Komi Can't Communicate: s1 part 2 episode 13 Naijimi uses the Behelit to sacrifice their friends and......oh wait, wrong anime. Uh, there was a guy version of Komi and some videogames. I don't really remember much else because I was cleaning up the kitchen with Komi playing in the background. As the pattern seems to go for this show, I'm more bored than offended like @majestic seems to be. Netflix is also trying to get me to watch Bubble, which I may check out when I'm in the mood for a sledgehammer (of exposition) to the face. Well we can't have that. Sorry Shinji, you'll have to get in someone else's robot.

The TV and Streaming Thread: Pilot Week

From. It's dumb at times but it held my interest. I think they're doing another season so I guess I'll see how that goes. -
All things considered, the prequels look better with the hindsight of the sequels. I mean, they're not great by any means and Lucas' best is probably American Graffiti, but they did have a consistent idea behind them while the sequels were made with no overarching idea besides making Mickey money. And it shows, we can laugh at Darth Edgelord or podracing but all of that was better than the remake of IV. If there is a brightside to the sequels, it's that aspiring writers can take solace in that "somehow Palpatine has come back to life" was good enough for one of the biggest movie studios to go with a tentpole film.

But would you have command of the Starship Enterprise? Yeah, my job right now involves dealing with some of the dumbest mother****ers who can't even read a manual. I get to bill warranty claims everytime I step on a job site, but it's a bit frustrating to see someone wired something wrong despite a big warning sticker on how to do it or connecting a device meant for propane to natural gas. And operator error, I have to act like a general problem solver for my boomer parents everytime somethings internet related happens, I don't want to do that for someone who spent $100000 on a pool but can't read a manual that tells you to keep your iPhone updated to the latest iOS or the app won't work.

Damn Italians. I can't play most 3rd or 1st person games with inverted axis. Probably just got socialized playing games without it to the point it feels weird otherwise. For movies and series it's the opposite, where I usually find myself thinking like the camera. This can be distracting tbh, because if a scene isn't particularly engaging I find myself wondering how the shot(s) were done instead of engaging with the movie or show.

I just googled it and got the TV channel. Maybe it's the algorithms making.... assumptions based on your search history, or maybe it's Bill Gates trying to get you into sissy hypno. The average woman's hand is about 3 inches. We can use that to judge the relative size of other objects in relation to hands. In this essay I will... In the US case, ease of access is a big issue. If you live in Southern states, particularly in areas with larger Black or Latin populations, there are not very many voting places for all the people there so lines can be hours long. To boot, some places have passed laws making giving water or food to people in ridiculously long lines illegal, because why not make this harder. To drop the other boot, you probably don't get time off work to vote so good luck getting there on election if you've got a 9 to 5. And of course, because of "voter fraud", more convenient ways to vote aren't allowed for a lot of people. To tie all of this up, there seems to be a general dissatisfaction, with most of my circle vehemently hating the Rs while thinking the Ds are at best a disappointment. I don't think this is a USA specific thing, just looking at the French election Macron is hated and like 90% of votes for him were because he's not Le Pen. There's probably something here about just not being as odious as the reactionaries isn't a solid long term strategy, but that's something that most politicos will get because they are high on their own farts.

The Haunting of Hill House. Very much a Mike Flannigan show. In many ways it felt much less scary and more surreal, which is fine with me, but the extended monologs really felt like they got in the way of the actors' performances and the supernatural events than they supported it. Which is a shame, because I thought the actors all did a fine job and that there were very unsettling moments.
