  1. Level 46 dock rats in EQ. There is just something fundametally wrong about a level 46 rat.
  2. Actually my biggest memory of KOTOR is what a cheating SOB Malak was.
  3. You cant kill characters off when they drive the story. The only time that KOTOR lets you do it is when the characters are no longer needed as story vehicles, then it just becomes a problem with sequels. Take BG/BGII you would come across NPCs who died in the first game, but since D&D is a magical world its much easier to rationalise. Whether or not you can kill off your party depends entirely if you party is driving the game, or if they are just there with no real purpose. As long as the game dosnt let you do cheap things like strip off their equipment It's not a big deal if they are no longer needed.
  4. It's been more than 10 hours come on already
  5. I like to try them all out. I'm not sure if I prefer the everyone sits around in the pool waiting to be chosen, or that over the course of the story different characters go with you at different times. Until towards the end then you get to choose them. The latter gives better story intergration at the price of freedom of choice. But depending on which order you do the planets in , some characters are either obsolete, or you are so comfortable with your team there is little reason to change it.
  6. Nice article. I found it interesting that CA was considering the JRPG design approach, as in write your story, then write your game (and system) around the story. MGS rocks, especially considering that it's writer considers it an action game. TLJ another personal favourite of mine. The cat thing is easy. You just have to know that they know that you know but pretend you dont :D
  7. It probably had something to do with spending the first hour or so of the game in your underwear.
  8. Yes, but I didnt when I watched EP V.
  9. The Brianna bit. No objection to the game being set 50 years in the future.
  10. All that would do is remove the Q&A session. You would still have to deal with all the variables introduced by the previous games and program accordingly.
  11. It's ok it's only virtual lego. No need to relive childhood trauma. Console yourself with the fact that after finishing the level you can abuse Jar Jar Binks
  12. Pretty good chance they do if it's in pre production.
  13. I'd say dont buy any game till you find out a bit about it (unless you have the luxury of a no questions asked return) but that's really only common sense. And whatever Hades says I'm still buying Lego:SW (w00t)
  14. I'm not refering to the outcomes of the new PC but rather how you need to set up Revan/Exile/Whoever else. In KOTOR II lots of scenes chanced depending on how you answered Attons questions. A holocron on Korriban, What version of holo T-3 played etc etc. Now multiply those by the number of possibilities you need to cover and you start to realise the absolute magnitude of the task. I think it's 16 different outcomes, just for Revan/Exile LS/DS without adding in the fates of the NPC's. Scenes are probably the most difficult thing of all, most costly too, so I think it's probably less than simple.
  15. If it dosnt, then it dosnt. No big deal. I heard something about that but I dont think LA could have realistically made the game. They dont have the experience. Only Bioware, Obsidian or possibly Midway (not sure what role they played in SH but it's a great game). Bioware might do it if JE goes south.
  16. Caveat Emptor... LA didnt con anyone they put the game on the market. If you MUST really whinge at someone then whinge at the reviwers because if you bought the game on their say so , then they are the ones who "conned" you.
  17. Yes. Because although KOTOR II is a different story many elements change depending on how you answer the setup questions. This is to keep the continuity between the different outcomes. Even to the point of having a totally different admiral if it's a continuity where Carth died. Those scenes only had to deal with four outcomes. Multiply that many more times if you had variable destinies for each character, plus the Exile. While the story may not be complete, it may be "written" in the sense that EP I-III was always intended (if you believe George).
  18. Got some figures to back that up? More users on the boards dosnt mean anything.
  19. I wonder what platform they are making it for.
  20. Oh yes riling the big M is so much more sensible than a handful of PC fans..
  21. He's funny because 90% of the people I've talked to dont realise he's a droid.
  22. In the WEG SW rules it used to say something like. When making a planet for SW take one feature of the real world and exagerate it to a planetery scale. Tatooine - lots of sand Yavin - lots of jungle Endor - lots of forest Hoth - lots of snow SW planets are pretty small I guess.
