  1. Thank you for the heads up. I haven't been on kickstarter for a while, I would have missed this I'm now a backer.
  2. Any game I can choose my gender. I check this first, before reading anything else about a game. Exploring, like in Morrowind and Skyrim Prefer modern settings. KoTORs. Lightsabers, and npc interactions, and just everything. ^^ Toolset. The range of mods available for TES and NWN games are mind boggling. PCs actions to mean something. Okay; none of the games really do this. That's where my ability to wander off into lala land comes in handy. Divine Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga. Hilarious interactions, fun gameplay, which led to a scarily addictive game for me. Established lore. No making crap up to magic yourself out of the corner you bungled yourself into. Game expansions. Proper ones. Holodeck! Dammit... I could've sworn...
  3. 1/8 of the companion writing tyme dedicated to sappy Fan Service. I wish someone would write a low-combat romance CRPG, even an indie one. They would make a fair bit of money and lots of folks would be happier and not haunt games like this with their demands. "Assume the position" in NV, said everything and was to the point. More dialogue than that is just lip flapping. (jk) Just in case Edit: sorry, I didn't see the bit you wrote above the quote. Makes my reply seem somewhat silly.
  4. I agree with this. If there is going to be a romance, and I think there is, hopefully it'll be someone that has been written with romance in mind. Valen was my first(?) in game romance. I didn't like him at the start either, but he grew on me. Imo, he's an example of a fairly well done, and believable romance. I don't know what the others in that game were like. The same?
  5. 1. Yes I'll answer the second one, because I'm tired and when I'm tired, I don't know when to shut up. Because friendships are simple, and easier to believe. You don't see thread after thread of people demanding a gay/lesbian/bi/straight/tall/short/whatever else type of friend. Players either like them, or they don't. Romances though, have to be just so; and gods help Obsidian, should love interest X not be one of the above. It all ends up being nauseatingly silly. Yes, I can avoid them, but that's one of the problems I have with them. I don't think I should have to "avoid" something that's supposed to be optional. I think if a person wants a romance, then they should be made to repeatedly spout cringe worthy dialogue to get to the object of their desires. I want to be able to play from start to finish, never knowing that so and so could be romanced. My fear of the factions starting up, has come to pass. Otherwise reasonable people are now labelling others, that don't share their views. It seems I now belong to the antimancer side.
  6. So it's not just me? Took me forever to cart everything to the Sink, and organise them according to type. ^^ I did like how you could display your weapons or armour in Skyrim. I like the storage aspects of a home, as I can't stop hoarding. Which is strange. In rl, if I don't use it, out it goes. Wouldn't mind a droid type, like HK-47, as a housekeeper/guard/butler/resident critic.
  7. The first time I played Baldurs Gate(II) I didn't realize that my PC was running around in a thong. I thought she had pink legs to show that she was a girl. It wasn't until I put that armour on Anomen that I wondered why his legs were shiny instead of blue (what! I was still learning stuff!). So I played switch the armour. On my pc, both armours had pink legs. On Anomen, he had shiny legs.... Facepalm. I thought it all terribly funny, and kept on playing, I didn't worry about it until I hit the desert in ToB. All that sand bothered me. ^^
  8. Just because of that one time, I led the order to bog instead of the bay, and I get shifted to where I'm of most "use" apparently. To make up for it though; I annoy the others by saying cool stuff like: "Halt who goes there!" and "What is your purpose here." Lol Some in the order have no sense of humour though. And sticking my head in impossible places would keep me from doing my job properly. Well, when we're all prepared for a day at the beach and we arrive at a shallow, peat & moss covered wetland, then I think you can see why we weren't as thrilled about our location. (I was trying to think of things a guard would say in other video games and the only things I could think of is MGS's "Whose footprints are these?!" and "What was that noise?!") Heh. Yeah, the Elders face was covered in bites. haha But you know, no one would believe me about that sudden blinding mist. Plus someone could have said. "Hail young ranger wannabe. Should the sun be setting on that side?" Eh? Gotta go. Here come some of the Paladins.

  10. Fine; just so long as you guys don't stick me on watch when we stop at a village or city for the first and last nights. I hate it when you guys do that!
  11. Here is my greatest fear. As soon as there is any confirmation about romance; the threads are going to explode, and then the 'factions' will start up. The pro this, and the anti that. Please; no. I liked romances until it became pc. I play games partly to get away from rl politics of any 'cause.' Unless there is a difference in ideology or the npcs people are at war, in game, I'm in the no corner. Friendships I like.
  12. Hey, I loved Anomen. Romance should have been a stretch goal. 4.5 mil, or over should have done it. That would more than pay for the pile of asprin/beer needed for the writers. ^^
  13. I realized, last night, that I could help get another dungeon level by pledging $5 and adding to the numbers on ks. I'm not keen on multilevel anything, being directionally challenged (points to Order name), but I love that it's there. I may enter one or two levels, but I usually end up looking like I'm crying. You should see me in the vaults, not pretty at all. Anyway, congrats to Obsidian, and thanks to all the wonderful, and helpful people on here. You have all made this a fun experience. I fell asleep watching the ks numbers tick over last night. I never imagined something similar to watching paint dry could be so exciting. ^^
  14. Started out at $25 on KS. Cancelled KS and switched to paypal, and upped it to $100 plus $20 for shipping and $8 for the Order. My cancelled hairdresser thinks I'm seeing someone else. Discovered that if I actually read anything, I would not have to ask silly questions annnd just put my next Stacia book on hold (I love Chess and Terrible), and added another $20 for the expansion.
  15. @Loranc Ok, thanks for the reply. I'll just run with it on paypal. There is an instruction window where I can leave a note for Obsidian. Hopefully that'll do.
  16. Help! I'm currently on the paypal page. I've decided on the $100 pledge + $20 int postage and $8 for the order. How do I increase to $128, or do just make a note of it for Obsidian?
  17. Yes, Paypal is better for Obsidian. I believe Kick Starter takes a portion. Okay, thank you, I'll do that then. People don't panic when you see the total go down a smidgeon.
  18. @Ieo I might try a number of things, or even realise that no one but me will notice my ends. haha I wanted to ask, before I raise my pledge. Is paypal better for Obsidian, cash in hand wise, or is the option there for people that can't pay through ks?
  19. I'm just working up the courage to cancel my regular appointment with my hairdresser, so I can pledge more. I can go another two months without a trim. I'll just tuck the ends into a... a bun. Buns look good, right?
  20. I'm currently playing Fallout NV. It was while playing, that I recalled how much I enjoy the dialogue in Obsidian games; especially in 'Honest Hearts.' The other dialogue I loved was in MotB, between the two merchant devils in Thay before and after they'd tasked the Knight Captain with finding the fused souls. I'd reload their response upon being presented with one, many times. This didn't get me all nostalgic and trotting over to Obsidian however. I stumbled across the week old "Project Eternity" when I came here to find out how others were able to kill those deathclaws. So, to actually answer the question, I'd have to say NWN II plus MotB; and KotOR II. I haven't played the other Fallout games, but based on NV, I've since bought the earlier ones in the series, and will start them when I've finished my current game.
  21. Yesssss. Thank you; and also thanks to everyone for the welcome. *takes self off to look for suitable guard type portrait*
  22. I've been trying to figure out how to say just what you wrote. Personally I don't care what someone else wants to see their pc wear, so long as I can choose, or at least craft something I prefer for my pc.
