Either that or they'll pivot (suit types love that word) it into a live service. If EA had any sense they'd look at Apex Legends, realize they had no involvement in it, put 2 and 2 together, and leave Respawn completely alone to make the best game possible. The far more likely scenario is that EA will now pay attention to Respawn because of the success of Apex Legends and get involved in and ruin the game they're working on the same way EA ruins everything they stick their fingers in.

Conveniently, my desktop is very close to the balcony. I carry it about 4 steps out the door and blow it out there using air in a can.

Color me interested.

Big **** Nick would certainly be an upgrade for either Floridian team.

I often listen to podcasts while driving for my job. Today I listened to Alex Jones and Eddie Bravo on the Joe Rogan Podcast. I enjoy listening to conspiracy theories, even if I don't believe most of them, I find them entertaining. Not only was this one of Joe's longest podcasts at over 4 1/2 hours, but holy **** they went down some conspiracy theory rabbit holes. When Alex Jones gets going he goes 800 mph and jumps all over the place. Eddie Bravo ****ing with him was gold. The whole thing was *chef kiss* magnifique.

On the odd chance that a AAA interests me these days, "wait a year" has been my standard policy for quite some time. The last time I broke that policy was Monster Hunter World (no regrets).

I just did a stealth mission to buy a porno mag in Yakuza 0. This game never ceases to amaze me.

The Linux port of X4: Foundations is here. It's considered beta right now. *insert joke about Egosoft games being pre-alpha at full release* As a long time fan of the series, I'm pretty excited to once again begin building my galactic industrial and mercantile empire, which will ultimately fund my massive war fleet.

Pallegina and Maia have started bickering in my party. Good, goooooood. I hope they never set aside their differences and continue taking potshots at each other. :D I also started playing Yakuza 0 again after a bit of a break. Intended to play it for a hour or so. 4 hours later... This game... I wish I could find every person that had a hand in making Yakuza 0 and give them a hug. There's a lot of negativity out there (and rightfully so) with AAA being hellbent on turning everything into a live service. Then I play a game like Yakuza 0 and I remember that there is still some good left in this world gone crazy.

Bethesda could even use this opportunity to fix the engine bugs, or just integrate the mountain of community fixes into the game... /tries to keep a straight face

Jason Momoa is the warrior tank. The guy right in front of him looks rogue-ish, he's probably scouting for traps. I'm assuming the 2 guys behind him are a mage and a priest.

I subbed Pallegina in for Eder in Yoga Fire as my second tank. Now I'm running Beefstick (my main: Barbarian [Mage Slayer]), Pallegina (Fighter/Palladin), Xoti (Priestess), Maia (Ranger), and Tekehu (Chanter/Druid). I'm missing out on Aloth's pure magical damage output, but Tekehu and Xoti both partially cover that area. I have 2 meat shields up front (standard for a party of 5 IMHO). Between Xoti, Tekehu, and Pallegina I essentially have 2 healers (1 full healer in Xoti and 2 half healers in Tekehu and Pallegina) and I operate under the doctrine "It's impossible to have too many healers". I've got disables, buffs, and debuffs all types of covered too. It's working out well so far. As an aside, I hope Pallegina and Maia bicker during our travels. It was a secondary reason as to why I put Pallegina in my party.

Bethesda should hire them, it sounds like they'd fit right in.

I haven't played it, so this is hearsay, but the comparison I keep hearing about Anthem is that it's like Destiny 1 at launch, before all the improvements they made to that game over time. It's a bit ironic that Apex Legends is a game that EA was very hands off, didn't advertise almost at all, and just sort of quietly shoved out the door and it's a smashing success that is almost universally praised. Anthem is a game that EA was very involved in, was hyped and advertised tremendously, had a big demo and staggered launch campaign and the reception has been *wet fart noise*. It's almost as if EA is the problem.

In the grim darkness of the very near future, there are only live services.

Battle Royale is the current flavor of the month. At the time Fortnite came out, the BR king was PUBG, which was a broken, buggy, unfinished mess. Fortnite came out and gave people essentially the same experience (with added building mechanic) but in a game that actually ran well and wasn't a buggy mess. This is why it became a phenomenon overnight.

Plodding along in Yoga Fire with my Mage Slayer. Right now I have Xoti, Eder, Maia, and Tekahu in my party but I'm not sure yet if that will be my A Team going forward. I'm considering swapping Pallegina in for Eder. I'm enjoying the combat a lot more than Pillars 1, no doubt because of turn-based mode (it's the reason I bought the game). Sailing around on the seas is great, even if the ship combat isn't the greatest.

There's nothing stopping them from working on existing IPs forever, so we may never find out. I would be curious to see them try to make their own IP, though.

CDPR is still wisely playing the long game, preferring to build up good will and keep their customer base happy while raking in decent profits, rather than squeezing out every single penny from customers at the risk of alienating their fanbase. They'll be one of the few big AAAs left standing after The Big Crash of 202X happens.

I'm playing a mage slayer barbarian in Yoga Fire. Classic difficulty, expert mode, turn-based.

Be sure to share your thoughts on ATOM RPG once you play it. I've been considering getting it myself.
