  1. I voted yes, would be nice if one companion does betray you, for whatever reason, maybe later the same companion gets his or her just reward by a execution squad, but for some reason, you are there at the same time, and decide to rescure this person or stay hidden and let the execution commence so nice choices in this wouldn't go amiss
  2. 2014 is only 2 years, in the UK, super fast broadband is still not fully reached everyone, BT have been dragging their heals upgrading places from the old copper wire to super fast optic, even then getting on a ISP that allows anything above 50gig is still not that common, and tis is still the key issue, is bandwidth, even in 2 years this miight not really change much, and Im sure a lot of countries are in a similar situation as it just costs too much to dig up large chunks to upgrade to fibre optic, even the town Im in (UK) probably wont get fibre optic for a long time, we aren't close to a major city, (well we sort of are, but there is a pretty big distance from it) I am fine able to download up to 50gig but even then not everyone will have that much, I know its a mess, but its the truth, while Jay Wilson in his recent interview concerning D3 and the reasons to making that online only, but he is deluded, as he mentions everyone should have fast broadband by now, as he can walk into a hotel and have access to Wifi, sure if that Hotel is in a major city in the states, it will, but not everyone has that Luxury I agree that we want a PC only game, Im still a bit concerned on how large the download will be, that is all
  3. now I'm a bit concerned on how big this game on disk will be? and how big a download it will be, I don't have unlimited bandwidth, but it has grown a bit, still, if the game is a big size, I probably might be kicking myself by not getting a physical reward instead, still, I hope the download size won't be too big, I can download up to 50gig a month, I really hope it doesn't take all that bandwidth to download this game once its out
  4. well not only the update we are waiting for but the first episode of the documentary is that ready yet? I'll get my coat
  5. well, either the equipment could be given to you depending on class, or maybe depending on skills / stats, so maybe you want to use two handed weapons, and chosen a skill to enhance that, then you probably have a high chance of getting a two handed sword instead of a one handed one, or if there are shield skills, you get a shield and a one handed sword, or maybe a dagger, I think if the character generation was interesting, it should choose your equipment for you depending on the choices you made
  6. I think both races have been over used, can't say I was impressed with them in Morrowind, and a few other games, I prefer PE to have new monsters and races, rather then reusing races like vampires, we see them everywhere, isn't it about time to change this? so I say now to vamps werewolves, not my cup of tea, also if you do become a vampire, and the game has a day and night cycle (I hope) then been a vampire will be a pain, it was in morrowind, as soon as I became one, I did what I had to do to remove it, sure the bonuses were nice, but not been able to travel around in the sun was a real annoyance, so depending on that kind of maps PE will use, travelling around when a vampire will not be fun as for werewolves I just think they should be in either, so again, I just don't want them in
  7. You do make a lot of good points there Luridis, and a good reason why games in general aren't that good anymore, there are plenty of classic games that I loved to play, but now, many games are just FPS / TPS, and a lot of endless sports games that hardly ever change anyway, (unless its EA they they release one sports game on the Wii as a new game, but turned out to be last years PS3 / xbox360 version, http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2012/10/fifa-13-wii/ even if the wii isn't selling as much as it once did, that is still no excuse to do something like that. but that is EA for you, I wonder what DA3 will really be like? EA have clearly shown that they aren't interested in doing anything like DA:O, considering how bad DA2 became, but that too was rushed, and had a very short development cycle, as EA wanted the game out there as quickly as possible. so will they A go back to a DA:O look or B (more likely) more like DA2? I say the latter, and because of this reason if PE ever came to consoles, it will be a turkey, nowhere near as good the PC version, OK the new consoles will be out, but even so, even if they do have better graphics chips, more ram, there is another issue, the differences between the two consoles, this can be seen very nicely with the PS3 and Xbox360 versions of skyrim, the main game was done for and optimised for the Xbox360, before it got ported to PC and PS3, but here is the problem, due to the way that the consoles work, the devs basically took short cuts, and they simply ported the code from one console to the other, and one initial release and many patched later, the game still was a unplayable mess, yet the devs know about the problems even before the game was released, they could have delayed or canned the PS3 release, but they didn't, I don't know if the PS3 version is still bad or not? but anyway, my point is, its highly likely that the PS4 and Xbox720 (or whatever they going to call it) will probably have very different setups too,and