the reflex element completely. You can also adjust the number of attacks which take place along the ring. My first boss combat in the game was hillarious(teach me to start a new game this late at night). It went something like this. Party executes a few combos and it's all looking rosey. Gargoyle is down to weak status. Then oops forgot to pay attention to the sanity meter. Party member 1 takes large cunks out of party member 2 and party member 2 thinks it would be a good idea to heal the gargolye.. Once you lose control of all of them , not much you can do , so they proceeded to beat each other silly , while the Gargoyle presumably soiled itself laughing.... Graphics are much improved anyway. And the whole thing is voiced (so no renaming of characters like in the first one). And WOW what a FANTASTIC intro
  12. That does put a different spin on those cutscenes now you mention it. Perhaps that was going to be the way of revealing who she was without the handmaiden. Although it could just be that Kreia recognised what a smart chap he was and was keeping an eye on him.
  13. Is that why Qui Gon never did a vanishing act when he died?
  14. Aside from the Jedi who have come back as force ghosts no one knows what happens to the dead. Even if they become one with the "force" they dont in a manner which retains a concious. Or SW would be overun with force ghosts. They are goals she wanted revenge on all things and ultimately the force and she wanted to spread her teachings, which she tells you about on the ship. The only goal she didnt accomplish was the death of the force she did everything else. As game villians go , shes one of the more successful.
  15. In theory you train the next generation as part of the game. As for how they reform for EPI , well there is still 4000 ish years to go before then so thats anyones guess.
  16. I'm not so sure that it dosnt have something to do with the character you play...
  17. That was just one of her goals.Revenge on Jedi (done) Revenge on the Sith(done) spreading her teachings to a new student(done). Her true goal was to no longer be a slave to the force and being dead she isnt a slave. How did you come to that conclusion anyway?
  18. Only real difference is that you are collecting four things (really collecting as they go in your inventory) multiple times. Now at least the criteria for your collect things is put into context.
  19. It still had significant implications on the story though regardless of how they end up. It would have been a very different story if all you did was click four dead jedi (like you clicked 4 starmaps). Your "point" is on such an abstract level that it is essentially pointless. Are NwN and KOTOR the same because both revolve around collecting four things?
  20. Just refer back to the original post. (Aside from the last sentence which I happen to agree with). Go collect four items is no way representative of the main plot of KOTOR II is it?
  21. Which means she is no longer a slave and therefore wins. She already spread her teachings to the Exile whether or not they agreed them. Kreia wins whatever happens. She has either trained a student strong enough to kill her, the goal of every Sith. Or she beats the student having found out what she needed to complete her plan. Of course the reload button means you will only ever get the first outcome.
  22. Yes, thats why the how it is done becomes important.
  23. Actually I'm pointing out the inacuracy of your "collect four things" simplification. Now thats done. How can things that add depth to the story be irrelevent in an RPG? If they had all been dead like Vash, then I would have agreed , but they are not and your interaction with them alters has significant implications on the story. So if you still think there is no difference between that and clicking on 4 static maps thats entirely upto you.
  24. Except that the Jedi are a whole lot deeper than clicking on map yes? Their reaction will depend on your character ? A map on the other will be a static object regardless. Those "protectors" don't have differing views of youpending on which side you are on.So it's not the same as the jedi. How you go about locating and interacting with the Jedi also has story implications, where as the maps are just maps. The only point of the maps is to get to them.
  25. You dont collect Jedi in the same way that you collect StarMaps. And no it dosnt work exactly the same because a Star Map wont try to kill you if your on the wrong side.
