What Are You Playing Now: The Other, Other Thread

I brought down a Xenon Destroyer with my Cobra Frigate in X4 today, I'm all types of proud of myself. The Destroyer was getting dangerously close to one of my stations, so I couldn't just ignore it, I had to do something. I can't just take on a destroyer head on, even if my frigate is top of the line equipped and modified, it has way more firepower and super beefy shields. My first plan was to do a couple strafing runs to get its attention and try to lure it away from my station until the cavalry could arrive, but then I saw an opportunity. A couple Teladi fighters engaged the destroyer, drawing its attention. I used that distraction to get in behind it and fly right up on its engines. I found a good spot where its powerful weapons couldn't get at me, only one of it's weaker turrets, and opened up on its engines. I took a bit of damage, but I managed to destroy both the destroyer's engines. I then retreated to let my shields recharge and got out in my spacesuit and went to work with the repair laser. Once fully repaired I noticed the destroyer was fighting a couple fighters and a gunboat. It couldn't move, but it was still a very dangerous target. I used this opportunity to find a blind spot in its weapon coverage and set up shop. At that point it was just a matter of time. The destroyer couldn't move and couldn't shoot me, it was a sitting duck. It took me a long, and I mean LOOOOOOONG time to get its shields down. Once the shields were gone the hull went down... I won't say quickly, but much faster than the shields. The moral of the story, don't **** with Kresusiso Enterprises. Just wait until I get my own destroyer fully equipped. -
I'm in upstate NY and it's snowing... today... RIGHT NOW... ON MAY 9TH! I lived in Connecticut for 30 years and the latest I ever saw snow was April 19th or 20th or so. * Global pandemic * Trump about to be reelected * Snow on May 9th We really are in The End Times... Dear Lord up in heaven, I haven't always been the best person...

If there's one sports league in Murica that will find a way to operate as usual during The End Times it's the NFL. It's probably for the best. I imagine suicide rates are already quite high right now. If we don't get our annual football fix, suicide deaths may outweigh whatever The Covid could do.

Any more Ds and you'd be playing a swery65 game.

^ Obviously, human and equine dongs may have different amounts of elasticity, rigidity, rebound, etc. Plus, we're dealing with cyberpunk here, so we need to consider partially and fully augmented dongs as well. I expect any developer worth their salt to THOROUGHLY research all aspects for maximum immersion.

I hope Cyberpunk 2077 has realistic dong physics. We've had boob physics for well over a decade, it's about time developers give us proper dong physics.

Get Even seemingly has you go through memories(?), much like the Animus in AssCreed, via a device that's like a VR headset strapped to your face. If I'm reading it right, it's one of those what's real and what isn't deals. You apparently play a guy named Cole Black (why do video game characters always have to have the most facepalm names?) who was a drug addict and became an assassin. At the beginning of the game you are apparently trying to rescue a girl who is being held hostage and has a bomb strapped to her chest because reasons. You find the girl and try to diffuse the bomb and KABOOM(?) Then **** gets weird(er). It's confusing. -
Small detail I appreciate: When you switch from your pistol to the phone, your character flips the safety on before putting the pistol away. When you get your pistol out you turn off the safety.

The Sis voice pack comes pre-installed with the base game. You just go into the audio options menu and slide the voices slider to 0%. The more important question: Who installs all of that but DOESN'T install a Steven Heck voice pack? I decided to take a bit of a break from X4 to play Get Even. It's from The Farm 51 and has mixed reviews from both journalists and gamers alike. I played Deadfall Adventures from these developers and that game was largely panned while I really really liked it; what can I say, I have weird tastes. Anyway, it's a FPS, but it's not just shooty shooty, the game is suppesed to be kind of a mind****. -
Dark Souls has already been mentioned. If you're looking for something more anime then I suggest Code Vein. Also, all the Risen games. I'd mention Elex, but that's more futuristic than fantasy... I guess Code Vein is modern-ish, but it feels fantasy.

So, essentially Grounded is Conan Exiles: Honey I Shrunk the Kids Edition? It's got potential.

This is essentially a free 2-ish hour demo for the game coming out in a few months, It's unremarkable, but perfectly functional turn-based cRPG. Check it out if you're looking to kill a couple hours.

Apropos nothing, has there been any hubbub about a new Due Sex (I know that's not how it's pronounced) game? Mankind Divided came out about 4 years ago and I haven't heard anything.

Fun Fact: The Sierra text parser is where I honed my (laughable) typing skills as a wee lad. I can still type "open door" with a swiftness you would not believe. -

You don't run the precinct in the Police Quest games, but you play a cop and Jim Walls, having been a cop himself, makes you follow correct procedures, especially in the first game. Also, you fall in love with a hooker, so the game is pretty true to life. -
Same as usual, they will fail in the most gut wrenching fashion imaginable and leave me a bitter, broken, disappointed shell of a man. 10-6 followed by the customary immediate exit from the playoffs.

I'm enjoying this pandemonium that, for once, isn't surrounding my team.

I got me a Paranid Odysseus destroyer in X4 and I even got it for free. I found it abandoned in the sector Faulty Logic VII. That sector is currently in a war between the Paranid and the Xenon and it is absolutely littered with tracker mines. The way tracker mines work is that when you get near them they home in on you, so you need to fly at a fast pace through minefields. With a smaller ship it's not that big of an issue. Space is big and with a small, or even a medium size ship you can just zoom through a minefield in travel mode and chances are you won't hit anything and be fine. With a destroyer that doesn't work, the ship is way too big and you will hit mine after mine. If you go slow and careful then the mines will home in on you and still blow you up, or cripple your ship. It took a good long time of careful navigation, finding gaps in the minefields, going way out of the way, and a healthy dose of save scumming to get that ship out of that sector and into safer space. I can't even bring it to my headquarters yet; I can bring it there, but I can't dock because I don't have a pier built yet. For the time being, I left the Odysseus docked at a Paranid wharf while I work on getting funding to build a pier. It's a pretty good destroyer, Paranid make good warships, so I will keep it and eventually outfit it with top of the line weapons, shields, and engines, but everything destroyer size is really expensive, so that will be in the future. Right now I'm concentrating on adding some production to my HQ to further accelerate my economy. I'll likely build a new station soon too, though I haven't determined what type of production and where yet. -
I made Placki Ziemniaczane (Polish Potato Pancakes) Not much to it, it's just finely grated potatoes, finely grated onion, and eggs to bind. Salt, pepper, and paprika to season and chives and parsley to garnish. Simple and delicious.
