  1. The comment section on kickstarter had this tiny, little note "Be respectful and considerate"...
  2. Honestly, I would prefer the developers decide on where they want to put their effort. Can we agree that we will not agree on everything concerning romances? In my eyes there is no way to please everyone. In my eyes, a video game is a piece of art, just like a book, too. And we should respect the author's/artist's/developer's decision to create his/her piece of art s/he wants. I do not need certain romances to be included to meet quotas. I want romances to be included because the artist has decided that it fits in his book/video game. The point: "But romances are optional, you do not have to use them!" is met with the point "But if there were less or none romances at all the developers could spend time on other things" (And btw, will people agree on which these other things should be? Most likely not I fear) And if the developers do not wish to spend time on something else? What if they want to spend time on including romances, because they believe it enriches their piece of art?
  3. Dear Obsidian Entertainment, Congratulation on your success at Kickstarters. Now that you are able to fund the game of my dreams, you will soon get a list from me of things you have to add to the game and things you must not add to it. I demand that you stay true to this list. Please do not add ANY options to the game, but specifically only make my wishes come true. This may sound selfish at first, but please hear me out: The deal is, I know best how to enjoy a game. The problem with options is the following: People will not be able to see the only way, my way, to enjoy this game. Options will make people confused. Options will make people go astray from the path of true enjoyment. Examples: 1) Should each level of the Mega-Dungeon have exits to the surface? No absolutely not. The only way, my way, to enjoy the adventures of a Mega-Dungeon, is the real competition of not having these exits. Now consider this: If you really added some exits in this dungeon on lower levels, people could become confuse and actually use them and thus turn away from the only true way, my way, to enjoy this game. Worse still, I could feel forced (!) to use these exits as well, and then I could not enjoy the game anylonger myself. This would be irresponsible. 2) The resting system. Let's have a look at Baldur's Gate for this. In Baldur's Gate it was possible to rest whenever you liked, refreshing, and thus setting back your spells. This however makes absolutely no sense, because people only sleep when they are tired! The problem once again is: When you do it like Baldur's Gate, people have choices. There are people who only rest when it makes sense from a roleplaying-view in the game. And there are people who abuse this system because they just want have an easy game, and get their spells back. Of course, the only way is to make sure that everyone enjoys the game the most, thus playing it the way I do (which is only being able to rest when my characters are actually tired). Worse, if there is the option of resting whenever you want it may force me to abuse the resting option as well! This would be irresponsible as well. The third example would be romances. But I respect that this topic is temporarily banned on this forum, and shall thus refrain from elaborating. Dear Obsidian Entertainment, I hope I made it clear to you, that you have no choice but to make the game the way I enjoy it most. Everything else would be irresponsible. Expect my list of do's and dont's to arrive soon. Yours sincerely, Fluffle
  4. So many different answers Looks like somebody should make a poll on this^^
  5. Just out of innocent curiosity: What would be some good Kryptonite for paladins?
  6. weremarshmallow antidote? why the hell would something like that exist?
  7. I don't think your fooling anyone He's not. Anything that fluffy and sugary is up to no good. ...says someone with "Rub my belly....you know you want to...give in to the temptation...and don't mind the resulting love scratches and bites." as signature scratches and bites!
  8. "Fluffy wamblers are small humanoids that can be found the world over in good regions. They are known and beloved for their warm hearts, gentle natures, and stumble bumblings." Checked out that link. Just too cute xD I will share my fluffly position with you, Virodhi.
  9. But what about my position as the only fluffy thing on the Obsidian Order? Pretty sure you're the only marshmallow, if that's any consolation... I don't think that's going to last... A soon as someone bites Fluffle you'll have another weremarshmallow around... Yeah if anybody ever wondered how weremarshmallows reproduce: This is it.
  10. But what about my position as the only fluffy thing on the Obsidian Order?
  11. Be warned, I am a weremarshmallow. Everyone who bites me will turn into a weremarshmallow him/herself too
  12. @Jasede Funny, after your comment I couldn't help but notice your avatar. Seems quite huggable to me On topic: Well what do the devs owes us? Actually only the things under the tiers for which we have pledged. If you have donated 8$ for a title, then that is what you get: a title. Pleding on KS or for the 8$ dollar title is actually out of having faith. You do not know how the game will turn out to be exactly. In the moment you pledge on it, you should be aware of that. I wonder: If you pledge on KS or for the title and then put up demands that the game should be designed to your own whishes - how sincere is your faith then? And seriously, KS does not work without faith. There is always the option of waiting for when the game comes out. Then check some reviews of the community (better avoid reviews in magazines but thats another story to tell), then decide if you want to buy it or not.
