  1. Is that where you have to slime/box jump onto a platform with rotating skulls/smiley spikey faces and then jump to the next platform with those? That gave me quite a headache. The rest of the level is a cake walk in comparison and so is the last level. The final boss on the other hand... completly different story. Stuck there for a week now.
  2. Honorable mention for Dishonorable That sounds wierd.
  3. Tried playing some The Secret World. The writing is great, but man am I not enjoying the gameplay. Don't think I can force myself through more of it.
  4. Here let me help you: I own over 100 games on Steam, but I am disappointed with the recent sales. This is my point. Anything else you need help with? Didn't need help in the first place. But since you are offering. how about you come over and do some dusting.
  5. Finished the campaign in Anno 2070. Loads of fun, though I had some real trouble trying to salvage my economy. Was good though that the combat bits were just that: bits. Building a fleet to attack the enemy may be the objective, but it really only is a minor thingie. Cleaning up the oil spill that has thrown the eco-balance to beyond catastrophic, while keeping people fed throughout the cleaning process... May not be marked as an objective but its what made the level memorable.
  6. Noone is telling you to buy anything from specific retailers. Don't want to buy from Steam? Don't.
  7. 1. Giana Sisters Twisted Dreams 2. Adventures of Shuggy That's all I remember for now.
  8. Don't ask anyone, Do what I did: walk against a concrete beam Just do at a higher speed than me. I'm still concious so it didn't work...
  9. Low ceiling basement. Was absendminded and walked into a low beam. Now my head is bleeding... Ouch.
  10. True, got carried away with vowels and added U to the list even though U is a case by case thing. I guess if it has the latin root such as uniform or uranium etc then its "a". When it doesn't then its "an" urgency, "an" ulterior motive etc. With abreviations its wierd, but it isn't the sound of the letter but the word that is the name of the letter that is actually pronounced. So what you are actually saying is Gorth is an excom Operative What I find confusing is things like "an EU council meeting" if using the abreviation, but "a European Union council meeting: if you don't use it.
  11. Ok sorry, but is driving me insane. The difference between "a" and "an" If the following word starts with a consonant, you use "a". The N in "an" is only added because of phonetical reasons when the next word starts with a vowel or, very rarely, a silent H. So it is "a pokemon" not "an pokemon" It is "a beta" but "an early beta" and in turn "a very early beta". When unsure, you have to speak the words out loud. Is the first sound following the article "a" a consonant? Then there is no N. Is the first sound a vowel? Then you add the N. So to sum up, its only "an" if the following word starts with an A,E,U,I,O and on very few occasions an H. But usually the H at the start of words actually does have a sound and therefor usually it is "a" without the N for words starting with H. For example "When she was young, Jessie wanted to become a nurse at a hospital for pokemon" Sorry, I had to get that out of my system and you did say we should comment on these things
  12. From what I hear you pretty much played half-way through the single player camapign
  13. Since we are talking about management games. Have any of you played Fate of the World? That is a good game. Depressing, but good.
  14. Use the TorBrowser to go to the Steam website - Steam will not be able to tell your region and allow you to buy anything you want. Once you own it, the Steam Client wont care where you are. That's what I did last time I wanted something that was region locked.
  15. You can feel like a terrible person now, I never do that I feel rather detached from the who's who in that game. And if I see them as anything I label them with the leader's name.
  16. Spend about 7 hours doing the third stage of the Eden event in Anno 2070 and realized that while I could probably build a fleet to wipe out the npc factions, there is not enough copper on the map to let me finish the main objective even if I do start a war to get at the copper on other islands.
  17. Was going to play an hour of Anno 2070 before bed. Lost track of time now its 6:30am...
  18. If you fund Danny boring, I don't dare ask your opinion on Sansa
  19. You moved homes or moved off the couch? ....just another quiet day here. The later is a prerequisite for the former I moved out of the chair in front of the computer in a tiny corner in a way-too-sunny-to-see-the-screen backroom in a little house in Cyprus and celebrate my geekness by moving into the quintessential batcave called Mum's Basement - which for me is lockated in Greece - as I send out CVs during the job hunt. The whole thing will be made a bit easer by my parents moving back to Cyprus again after the holliday
  20. Playing the Eden event in Anno 2070. Love the Deep Ocean expansion as it added more career levels to the factions and gave me awesome things to work for: unlocking the Eden Initiative top ability that makes my colonies immune to disease and saves me from building hospitals
  21. I moved
  22. Happy birthday!
  23. I am stuck on level 3-8 at the moment.Which means I jus don't want to finish another level with over 50 deaths as I did the Temple of Doom level
  24. As a quick break from work (last day is getting hectic) I'd just like to add a small commet on your last post (and if I find time I'll PM you a bigger post ). Your wife is a teacher? Perhaps a different insight might help your parents then. My mother is a teacher, my father is a professor and everyone they know is one or the other. What my experience is from growing up in this whole education environment is that people get used to their role and have trouble to switch it off outside work. They don't even realize that they are still in teacher mode or are entering teacher mode. It's taken me a long time to smile through some family or friends of family moments without getting seriously annoyed. If your wife teaches 8 year olds for example (or whatever class she teaches, it hardly makes a difference), she spends hours every day being the one who by default has to explain things, has to know things better and has to have the experience. She is daily in an environment where she is expected to know everything and admitting ignorance on a subject may not really be an option. For us non-educators, that attitude can be quite a challenge in a social context. But it helps realizing that it's part of how the job shapes people and it doesn't mean they are arogant or do not value others. Then again you are a teacher too, if I remember correctly? Then I am just typing stuff you probably know But it may help your family get over the resentment.
  25. I always counted the Ishar series as part of that genre as well
