I am eating Great Value (because I'm a cheapskate) feta cheese stuffed green olives... with a toothpick. I'm just sticking the toothpick into an olive and pulling it out of the jar and into my mouth. #LivingTheDream

I was really excited when Hellraid got announced forever ago and since then it's become vaporware. I guess a DLC for Dying Light is the closest we'll ever get to that game seeing the light of day (no pun intended).

What Are You Playing Now: The Other, Other Thread

There's no single answer since all 3 games in the series are fairly different from one another. Loot 'em up (Diablo-esque) would be the label I would go with if forced to at gunpoint, but it doesn't really fit for any of the 3 games. -
This post also goes out to Hurlshot. Sadly, the store was out of sardines in mustard sauce, so I had to settle for hot sauce. I also got a package in olive oil for variety. Gonna chop up some onions and go to town on a tin or two later.

I got me a Split Cobra Frigate: I freakin' love this ship. It ****s all over my Ospreys as a medium size war vessel. The Ospreys have their use, I will modify their cargo holds as much as I can and use them as heavily armed freighters that can venture into dangerous territory without the need of a fighter escort (though I may give them a fighter escort anyway), but as warships, they are just much too slow and cumbersome. The Cobra, on the other hand, is ludicrously fast and maneuverable. It can straight up dogfight with fighters. It's still going to get hit a lot, because for all of its maneuverability, it's still a big ship that presents the proverbial broad side of a barn as a target, but it's also way more durable than any fighter, in fact, it's shockingly durable for a Split ship. Its hull is only a little weaker than that of the Osprey, but it only has 2 shield slots as opposed to the Osprey's 3 However, I can compensate for that by withdrawing from battle momentarily, something the Osprey straight up can't, it's too slow. Shields have a delay before they start recharging and the delay gets reset any time you get hit, so you need to not get hit for a decent chunk of time before the shields start to recharge. Most larger ships don't have that option because they can't get away from fighters long enough for shields to recharge and they present too large a target to dodge all fire long enough, something that is difficult even in a fighter, but straight up impossible in a frigate. The Cobra, however, can withdraw from battle, let its shields recharge, then go back in. Even unmodified, this ship is so ridiculously fast that it can outrun most fighters. After the engine modification I installed (thanks Boso Ta) I'm nearly untouchable in terms of speed. I can get away from or run down nearly any ship and I have way more firepower than any fighter and most other medium size warships (gunships, corvettes, frigates), and I haven't even hit my final form yet. Eventually I'm going to install 2 forward firing mk 2 Boson Lances on the ship (they are absurdly expensive, 2.6 million a piece). These are the Split's most OP weapons, essentially SUPER railguns. They have a slow rate of fire, take a couple seconds to charge, but when they fire the projectiles travel so fast they are essentially hitscan weapons and they do UNGODLY amounts of damage. Think of them as mini Death Star Lasers. In other news, this game can be really breathtaking at times. Case in point, this neutron star in the process of gobbling up another star:

I gotta go back to Conan Exiles at some point. Marelooke, how much more content is there now?
-
I scored a 12-pack of TP; the good stuff, extra soft and with scented tubes. I feel like I hit the lottery.

I usually go for mustard sauce myself.

What sauce were they in?

As far as I'm concerned the boss is a spicy Latina.

