Sawx get the sweep today and have taken 5 of the first 6 on this home stand. Starting tomorrow they have a tough series with the Tigers. Hopefully they can keep the lead they've built up for the coming week so they have a bit of a cushion heading into the series at The Trop that will go a long way toward deciding the AL East.

Because French accents are associated with running away, gelatinous cheese, duplicity and small, unreliable motor cars. Only accents from This Blessed Plot can convince 'Muricans that there is a proper villain about. Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, don't be hatin' on French cheeses.

That's how I feel when I read about you fine folks waxing poetic about games like Company of Heroes or <something>: Total War. I know they're great games, I also know how ruthlessly I'd get obliterated in one of those games, on account of how much I suck at RTS games.

Frankly, after the DA2 trainwreck I'll happily take a tired and true "save the world" story. Although doing something akin to MotB would be fantastic. They're not running a Kickstarter, so they can't really do a Ziets or Avellone stretch goal.

It's pretty telling about Capcom that it's gotten to the point where Megaman devs are now making their own blatant Megaman knockoff because Capcom has banned Megaman forever. It looks much better than just another Megaman sequel, anyway. Yeah, this is so obviously Inafune & Co. telling Capcom to eat a ****, and obviously, unabashedly as Mega Man clone as Mega Man clone gets. I'm all for it, Capcom can go **** themselves. They quite obviously are content to just let the blue bomber fade out of existence. They cancelled the last bunch of Mega Man projects and have done a bunch of nothing with the IP ever since. They didn't even really do anything for Mega Man's 25th anniversary. If they're not going to do anything with the blue bomber, and it's painfully obvious that they won't, then this is as close to another Mega Man game we're ever going to get. I just hope Inafune has some legal council on just how close he can stray to the series he helped create without getting his pants sued off. They're going to make funding EASILY, they may make the initial goal today. I kind of hope they hit the far out consoles stretch goal. Even though I'll be playing it on PC, so it wouldn't make a difference to me, it would just be weird not to have this on consoles. This, Rayman Legends, a new Shantae (Shantae!) on 3DS announced, Shovel Knight incoming soon. So much good 2D platforming.

Still playing Saints Row 4 and having a blast. Super Power Fight Club is the only activity I outright dislike. As far as brand new activities, the multi-colored telekinesis throwing balls at targets is my favorite. Insurance Fraud is still, and likely will always be, my favorite activity overall. It never gets old. I'm likely pretty close to the end of the game now. I could have finished it a long time ago, but I keep doing side activities and collecting data clusters. There have been some hilarious mainline quests, like the Meal Gear level, Matt's fanfic, text adventure, and Saints of Rage. Also, whoever did the voice acting for Zynyak is my hero. I'd like to shake their hand and give them a hug. Zynyak is so amazing to listen to, both in the storyline and on the classical station (his portrayal of Romeo is AWESOME). The part where he had me is stitches.

So that was you on the tiger. I should have known. I want the pig more than the boar. I've found that it's not worth trying to win the events, you get all the same prizes whether you finish in the gold bracket or the copper bracket, just slightly more for higher bracket. Not worth the work. I just basically kill one troll or herd one or two chickens, then let the event run its course while I alt+tab out of the game and browse the net or make myself a sammich or something.

Did you notice the box says "live snakes handle with care"? Yeah. I also love the comments from the guards.
-
LOL at the Metal Gear level. That had me cracking up.
-
I wonder what happens if you use the training manual on the pig to get it to rank up. Do you get an armored pig?
-
The pig looks pretty awesome. I'll easily get enough blossoms or whatever the currency is before the festival is over to get one without really trying.

Whoever did the BG2 portraits had some strange fascination with putting scars around people's eyes.

Cutscene: The Video Game: QTE Edition - Now enhanced with Shower Scene QTEs. Not even Willem Dafoe could get me to "play" this.

As long as I get my 'Merica beck, I'm happy.

See Geralt jump. Jump Geralt jump. Edit: I just noticed something. That video is from 5 1/2 years ago?

World of Xeen is a good choice, if for no other reason than it will give you a good idea of what to expect in Might & Magix X, which is currently in development, as that was the game(s) they patterned it after. In case you had any interest in M&MX. As far as Ultima goes, like with M&M, you'll get a variety of responses as to what the best game is, but, boy, I never thought anyone would mention 8. 7 is the one that's likely most often touted as the best in the series, or 4.

Man admonishes police for weighing his crack cocaine wrong Chalk up another one for Florida.

Are there really people out there that see something being made by Uwe Boll and think "Oh man, I HAVE GOT to get in on this"? /looks at backer count Apparently 205 of them.
-
Yeah, that's for sure. The real-time M&M games had some ridiculous exploits, often due to dumb as a bag of rocks (Sorry, bag of rocks) AI.
-
See, this is interesting. I was under the impression that all of the MM games were turn based strategy, or at least all the older ones. But it Heroes of MM that are the strat games. Hmm... Yes, Heroes was a spinoff that wound up being a bigger deal (at least recently) than the core series, much the same as World of Warcraft.
-
In my opinion 4-7 is where the core series peaked. 4+5, which can be played as one huge game and collectively known as World of Xeen, are my personal favorites. Heroes is a good series if you're into strategy, it peaked with 3 and has been going slowly, but steadily, down hill ever since. Crusaders is complete and utter garbage, forget it ever existed. Dark Messiah I never could get into, but a lot of people love it. If nothing else, it features the Ultimate Boot of Fear and Destruction, which is pretty fun.
