Fat Athletes With Wood - aka The Baseball 2014 Thread
Keyrock replied to Keyrock's topic in Way Off-Topic
Yeah. They're playing their worst stretch of baseball right now. Starting a series with the Angels on Friday. Key series for both teams. Angel's Garrett Richards went down with left patellar knee injury. Huge hit for the Angels as Richards was their staff ace this year. The injury could be anything from a dislocation of the knee cap or a tear of the patellar tendons or ligaments. Won't know more until the MRI results come in. I'm not an Angels fan but really hoping this isn't serious. It's torn, he's out for the rest of the season (and then some). Devastating blow to the Angels. -
I finally made it to Luskan in Neverwinter Nights. I had more side quests to tie up around Port Llast than I realized. The Brother Toras battle was the toughest thing I encountered in the Port Llast area of the game. Not brutal, but definitely challenging. Homeslice can unleash some pretty brutal spells. Now onwards an upwards to chapter 3.

Everything gets pirated. Freakin' open source programs freely available get pirated. In fact, the pirates that pirated the Pillars of Eternity Beta were themselves pirated, by pirates that were also themselves pirated. We're so many layers deep in pirating now that I'm not sure there is anything legitimate left in the world, it's all pirated copies of pirated copies.

Adult females overthrown teen males as largest gaming demographic
Keyrock replied to Bryy's topic in Computer and Console
I doubt this will change anything as far as "core games" go at least not right away. Personally I would welcome a bit of a shift. I've had my fill of **** yeah, bro! *brofist* games, I wouldn't mind playing something different. Plus, even with a bit of a shift, I can pretty much guarantee that plenty of brotastic games would still get made. -

I, for one, welcome our new adult female overlords. -
The Future - Or whatyouwannasee?

On a serious note, party-based, turn-based, first person cRGP. Might & Magic X kind of got my juices flowing for that kind of game again. -

Linear third person action game with an emphasis on setpieces and quick time events. -
Selfishly, I kinda hope Nic Cage never gets out of financial trouble so that he has to keep starring in these hilariously awful movies. His accent in this trailer is Magnifique!

These forums are super-slick. Your web dev is a genius.

I'm used to it now, but it drove me nuts for the first couple months. -
I grew up on AD&D 2nd Ed., which is basically 1st ed. with much of the optional stuff thrown in. I like the system a lot but it does have its drawbacks, the biggest of which is that character classes are rather rigid and narrow. There's a very specific optimal build for each class and any other build will almost always be at a good bit of disadvantage.

So, there's a cyberpunk bartending game in development, because why wouldn't there be? Double bonus points for the url of the blog page being "waifu bartending".

What's happened to the Oakland Billy Beanes? They should still at least get a wild card spot, because they hold a pretty big lead there, but they have been slumping hard as of late. They need to get their **** together. -
One of my favorite quests in the game. I wound up freeing everybody, Belial included. It makes the most sense from a druid's perspective. Quint was a fool but he was tricked into doing his part. Karlat was an even bigger fool to trust a demon lord, but he was trying to do right in his mind. Belial, well, Belial was just doing what demons do, tricking suckers and spreading misery, that is their nature. Demons need to exist for balance to be upheld. A few minor loose ends to tie up and then it's onward to Luskan and chapter 3.

6 inches you say? Well, there's already something out there for you, ridiculously overpowered and extravagant: http://gadgets.ndtv.com/mobiles/news/lenovo-vibe-z2-pro-with-6-inch-qhd-display-snapdragon-801-launched-571467 Me likey. With any luck, there will be something even more ludicrously overpowered next year for me to scoop up.

Dave, I'm going to send you a helpful link. There's someone I think you should talk to. He's a prince from Nigeria and boy oh boy does he have a great offer for you!

Two questions: 1) Where can I pledge? 2) Do you take PayPal?

Looks like we're getting a Resident Evil Revelations 2. This is welcome news to me as I am a huge fan of the first game and consider it to be a great combination of old school Resi pacing and atmosphere and modern controls that won't make you want to toss your monitor out of a window. Looks like this one is coming to home consoles (hopefully also PC) straight out of the gate, rather than going to 3DS first then getting ported over, like its predecessor. Note: It's a French site. Let Google translate it for you and enjoy the HILARIOUSLY garbled English. I love Google Translate.

Neverwinter Nights, believe it on not, is probably the game I've spent the most hours playing ever, it's either that or X3: Reunion (it's definitely X3 if you count all the X3 games together as one game). Granted, many of those hours have been in Hordes of the Underdark and in the plethora of user created modules. Still, this is either my 4th or 5th time running through the original campaign. I'm crazy like that. The hardest part is pushing myself through chapter 1. Chapter 1 is soul crushingly boring. I genuinely enjoy the vast majority of the game after chapter 1 quite a bit. Here I am whooping up some undead in Charwood: I can now cast Summon Creature VI which lets me summon a dire tiger (in addition to my bear companion and Daelen Red Tiger henchman). Dire tigers are freakin' awesome, they tear enemies to shreds. It's almost unfair for me to be rolling with that much meat shieldage out in front of me, hanging back, hurling sling bullets, and raining lightning bolts from the sky. Good times.

I'm thinking of getting a phablet in the future, something 6"-ish. My dinky 4" screen phone does the job, but I often find myself wishing the screen was bigger and would gladly sacrifice some portability for 2 extra inches of screen space. I'm not looking at any specific device yet as it won't be until next year at the earliest.

Good to see Chris "The Stretch Goal" Avellone (potentially) getting some more work. Poor guy has been so neglected lately. Edit: People are going to be extra excited when they find that it's (at least partly) a card game. Edit 2: As an aside, Sienna Storm sounds like a porn star name. That's a plus in my book.

It's a Reuben. Corned beef & swiss cheese on rye, toasted, with sauerkraut and Russian dressing.

I think I'm going to free the tree spirit when I play. What could possibly go wrong?