it seems from what I have gathered, making games for the PS3 is pretty difficult unless you have support from sony, (and I think that costs a lot) unlike the Xbox support which I think is free or low cost? another thing to consider is patches, to get a patch on PSN or XBL costs a lot, Tim Schafer also revealed that it can cost up to 40k to get a patch in the QA process for a game, plus patches for consoles do take time as well http://www.develop-online.net/news/39783/Tim-Schafer-Console-patches-cost-40k and probably why more indie devs are making a comeback to PC due to high costs, only those with a big publisher can put patches on the two networks, OE will not be able to do that for themselves, it would bankrupt them, if the game required a lot of patches, but I do think you need to be tied to a publisher to get a game on console anyway, but anyway, if there are massive differences between the new consoles, like there are between the PS3 and xbox360, then porting back a PC optimised game, to those consoles will take a lot of work, another good example is Torchlight, the original is now on XBL. but due to the big differences between TL1 and 2, two will never come to Xbox360, it just won't be able to handle it, and besides a ARPG is always better with a mouse IMO, and that goes for cRPGs as well, controllers aren't responsive enough, I think if this game does come to consoles, it will take a hell of a lot of work, and costs, and they might to save costs, port it to the Xbox (new one) then PS4, but like I said above, if there are still massive changes between the consoles, what might work for one, probably won't work for the other (again skyrim is a very good example of this) this is why I dont think a PC only title will or should come to consoles
  8. my version of the game will be steam, so that I can be sure its always up to date, Im not a steam hater, I like the service and got a lot of games on it, so that is where I will be playing the game from,
  9. I want to see giant spiders in PE!!! large the better, and venomous and maybe around a large man catching web of sorts nuff said
  10. at least the KS for Battle Chess was a flop and yes, why do a KS when interplay was still going to publish it? unless they just wanted to use KS as a means of getting the game funded without spending a penny, but even if the game does make the light of day, I still wouldn't touch it with a ten foot bargepole,
  11. but console players have DA3 coming along, why should consoles ruin a PC only title when there is DA3, and probably more of the same of DA2, ithis is the direction that console RPG's are going in, and I wouldn't even class either DA:O and especailly DA2, real cRPG's not by a long shot, sure consoles have a bigger audience, but they do have limits to what they can do, like most not having a K&M, smaller maps, completely different UI. I say, let consoles have DA3, or what other junk EA can come up with and thier vision of what an RPG is, because sure as hell, its not the PC users vision of what a cRPG is, but publishers won't release PE on console unless massive changes have been made, so all in all, what PE will be like on console, sure won't be the same on PC, and its highly likely OE will lose the licence to their own dream, and work, something I dont think they want to risk, seen too many good games by big publishers over the years, C&C, RA, syndicate Sim City, and plenty of others, going down the tub, getting dumbed down, getting crappier and crappier with each sequel that publishers spew out don't care if the consoles users want PE or not, as its not going to happen, and they are plenty of dumbed down RPGs for them to play, thanks to publishers, if PE goes to a console, and a publisher turns around and screws OE because the publisher takes the lience and ideas away from OE, (very likely) OE will not be able to do anymore games, on their own, as no one will touch them with a bargepole, they will be dependent on publishers to give them work, and their work hasn't really been the finest, because of publishers screwing them over, is this what people really want? OE going under? and we lose one of the last independent houses that cares about making RPGs, as bioware are dead in my eyes, while they made good RPG's in the past, not anymore, not since sodding EA took them over I don't want to see OE taken over by a publisher or going under, OE I think is their best shot to make a name for themselves again, proving to everyone, including publishers, we can make good games if we tried, as long as we can do the game on our terms, not the publishers but publishers are too powerful in this day and age, they destroy everything they touch, namely EA and Activision, I don't want OE to go the same way, and if anything, we have seen far too many good studios getting dissolved and destroyed by big publishers, as they don't care about the games now, they only care about making sure the biggest selling title gets sequels and sequels and even more sequels and like I said, we know the vision of EA when it comes to RPGs, DA:O and DA2, is that the types of games we all want to play from no one? not me, not in the slightest
  12. I did mention locations in my post, including a large landmass for a large stronghold, or along a river for trade, but been on an island, (or a moat) sounds also cool, so I do hope we have a lot of chances concerning strongholds
