Is Star Wars Battlefront II any good ?
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to ShadowPaladin V1.0's topic in Computer and Console
Actually it's more the exception that he rule. Thats one reason I asked, I thought the game would have been released over there sometime last week. Oh well guess I'll rent it -
SMAC was fun although it dosnt have the familiarity of history that Civ does it does have elements of gameplay that Civ lacks. I would have bought Civ IV if it had been out on the 28th like it was supposed to be (it's in the warehouses, its just not in the shops). But since I've got Xenosaga II and two versions of FireEmblem arriving on thursday Civ missed the boat as it were.

How about potentially dull trips that have been brightened up by finding a game

Just wondering if it's worth getting, or is it only a weekend distraction (albeit a good one) like the first one ?

Recycling Jefferson as a NWN2 expansion
ShadowPaladin V1.0 replied to ramza's topic in Computer and Console
You never know. I'm sure some elements of it will make it into NwNII whether or not people realise they are elements of Jefferson , well thats another matter. -
Had to do "stuff" over the weekend , which I generally hate. But I came across Vandal Hearts II and Suikoden II while I was away , which somehow made it all worthwhile

Dawn of War I played Alpha Centauri earlier and thats aged pretty well.

Don't get this at all do you It's impossible to preview a game that has alrady been released so again no need use anything beyond the name.
-
NwN preview over at Eurogamer. Just follow the link and then go to the main page. Can't miss it. Havnt read it, but its there if you want to
-
Played it on the GC. Wouldnt happen to know of any significant differences would you ? Definately qualifies as fantastic anyway.
-
Depends what you want to play. The Xbox has very few games that interest me which you cant find elsewhere. Thats not true of either the GC or the PS2. My favourite Xbox game would have to be Crusader. The mix of RTS and close up action, along with the RPG elements make it pretty much unique. KOTOR etc. Overated simply because they are the only RPGs on the Xbox. If you doubt the PS2's abilities then take a look at this. Not personaly my cup of tea but you would be hard pressed to find a better looking game http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=61436 PS there is an NwN preview too if you go to the main page. Nice little bonus.

Oh the many joys of jumping through hoops to get games to work. Working now anyway thanks for the pointer Reveilled

And buy Lost in Blue Don't throw your PSP away though. Either stick it in the cupboard till the middle of next year , or watch Anime movies on it like I do.

You could have said that before I did the attic quest Anyway the box fell open and I nearly broke my toe with the manual :D Havnt seen a 200 page manual for a game in quite some time.. Looks like Civ 4 got put back a week anyway..
-
I'm about to brave the attic to find SMAC. I figure it's similiar enough to see if I still like that sort of gameplay. But different enough not to lead to any preconceived notions about Civ 4. Hope it still works

Join theclub. Although by UK pricing the 360 "value pack" is very much a false econemy. One of the the things I thought the Xbox got right in the end was the HD. Ironic that it gets dropped for the 360. Well one thing about getting a PC upgrade was you could always go back and play the old stuff at much higher settings, so it was a bit like new stuff :D
-
360 only has BC (of sorts) if you buy the "deluxe" model otherwise your out of luck.

Fingers crossed. I hope the extra time will lead to a more impressive lineup but this about as exiting as damp squib. There are 171 PS3 titles in the works although how many of those will be ready is anyones guess. I know Nintendo plan to have a Mario game to launch the Rev. Although what type , well having seen the controller , thats anyones guess. I'd probably be inclined to redo Twilight Princess as a Rev. title , probably piss a lot of people off but it can stand against a next gen title even in it's current form and if they are looking for maximum wow factor, its one way to go.

The first us vs them battle with the Amiga and ST owners.. I remember begging my parents to buy me an expansion so I could play Dungeon Master in all it's glory. I don't think I saw sunlight for a week I faked being sick and since they both worked I got to play the whole time during the day. Swords of Aragon is another one I remember fondly. It's also where I got my first taste of the gold box games. I played CoK for weeks too but after Champion level on that nothing much came close in difficulty.
-
Liberty City Stories , should be out next week (in the UK of course).

Apparently he's a big fan of Beyond Good and Evil , maybe he will make that next. I think the exec thing is just to bring a big name into the picture I dont think Halo will be a particularly good movie unless they make up a lot of stuff and then it wont really be the movie of the game anyway.

Obviously the PC wins if you take into account two factors. Cost , if you want one that will run games for the same cost as a console it's not going to happen. The other one is the fact that so few games work out of the box anymore without patching. I've actually got everything on the list :D but only really been a serious console player since playing FFX. So I'll list what I like about each. PS2-RPGs and Strategy games which are too numerous to count. It's also the one which has the pad I find most comfortable and functional. GC-The ability to stick on a GBA player and play GBA games as well as some really fun titles which dont take themselves too seriously. And of course Requiem. Twilight Princess should be on the list.. But it's not When it does get released I expect it will sell a few cubes. GC also has a lot of good titles yet to be released where as the other two are gearing up for the next gen stuff. X box-The HD means never having to buy another memory cart. Load times are generally faster because of the HD. As for titles, really not impressed. Compared to the JRPG equivelent and the former PC equivelent they have been universally meh.. Technologically superior, although not by a lot in practice.
