I confess I used a single Paralyse scroll to win. Which is maybe a bit cheesy, but it worked. I also didn't find the charm to be the largest problem, but instead the fampyr's insane accuracy, high damage, high interrupt, and crazy speed. They kept basically any of my characters interrupt-locked until he or she was dead. Then I went for a paralyse scroll and won the fight pretty easy.

I would not max Perception and Resolve. Unless you intend to tank (which it doesn't look like from the rest of your build) I would keep them at 10. A Dexterity of 18 is also recommended, as you gain comparatively more from it as a two-hander than any other build. And Intellect of 14 is useful on a fighter, giving you 1 extra second on your Knockdowns. Speaking of which, grab Knockdown, way better than Disciplined Barrage.

Companion Genders (small spoilers)
Greensleeve replied to Jemeryl's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
It was rather impressive how long it took. -
Bounty: Songsmith Roska
Greensleeve replied to Sosseres's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Something to bear in mind is that Songsmith Roska is outside of the dungeon. There is zero need to enter it to complete the bounty. -
Party size
Greensleeve replied to Greensleeve's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Well, people have played the BB, and presumably the mechanics regarding XP-sharing amongst party members are known by all. -
Any opinions on recommended party size? In BGII I always played 4, maybe 5, man large parties. It wasn't really worth it going for the full 6. Any suggestions for Pillars of Eternity?

Keys ? When ?
Greensleeve replied to Skysect's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
FFS, game will be released in two days. They still have time. One day or another won't make a difference if you can't play game before 26th anyway. Some of you act like children (Mommy! I want that new toy NOW!!!) or women with PMS. You backed this game because you wanted it to make real, or because you wanted to brag that you get the steam-key before anyone? Then that person must be very silly in considering/ordering DIGITAL copy. At KS campaign there weren't any information that backers will get keys before release anyway. So it's not that Obsidian cheated anyone. They might have ordered the physical edition like i did too, but since that will take weeks for us in europe to get here and even more weeks after for the DVDs they have no choice if they want to play this week. You are aware that all the physical stuff has already been shipped, yes? It's all in transit, and scheduled to be delivered on the 26th. If it isn't, that'll be due to local postal services. -
How important would you say it is to match ones damage type to the DR of the enemy? Is the drop in damage significant from using, say, a great sword against plate armour? Also, it seems to me that the estoc bypasses many of those problem simply by virtue of its DR bypass. It seems to be as strong against plate as any crushing weapon would be.

Yeah, I saw that combo and it looks a hell of a lot of fun, but I'm fairly set on a two-handed weapon on my first playthrough, and I'm worried that the attack speed loss from Vulnerable Attack isn't going to be made up for by 5 DR bypass. But the lack of an accuracy attribute is indeed making me reconsider Savage Attacks slightly.

Keys ? When ?
Greensleeve replied to Skysect's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm mostly just waiting for the other stuff right now. I know the game isn't going to come out until Thursday, fine. But we're supposed to get some nice supplementary material along with the keys, like almanacs and guidebooks. That's the stuff I want right now. -
I don't even need your portraits, lady. I see a guy selling postcards with giant watermarks on them and I tell the guy to maybe not use watermarks. In return I get an unwarranted "you disgust me" reaction. Well, if you want to get rude, whatever, have a nice day. This could've been a situation where everyone thanks you for your pics, lots of people download them, everyone knows who drew them, etc. Instead you're drawing a weird pleasure from showing pictures to people and then not allowing them to use them, while having 2-3 white knights being on your side. This could've been so much more for you, but I guess some people don't know what's good for them. Try to find a watermark on this, and then imagine seeing a giant watermark on her face: -Mona Lisa- That is literally the worst example you could've given. The Mona Lisa is public domain, no one has the right to watermark it. No one owns the right to the artwork of the Mona Lisa (though the Louvre I believe owns the physical painting). This is a case where an artist publishes her own artwork, artwork she owns, herself. Watermarking, and thus protecting it under copyright and maintaining ownership over it, is thus something she damn well should do.

I don't understand how this is a debate. Wespenfresser created a piece of artwork that she owns under copyright law, that she protected under copyright law. These protections are not there to stop people from removing them, this will happen regardless. These steps exists so that she continues to hold the right to the artworks. Did she not take these steps, did she not watermark the picture, she would have lost the right to do what she wished with her own ****ing artwork. None of you have any right to demand that she gives up her ownership of anything she makes. Wespenfresser, continue to watermark your stuff. Try and ignore the **** you get thrown your way. It's hard, but it's worthless noise. Ignore it. But keep fighting for your rights as an artist. @Luckmann, yeah it's fair use to remove the watermark. It is not fair use to then publish the portraits without the watermark in a public place. That is totally breaking copyright law under basically any jurisdiction (certainly Swedish law prohibits it). So you were in the clear all the way until you uploaded these pictures without the watermark. That's where you crossed the line.

Greatsword vs Estoc
Greensleeve replied to Greensleeve's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Ok. Well, at least the weapon has an ability now, even if it is a boring one. -
Given what I've seen, aren't the greatswords basically always inferior to the estoc? They do the same damage, same speed. They do have different damage types, which might matter some, but crucially, the estoc ignores some DR. Greatswords seem to be unique amongst all weapons in that they completely lack any type of defining feature, not even using the best of two damage types. Is this really correct, or is the wiki information wrong again?

Player character clinic.
Greensleeve replied to Karranthain's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
I'm going to try for a soldier monk. Probably breastplate, a nice awesome looking hat, greatsword and an arquebus. I might decide to go for an estoc instead of greatsword, which would deprive me of the accuracy bonus for arquebus, but that's ok. Human or Aumaua, though I really want to play an Aumaua fighter too, so I'm thinking human for first character. Will almost certainly grab Weapon Focus: Soldier (or Adventurer if estoc), Bloody Slaughter, Savage Attack. Maybe these aren't as good as they look, in which case I'd like to know, but they look good on paper. Definitely grabing Turning Wheel and Force of Anguish. Unsure about other abilities.- 48 replies

Player character clinic.
Greensleeve replied to Karranthain's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
Fairly certain they did this because of reloads. Really, really, really hard to reload wheel-lock pistols when you have one in each hand. They could've included some sort of dual pistol one-shot option though. Maybe in an expansion.- 48 replies

I was looking through the wiki and found this page: http://pillarsofeternity.gamepedia.com/Weapon#Melee_Weapons Is this accurate? Do all melee weapons within the same class deal equal damage? I don't really mind either way, but it'd be nice to know whether to trust the information or not.