  13. But PE makes me think of Physical Education and then me being bad at sports then me being kicking in the face by accident during rugby at school and breaking my nose which hurt... yeah true, I wasn't keen on sports either,
  14. if possible, (have to remember the stronghold is only a small part of the game, and might end up having a limited budget) but I would like a choice of location, maybe depending on the location, determines several factors, how large the stronghold is, its overall function, is it there for trade? or is it there to protect something ( village or prosperous land) also it would be nice if say you could have the option of building it along a river (trade) or maybe you just want the biggest badass looking stronghold there is (with a increased chance of getting attacked, and takes a small fortune to keep it running (at least that will party deal with the money issues, having too much and what to with it all) I would also like too see the prospect of losing it, and maybe a chance of getting it back (long forgotten tomb or secret passages, and someone (maybe as a quest) might give the location of the enterence for doing them a favour but yeah, if you are a wizard, then you want your stronghold in a certain way, if you are a warrior in another, would like to see choices and consequences for what you decide, and how well you ran the stronghold, if its for trade, and you impose a very high tax to raise funds, but your high tax is just going to hurt you in the long run, as it drives people / trade away, or maybe you have some farmland, do you develop it to make it prosperous? or do you let it go to waste and order another village to be built, but as there is no longer any farmland to grow crops, the second village (probably you might already control one already) but without farmland your peasants and stronghold itself starts to stave, so you might be forced to bring in food from another farther away village, but then the trade route could be open to bandits, so money needs to be spent to keep the road safe I would love if some of the above was possible, as for building it / enhancing it, maybe can be built or upgraded through dialogue choices, as GhoulishVisage mentioned, this isn't the Sims, so you shouldn't have to build the stronghold that way, but yeah I would like to see a lot of choices over the stronghold and its development and upkeep
  15. I like the name, plus its easy to call it PE for short, so I wouldn't mind the game called Project Eternity, but yeah if the story could make the name, maybe some kind of project to try and keep a soul / person from dying (also breaking the circle of souls), maybe to make someone immortal or godlike? so it could be a code name for a project in the game itself, but yeah, PE has created quite a buzz on the internet, so would be interesting if the name is kept not sure, really, just some ideas
  16. I don't want this game to end up on consoles, also I'm pretty sure a publisher would have to be involved if that is the case, and that means they could potentially own the IP, plus whatever profit is made from the console sales will no doubt end up in publishers pockets, not sure but I dont think OE will get any funds from the consoles version until iit hits X amount of sales, but I might be wrong plus the interface will have to change, while DA:O might have sold more on consoles, the PC version was still a better version, plus had a better overheard camera which the consoles versions couldn't handle, plus the maps were were smaller, in BG and other PC games, the maps were large, so if PE also has large maps a nice overhead camera, (not too close or far away) something like this wont be possible on a console, (unless the 8 gen systems can do better?) but even then a keyboard and mous is way better more responsive then a controller, in the end, I just dont want to see the game end up in the hands of publishers, and considering PC gamers ARE having to put up with crappy console ports, Darksiders 2, not a bad game, but the PC version did have a lot of issues, and there is BL2, great options menu, but the in game options menu is basically a kick up the backside and a scew you towards PC gamers, its still a good game, but the PC version is riddled with bugs, they just released 1 of 4 story DLC, and there is lag in combat, (confirmed and a fix in the works) but still, the in game interface is terrible, so is the in game interface for DS2, plus skyrim, I really hate this game, but because of consoles, and the game getting dumbed down, skyrim is a very bad game IMO, and the interface is made for a consoller, not K&M, not like the morrowind interface, ok that game has its flaws too, but is still a very good game but PC gamers have been getting the short end of the stick in recent years, publishers are turning their back on PC games, and only giving us half backed console ports, EA is a good example, even though DA:O is a decent game, its still not a stratch on Bioware's older titles, BG 1 and 2, but EA are just really about giving people FPS after FPS after FPS, oh sure there is / was C&C generals 2, but now canned, its turned into a F2P game, and they have butchered the C&C name since they took over Westwood, and even Bioware is internally dissolving, with at least 3 people leaving, the two founders, and a lead designer or something, on top of whoever else has left now take a look at Activsion, since taking over Blizzard, blizzard have fallen from grace, D3 is a mess, and is broken