Something like that. But then there isnt much point in upgrading is there. The PS3 will play CDs (PS) DVDs (PS2) and ultimatley one would hope cap out with blu ray as the standard PS3 format.

Well thats nice and all but unless your psychic your not really qualified to make such absolute statements. :D The sooner I can watch SW back to back without having to switch disks (and watch the extras on the same disk) the happier I will be. Not only because it kind of defeats the point of a remote if you have to swap disks, but also because it's going to save me a shedload of space and short of moving to a bloody mansion there isnt going to be a great deal of that around here as the kids grow up.

I think your taking a too short term view. When I first got my PS2 there were hardly any DVD's you could buy in this country. Now they outnumber video cassetes in a big way. The PS3 supports both. So it's not like you wont be able to play your old DVD's while waiting for the new media to catch on. On the other hand the Xbox360 will never support the new media which means if you want to take advantage in the future its either a P3 or a similiarly priced dedicated player. Would you support a format that future proofs you ? Or one that has a very good chance of being obsolete in 2 or 3 years. With graphics now at this high level we could be looking at a much longer console life span (until the ON helmet becomes a reality ).

Probably going to be a similiar story this time around.

They said the same thing about the previous Elder Scrolls so you will forgive me if I take a skeptical stance here. Thing is it will be the same as it was this gen. Everone will go WOW then they will get used to it and then graphics will need to be even more impressive to make people go wow again. What struck me in playing one of the older PS2 games is how much the graphics have jumped in quality between the flag releases and the new releases. On the Xbox they have stayed fairly static from begining to end although at a high comparitve quality.

I agree with both of those. It's a great movie on its own merits and unlike the other batman movies dosnt try to be a live action cartoon.

Heres a sort of unrelated question. Since the PS2 somewhat kickstarted the DvD explosion do you think the Blu Ray will do the same thing ?

Oblivion is one of those big and empty games. While you may have 2000 voice acted NPCs chances are most wont say a great deal and many will be the same VO's saying the same thing over and over (although one hopes they spread them out enough). Pre rendered CGI is what drives RPGs especially those from the Japanese market which MS is so desperate to make in roads into. Some PS2 RPGs already come over two disks and the Xbox RPGs like Jade and KOTOR, well lets just say I'm not hugely impressed by a 40 hour game and I'm downright annoyed at a 20 hour game.

With some games they write data independent of your game. It's usually related to unlockables on finishing certain modes. Even if you delete your previous games the unlockables will stay.

I really dont think its that bad a topic. Not compared to some of them. One of the things that always strikes me about romances is you only get those which the designers allow you to have. Usually your not even allowed to pursue anything with non romance characters. Mira at least brushed you off because of your age. It's not that every character should be open to your advances, but you should at least be able to try. The jealousy aspect was introduced in KOTORII (several cutscenes triggered depending on your relative influence with certain characters). So it's not like he's just pulling this out of thin air.

Ah , the joy of kinder eggs. Horrble sickly chocolate but worth it for what was wrapped up inside (well a lot of the time). Used to get some high quality stuff in those things. Those little inner "eggs" used to make great popper projectiles too. Broke a window with one once <oops>

Your missing one thing though. The characters are Obsidians this time around and they havnt yet completed their journeys. Only taken their first steps as Jedi. Plenty there to work most of them into a new game if you wanted to.

Definition of "angry young man" that one. Don't really see how you could capture those character qualities and still give the illusion that you have some choice on what is going on.

They have been showing some of the unsanitised by America GBZ's on Toonami. Gohan taking a whizz on Kirlins head was priceless. Not bad, but is dosnt beat the Nurse Joy Officer Jenny (all of them) picture that my wifes sister drew.

One is Goku, I think the other is Frieza but I'm not that familiar with GBZ and its spin offs so it could be someone else.

Kreia gives bonus XP which goes up as she levels. Think its something like 3% 5% 7% Another good thing for Kreia is to be really careful with the powers you give her and she will autobuff both of you. Unofrtunately because of the way the powers work and because you cant switch them on and off (should learn from Tales of Symphonia) you will have to give her some useless powers.

After a while you have so many stat boosters it really wont matter. The only stats that you cant really modify are con and int.

Bet it was fun watching everyone run around like headless chickens for a while. Odd expression that since a headless chicken running around is frankly rather disturbing.

I've still got the grenadier minatures of the fellowship and badguys which were based on the animated LOTR I've never watched a Uwe Boll film (or even seen one available) but I feel I should just so I can experience the true horror.