  13. @kenup I agree to a certain extend, which is limited at this point: To only bring in new features so you can say "We have something completely new", even if those new features would be significantly worse. At the same time, you cannot always stick to old features just for the sake of nostalgia. As always there needs to be some middle ground and evaluation. The point is: The process of evaluation is still going on. And I fear dlux has not realized this. It is not about to make the game just like dlux wants it. I rather would make it clear to him that this process of evaluation is going on and that he, like everybody else, should participate.
  14. The worst thing is, that the features that made dlux leave are still under discussion as Feargus Urquhart said himself:
  15. You can see right through my schemes. xD
  16. Dear Dlux, some of us are confused and sad that you have decided to pull off your pledge. I already stated my mind about this in our order thread (please check it out). When you come back here on the forum, I want to make sure you see how people miss you. This is what this thread is for. People will leave their personal message here for you. I repeat what I've posted on the other thread. Backing up KS is a question of faith. Juding a game based on updates and tidbits is not easy, because you do not see the whole picture until you have played the game. But more importantly, the features that seem to have appalled you are still under discussion. Feargus Urquhart himself asked about the matter with you on KS as you will see in my quotes below. No matter what dlux, thanks again for your effort you have put in the Obsidian Order. Some quotes from the kickstarter comment page: Now the quotes from Feargus Urquhart on KS comment page: Dlux, instead of leaving, consider staying here. Actually your concerns about the things you saw in the updates can help to improve Project Eternity.
  17. Oh and as an afterthought about dlux. We should not deprive him of his title, unless he really wishes that. I mean c'mon he has put quite some effort in the Order. That should earn him the title anyway. But still if he has to give up his title, shouldn't we take over the 8$ so he can keep it? Unless he really does not want it anymore, that is
  18. Btw, I noticed the same problem arises with the "special thanks in the credits". Putting real name there? Or forumname? Or a combination like "first name" "forumname" "last name" ? Of course I could put the name of my superior there as well, "His Most Fluffyness, Lord Kerfluffleupogus, Devourer of the Faithful" So unsure of what to do... xD
  19. Cant we open a "dlux we want you back thread" (or "The Obsidian Order wants YOU, dlux!") I mean, what I do not understand is that he removed all of his pledges? :/ (Did he?) He could have lowered it to 25$ + 8$ That's still 33$ for believing in OE. This is what KS is mainly about. Having faith. You can read things in the Updates you like or dislike, but in the end you do not see the whole picture until you have played the game. Which makes me conclude that the last update and the AMA must have been so horrific for dlux that he lost all faith alltogether in anything OE has ever done. (If he really withdrew his complete pledge, and not just lowered it). dlux, if u read this please reconsider at least 33$ But yeah in the end it is your decision. And man if you buy the game in 2014 and you like it, its fine too. Thank you for your efforts you have put in the Obsidian Order. We shan't forget you.
  20. And for all new members: Dont forget to pledge your loyalty to the marshmallow God, His Most Fluffyness, Lord Kerfluffleupogus, Devourer of the Faithful!
  21. " Steve: Can you talk a little about the reputation system which you are developing? How will you handle cause and effect in the wider world of Project Eternity? Feargus: Our reputation system will be similar to what players may have seen in Fallout: New Vegas. As you interact with people in the world, you start to generate a variety of reputations, positive and negative, with the world’s factions and communities. The system tracks both good and bad impressions, so if you save a basket of kittens from a burning house and later punch an old lady in the face, your reputation in that community is not “neutral”, it’s “mixed”. People from those communities will react to you based on your reputation, but it isn’t always a case of “positive rep” = “good times”. Sometimes being disliked by one group may actually cause another group to approach you favourably. And being liked by a group may result in their enemies coming after you — even if you’ve never done anything to harm them directly." 22. This screenshot is so reminiscent to the IE Games to me, which actually ties to another memory: Spending hours, days, weeks, months and more on the Baldur's Gate games and Icewind Dale ones in my youth. So it has the same effect on me as the announcment of Baldur's Gate Enhance Edition has: I feel like a piece of my childhood/youth is going to return to me. A piece which I have very much missed lately, and I'm so looking forward to seeing it again. Thank you Obsidian and all you backers. I know it's gonna be great.