at the core, no amount of patches will ever fix it, as long as there is a RMAH attached to it, decent droprates will never happen, and because someone is always dependent on the primary stat on a class on a weapon then DPS, there was a graphic showing the difference between 2 and 3, and how messed up the loot system in 3 is, OK D3 isn't on consoles, but I feel that activsion had a huge hand shaping the game, and there is the new WOW expansion, and how lame that has become (plus in endgame, players are too depended on having to spend huge amounts of gold or real money to get decent gear) publishers aren't very good now, they don't support the PC gamer anymore, since KS, many old games have come back, stuff that publishers won't touch with a barge pole, but yeah, I really, really hope PE NEVER comes to consoles, as no PC gamer will ever back OE again, if this happens, as its PC gamers money that has gone to fund this game, so the game is first and foremost a PC game, to get it on consoles will require a lot of work a new interface and more, and ultimately OE may lose the license to the name / their ideas, as the publisher will take all the credit and funds from the console versions, so OE probably won't get hardly any profit from it, plus lets not forgot, at least one publisher (maybe more) DID contact OE to try and control the IP, by saying you OE makes the game, then the publisher will sell the game on OE behalf, but then OE will lose the IP, I don't want that to happen PC games are making a comeback, KS is successful as its mostly PC games (for games that is) that are made, if any KS project gets publisher involvement, this news will sweep across the internet and will destroy not only that developer studio but the KS and trust in making games, publisher are I think afraid of KS, maybe another reason why they wanted to control the game after release in the end, publishers won't change, they are like dinosaurs, and not admitting to the change, they have been telling PC and console players for too long, what kind of games they want to release, what kind of games people want to see, and other games are been left behind, like the classic RPGs, Space sims and the like and other old style games that we used to play in the 90's like the classic worms, C&C 1, Cannon fodder and many many other classics KS is a chance to bring some of those games back to life, or at the very least the style of games back to life, something that publishers have resisted for far too long its time for fight back, take game making away from publishers, tell publishers what kind of games WE want to see, and most of all, put PC gaming back on the map!!!
  17. I just have one simple tiny question to ask is the game out yet? I will get my coat and OE take your time, and make your fans proud!!!
  18. I really hope that stuff like the digital audio book and the Digital Campaign Almanac and digital strategy guide remains in the shop, I have PM'd OE about this, but I think it would be really nice if these are still accessible after the main tiers goes while the strat guide and the Almanac don't bother me, (as the $80 includes them already, I would be a bit peeved if I miss out on the digital audio book, but right now, I just can't pledge anymore, I have up my pledge to get two expansions, (thanks to the friend that I'm gifting the second copy too) but I am pretty much at my limits, and need to slow down a lot, as I have backed a lot of KS projects, maybe in a month or two I would have the funds, but I would be a bit peeved if I lose out on getting the audio book, so any chance that the above items could remain in the shop for a bit longer then the reward tiers please?
  19. I loved BG 1 and 2, but also PS:T, they are all good games, as for NWN, it wasn't a bad game, but I wouldn't class it a great game, or a classic. but I do think PS:T had a better story in some respects, more dialogue choices but the BG series are good, bioware were great, at least before EA bought them out
  20. I used to the name or PE for short, so maybe it could be kept or certainly part of the name kept
  21. A clutter or clowder of cats its an old English expression for a group of cats, I know lions are a pride, but couldn't find more recent term for cats about from chowder http://answersuniver...****-and-swine
  22. I just say this talk the time that you need to bring to the fans a very good and polished game, some bugs are to be expected, that will always be the case, but please dont rush this game, your fans would never forgive you if you need extra time to release the game do so, we will understand that is all
  23. mot a bad idea really, something like the story of EOB 1, where you had to investigate an evil coming from below the city, maybe some powerful enemy could be threatening to destroy city two, so you have to go down and deal with whatever lurks down there, could be a few interesting side quests there, like one of the companions imprisoned (probably a survivor from a previous adventurer team, and got locked up awaiting torture and death, I think this could be expansed in a few ways @Rocketbean I would like it that we don't have access to either city early on, and do think that city 2 should only be acessiable after a certain point in the game,, so players can't automatically try and get better equipment from city 2, then they could in city 1, so I would like that city 2 is a no go until you have advance the story in some way
