PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)That would be truly disappointing if true. Not because I'm dead set against it being removed. No, I don't care about that. But there's the small matter of a character breaking bug that's preventing me from playing the game right now, and I would be down right pissed if Obsidian put this as the higher priority. Seeing as I currently shelved the game after my Cipher got screwed up with the double-click equip bug, I'm inclined to agree.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)You have to be joking. You're seriously saying that men NEVER, EVER get prejudice sent their way? Really? Well...something something prejudice + power = misandry. Of course I've never been able to understand how say Ellen Pao(current CEO of reddit) or Kristen Gillibrand(US senator from NY) has less power than some factory worker who barely makes enough to support his family, but I tend to view power as more of an economic or political attribute than vague social attribute.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Just my opinion here, but probably because Female to Male is less common than Male to Female on the internet scene. I mean, if you go looking for trans porn, you're going to find almost entirely MtF stuff. If you look for notable individuals, it's also MtF dominated. To be honest, the only FtM I can think of off hand is Chaz Bono and he has quite a bit of time in several spotlights. I'd be interested at looking at the rates of FtM and MtF compared in terms of percentage of population, but I can't find any good studies with my weak googlefu.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Somewhat relevant here: A backer, whoever that might be, submitted this controversial limerick to Obsidian and unless the devs working on this are incompetent(I don't believe they are), it was looked over by at least one person who found no problem with it. With this in mind, is there any reason to remove it beside it offending someone? If that reason is "transmisogyny doesn't fit the setting", then why does rape, religious persecution, racism, and slavery belong while that doesn't?

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)The only one who can do that is the gold backer who submitted it, and he hasn't revealed himself yet. Oh God, I hope they do not. No one deserves the wolves at their heels that would cause. http://youtu.be/9cDZlI0mFSE

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Is not... quite true. None of those people have anything to do with FemFreq, and while I know GG has seen this, they are not the ones starting it and this is kinda outside their usual 'territory'. As far as I know the FemFreq team consists of three people, not sure if there's more: Anita Sarkeesian Jonathan McIntosh (writer and producer) Katherine Cross (secretary) Here are my sources https://i.imgur.com/3krmDzG.png https://pdf.yt/d/QnYk8zz4nV8hfVfv And they spent 40% of $400k on salary.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Correct me if i'm wrong, but are you actually trying to defend #killallmen? That or he's never been exposed to black people , particularly from urban areas, for a significant amount of time.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'm going to explain this once, which you will no doubt ignore. How high is the possiblity of there being an actual killing spree against men by "SJWs"? Ok, how many times has the panic defense actually been used by murder defendants? Also, are you going to post here again or did you make an account just for that? So are you arguing that somehow this joke is contributing to the actual murder of transpeople? That sounds like a slippery slope if I ever heard one... Look, I'm not arguing that bad things don't happen to transpeople, they definitely do. But I'm pretty confident that this joke has nothing to do with those things, and will never have anything to do with those things. This isn't a hill I'm going to die on. I'm just pointing out it's a little disingenouous to make them equivalent. I don't think that they believe that people posting #KillAllMen are ACTUALLY going to kill all men. But I do think that it's hate speech regardless. Of course, now that I think about it...there was Valerie Solanas, so violence from this crowd isn't completely unheard of... Neo-Nazis and White Nationalists will likely never have their "day of the rope" or mass extermination of people they dislike in today's world. It's still hate speech because it's hate. Why people make excuses for hate of any kind is beyond me.

Also, are you going to post here again or did you make an account just for that? You know it says in the article you linked all but one attempt at that failed? And I find it funny that you're claiming the defense "It's just a joke" for #KillAllMen, but are asking for this JOKE to be pulled here. It reeks of double standards. I'm honestly convinced Arouet is trolling after reading these past few pages. The forum has an Ignore feature. If you can't ignore them, Ignore them. Getting caught in a circle jerk does no one any good.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)A developer? I thought it were people with hashtags like "killallmen" who thought that the joke is literally Hitler. Don't forget banana nazi.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Please don't change this Obsidian, I've played all of your games and have been a fan since I was 12 and I don't want to see you have to hold back because someone with a twitter is offended.

SWJs want to censor backer created content.
PK htiw klaw eriF replied to kirottu's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If Obsidian actually changed it, I'd lose pretty much all respect for them, as I would for any company that caters to insane twitter freakazoids that go out of their way to get offended. I can't disagree, especially if it was removed without consent from the backer who tossed in at least $500 to get it in there. If you're going to promise something to backers, don't renege on that promise.

PK htiw klaw eriF replied to kirottu's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If you're going to change it, I certainly hope you either write the person who backed it a check for his/her donation back or allow him/her to substitute another original stone of their choice. But don't change it, it's a nice little reference to The Crying Game.

So bashing Yankees fans is ok because the Yankees are evil, and bashing someone's politics is similar? Yankees are the National Socialists of sports then. It makes a lot of sense when you think about it. I do agree in general, despite being relatively new here. Most politics discussions manage to be relatively civil(aside from trolling, which I myself will occasionally engage in), with more effort into making points than calling someone an **** and telling them to **** off. Just my opinion, I'm used to toxic places on the interwebs though.- Proxy wars in the Middle East
Yes unfortunately I have first hand experience of this, a friend of mine, a reasonable, intelligent and cultured gentleman holds similar quite unreasonable views. Not quite as extreme but his impression is, as you say, that they are not really Muslims. Interesting, as that sounds similar to some Catholics' opinions on Protestants.- Journalism and bias in the gaming industry.
It was a joke mate.- What are you playing now?
Happened to me too mate. Think I'm gonna shelf PoE until the worst bugs get ironed out, perhaps a week or so.- Journalism and bias in the gaming industry.
