  1. I've settled on a character. I went with Nord for blunt weapons and medium armor, plus frost resistance is never a bad thing and Woad will serve me well until I get my restoration skill nice and high and get a better shield spell. I'm slowly hoofing my way to Balmora, first stop Fort Pelagiad. Edit: Apologies for the FPS counter. I'm keeping it on until I run through a big city with lots of moving parts. I have all the new post processing effects from OpenMW on and ludicrous draw distance.
  2. I believe every citizen and lawful resident should have available to them a government ID card free of charge. This would not be much of an expense to the state, likely a minuscule fraction of what they waste because of red tape, ludicrous "business" expenses, redundant positions, not to mention money just disappearing into thin air that no one in government ever suffers any consequences for. You could then mandate a valid ID to vote, which some states already do, and it wouldn't penalize underprivileged citizens. Plus, it would go a long way toward curbing check cashing scams where scumbags prey on the poor.
  3. I got this out of sheer curiosity: First, I'm not even going to attempt to pronounce that name. It's an unpeated Islay, which piqued my interest. I mean, that kind of defeats the purpose of getting an Islay, since the peat is what gives them their distinctive smoky taste that sets them apart from all other Scotch whiskies, all other whiskies in general. I would say that the taste is most similar to a Speyside, which is curious since Speyside is about as far away from Islay as you can get in Scotland. It's a very sweet and pleasant flavor, feels really nice on the tongue. As an added bonus, it's 50% ABV but it doesn't burn as much as I would have expected from a liquor with that high ABV. It's rather easy drinking with a great finish. I'm glad I tried it, I'll definitely get it again, ugly ass pastel blue bottle notwithstanding.
  4. 16X the detail! I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with this character, I'm just messing around and making sure everything works correctly, especially since I installed some mods: Morrowind Optimization Patch Morrowind Enhanced Textures Morag Tong Expanded Morag Tong Polished Tamriel Rebuilt The first two are self explanatory, the next two are the mods @BruceVCrecommended, and the last is a giant mod aimed to reconstruct the original vision of the game, before it was scaled down. It adds the Morrowind mainland and new items and quest, hundreds of them. I'm not sure if it adds House Indoril and House Dres, I didn't see anything mentioned in the description, but those 2 great houses were supposed to be in Morrowind and joinable in the original vision of the game before it was scaled down. They're only mentioned in passing in the game that shipped. I doubt they'll be joinable in this mod, but it would be nice to have some interactions with them, perhaps some quests. So far so good. Side note: One of the optional enhancements with OpenMW 0.48 is smoother animations. They're still terrible by today's standards, but they're light years better than the animations I remember from playing this many many years ago. Obviously, I can't show them off in a still image.
  5. I made another batch of avocado butter but this time I swapped out the butter in favor of ghee. While the version using ghee is still quite tasty, I like the version using plain butter better. Knowledge gained.
  6. Remasters of 2 mediocre games. I mean, Shivering Isles is awesome, but I can't see myself buying a remaster of a crappy game just to play an expansion. Remaster Shivering Isles, have your character start at lev 20 and make it standalone, charge like $12 for it and I'm in.
  7. Those issues (hopefully) won't apply in my case since I won't be rawdogging it like you, rather I'll be playing via OpenMW 0.48.
  8. I've always been a fan of Volvos. I don't get to drive one, but I do get to drive a Mack Anthem, which is the next best thing from what's available here in the states IMHO. One feature that I really like on Macks is that they have a 2-stage accelerator pedal where if you push the pedal down further past the first "stop" it will temporarily drop you down a gear and change to more aggressive shift points on the automatic transmission. That's super handy for pulling hills when you are loaded heavy and more than makes up for the fact that Macks have the controls for going into manual mode and manually switching gears on the center console rather than the steering column, given that 95% of the time I would want to manually switch gears would be to drop it down a gear earlier than it would on its own to help pull a hill.
  9. Worth. I'd be willing to start small and put in the work if it means that one day I can drag politicians to hell, where they belong.
  10. @Hawke64is making me want to play Morrowind again, which is something I kind of wanted to do anyway. It's been a really really long time since my last playthrough. I kind of want to join the Morag Tong. I don't remember if I need to be Dunmer to join them or if any race can do it. Does anyone know?
  11. My plan is to ditch Android next time I get a new phone to get away from Google, but I don't any part of Apple's walled garden either. I want to get a phone running Linux. Those do exist but currently the options are VERY limited and prices are very high for rather dated hardware. The hardware I don't so much care about, I'm not a power user; I make calls, text, use GPS, listen to Pandora and Spotify, and watch the occasional video. So long as it has a halfway decent camera, i don't much care if it has the latest greatest processor. Hopefully a more affordable option comes along in the next year or two; I'm willing to pay more for The Penguin, but there are limits to how much more. In an ideal world it would be a RISC-V powered phone running Linux, but that's almost certainly too far away for my next phone. Some day.
  12. Interview with DONTNOD about Jusant and UE5 For me this was the surprise hit from the slew of demos we got on Steam a few months ago. They basically took my favorite part of Tomb Raider (climbing puzzles) and made a game out of it.
  13. Much of that is already in the avocado butter. Beyond the obvious avocado and butter I added lime juice, garlic (2 cloves to 1 avocado so it's quite garlic-y just how I like it), salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, turmeric, and dill weed.
  14. After 2 games muh Boys have a +60 point differential. Not too shabby. Also, every team in the NFC North lost this week so, umm, you're still in 1st @Bartimaeus
  15. Don't worry, we're still going to choke in the playoffs like we always do. Best case scenario: We get to the NFC Championship and get punched in the stomach by the Niners. Edit: Turns out Micah Parsons is good at football. Who knew? Edit 2: Giants mounting a comeback. I may have written them off too soon.
  16. I'll probably start another run when 1.3 comes out and we get Bobby Ray's.
  17. Muh Boys are up by 8 at the half, but given our massive time of possession edge, we should be up by more than that. Still, we're playing well on both sides of the ball. Dak did get away with 1 in the 2nd quarter; if Sauce doesn't drop it that's a pick 6 for sure, otherwise he's been clean and efficient. I also gotta give Zach Wilson credit, he's made some good throws and is hanging in there in the face of our relentless pass rush. Over in Arizona, the Giants are looking TRAGIC. I know it's an away game but the Cards were picked by most to be one of the worst, if not THE worst, teams in the NFL before the season and they are obliterating the G-Men. That raise that Daniel Jones got after last season is looking questionable right now. He's good running the ball, passing it, not so much.
  18. Scumbag move to add Denuvo after the review embargo has been lifted, given that the vast majority of reviewers put out their review the instant the embargo lifts. Puts a bit of a damper on a game otherwise getting glowing reviews. In fact, this is the least positive review I've seen/read and it's still quite positive.
  19. I made avocado butter. I was always told it was easy, but, for whatever reason, I never tried until today. It's indeed easy, with a food processor it's borderline trivial. Naturally, I had avocado toast. I suddenly feel the urge to dye my hair green and begin every conversation by disclosing my pronouns. I keed, I keed, I don't have enough hair on my head to dye.
