  1. That was my point lmao. I'm very angry about this and trying not to post anything too bad. That they're also going to come out against marriage equality, contraception, and anti-sodomy laws is terrifying.
  2. Frankly I see it as a toss up. Sure there are(were?) a whole lot of folks who voted for Republicans in spite of a reactionary social agenda because of low taxes that this might offend, but if they've stuck it out over the last decade it seems like this is a strange straw to break the camel's back. I mean it's hard to believe that someone could be stupid enough to think that Republicans really didn't want to ban abortion.
  3. I will have to read Hellsing, but I like those types of scenes generally.
  4. I went into the anime completely blind. Was not disappointed at all.
  5. Both good and ill. I remembered Hellsing and want to rewatch the OVA now. 2nd best Nazi Cyborg in anime.
  6. Honestly, I think that Trump or an imitator is going to come into power over the next few years. Our Macron (eat the brie baby) has been a big disappointment to anyone who isn't a financially comfortable wonk while the cult of the orange has been steadily stacking the deck in their favor. Maybe the Dems pull their heads out of their asses and realize the contours of power have changed substantially and that they actually need to do something about voting rights (and hopefully the **** their voters need, like healthcare and wages) but more than likely they will stand still waiting for their old dance partners to rejoin the waltz instead of trying to burn down the building.
  7. It's triple digits here with a humidity of a bit less than 90%. Really miserable outside.
  8. I think s2 works ok if you binge it right before s3, but I can see it not working very well on it's own. I can see what they were going for with it, but imo it feels like a half season with lots of less than great padding.
  9. It's definitely getting worse here. I suppose I need to come up with escape plan sooner rather than later. There's a lot of states that are much redder than Texas, (and even some purple states) but I think Texas is a good model of how the Republicans intend to govern purple states when they get into power. The game plan is to make voting extremely hard and doubly so for areas likely to vote Blue while gerrymandering the **** out of districts to ensure that you end up with an outsized number of Republicans compared to what proportionally gets voted for. We can already see this with several states that went for Biden in 2020 and I get the feeling it's going to ramp up in the aftermath of 2022.
  10. Hold on there partner, I think we need to wait for all the details to come out. We don't want to jump to conclusions, as always the assumption of innocence must be given. It's too easy to try and make Israel look monstrous when the truth is more complicated. Oh wait this is about Russia? Fry the Orcs alive. It's been reported several places and is almost certainly legit. It shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who has been paying attention to Texas Republicans for any measure of time, but it's getting scary to live here.
  11. The last thing I saw Wheaton in was Rent-a-Pal, where he slowly drove a man insane through a cursed videotape or some ****. The beard face worked for that but I don't think that's a compliment at all.
  12. Jurassic World: Dominion Well I'll be, I think I've found the worst movie of the year or maybe even the decade. It's hacked together predictable dinosaur jump scares and epic dinosaur wide shots stitched with some **** about unethical scientists and heartfelt moments without the heart. Oh and giant bugs. I don't recommend it at all. Almost anything else would be better than that 2.5 hours.
  13. What really got to me is how they started convincing themselves that she was infiltrating their county. At this point I'm wondering which panic based on bull**** is going to get someone killed first, this CRT stuff or the pedojacketing of LGBTQ folks.
  14. Peaky ****ing Blinders 6 ep1-3 Somehow I missed this coming out last week. It's in line with the previous seasons, but without Helen McCrory which is a big loss that is felt throughout the show. Still it's good, maybe not **** in the eyeball good like Obi-Wan, but I'm enjoying it well enough. Also Anna Taylor-Joy gets more than she did in s5.
  15. The Boys s3 1-5. It's very strange, the show goes very hard in a lot of ways that I'm surprised it was able to get made. Fecal matter in the eyeballs 7/10 5th best Star Wars