I built a storage module and some defense modules (connector pieces that have a bunch of turrets that fire on attackers) on my HQ station in X4 plus I put several laser towers near it. They're just mk1 laser towers, so they're not very powerful, but they'll do for now. I then invested in an energy cell production module blueprint, which set me back 2 million credits (a very significant amount for me still at this stage), then built a couple defense modules and an energy cell production module on my sunrise flower farm station, which set me back another 750k or so in material costs and hiring a construction vessel. The investments will be well worth it in the long run. Energy cells are used in the production of almost everything, so I'll be putting that blueprint to use a ton of times going forward. Adding energy cell production to my farm makes it almost self-sufficient, I only need to bring in water. The module will pay for itself in time in increased profits. In other news, I captured my first ship today. I wasn't trying to capture it, but it happened that way. I'm doing a mission where I need to get shot at by at least 3 different types of weapons, to get data for Boso Ta, so that he can research shield mods for my ships. I purposely loaded up the cargo hold of my Buzzard heavy fighter with some fairly high value cargo, then cruised around shady sectors. Sure enough, a pirate scans me then tells me to drop my cargo. I scan him and I'm like "Brah, you're in a scout and I'm in a fully decked out heavy fighter, come and try to take my cargo." He was feeling lucky, so he attacked me. Very quickly, with some persuasion from my neutron gattling lasers, he changed his mind and bailed, leaving a battered ship behind. It's a cheap Kestrel, but what the heck, I claimed it and brought it back to my HQ to fix it up. Later on I found an abandoned ship, an Osprey frigate! The X games always have some abandoned ships scattered about. They are usually in places that are either far out of the way or very dangerous (sometimes both). In this case, it was dangerous. The ship was stranded in an area with a bunch of Xenon (Terminators). I was in my Buzzard, so I got their attention then led them on a wild goose chase to draw them away from the ship. Once I got them far enough away, I ditched them and beelined back to the abandoned Osprey. Surprisingly enough, it wasn't even that beat up, hull damage was minimal, and it even had halfway decent engines and thrusters, plus 1 turret. No shields, though, so I had to sweat it out until I could get to an equipment dock or wharf (I went to a wharf), I did make it without incident. I didn't have enough money to fully equip the Osprey, since I spent most of my dough on the blueprint and station expansions, but I at least had enough to buy top of the line shields. I'm pretty excited to get a second frigate. My fleet currently stands at 2 frigates, a heavy fighter, 2 scouts, and a freighter. -
I'm not against drafting a QB and having him sit behind State Farm's favorite NFL pitch man, but Jordan Love? Your team's front office obviously sees something in the guy I don't. I wish there was a live cam of Rodgers when that pick came in. I bet he was thrilled.

Muh Boys finally addressed their need for an edge rusher in the 5th round with DE Bradlee Anae. I know little about the guy, but I'm not expecting a lot from a 5th rounder. You never know, though.
-
I'm still trying to wrap my head around the packers trading up and taking QB Jordan Love. With how many interceptions the guy threw, I guess they're trying to bring back the Brett Favre era.

Some pictures of Kresusiso Headquarters. First up, my luxurious dock for small and medium size ships (I don't have a pier for large and XL ships yet, but I also don't have any L and XL ships yet): I wonder what my Boron scientist friend thinks of the fish tanks, given that Boron are aquatic. The office of my manager: Meeting the scientist face to face for the first time (that's me in the doorway): His (?) name is Boso Ta. He is the only Boron I have encountered in the game. I wonder if the Boron will be reintroduced into the game fully in a future expansion, much like the Split were with the Split Vendetta expansion that came out recently.

Muh Boys took CB Trevon Diggs in the 2nd and DT Neville Gallimore in the 3rd. Diggs could be a great NFL corner. He played WR before going CB and has good instincts. He's the brother of Buffalo's Stefon Diggs. I don't know much about Gallimore.

^ Initially, I didn't think I'd make it through much of that video because I thought I'd have to listen to 2 minutes of Cardi B, which is 2 minutes too long. Thankfully, they pull a bait & switch and it's actually a good song instead.

Not that rich... yet. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that building a storage module is the smarter solution than cramming 20 scouts somewhere on my station, almost certainly cheaper too. As an aside, the headquarters station is in a pretty rotten spot (I had no control over that). I'm getting attacked by Xenon (Terminators), Kha'ak (pissed off insects), and Scale Plate Pact (pirates) all the time. It's not a big problem right now since I have a decked out Frigate and it's mostly fighters coming to raid me, but if they ever send proper warships I'm going to have issues. I need to build some strong defenses. In the (distant) future I'm going to find out where the raiders are coming from and wipe them out to the last one. I very much hold grudges. Eventually, I will have the money to build a proper fleet, I'm talking 2 destroyers, a carrier, 4 or 5 frigates, 4 or 5 gunboats, and about 50 fighters. Then I remember everyone that has wronged me, roll into their sector, and go full Exterminatus on them. It's going to be glorious. -

It was a scout. I would need like 20 of them to have enough cargo space. -

I'm progressing in X4. I decided to move the story along and build a dock on my headquarters station. I could have just built a basic 1 medium ship 6 small ship dock that I already had a blueprint for, but I decided to splurge on a blueprint for a 3 medium 6 small luxury dock so that I can flex on the haterz. Once I got that built, I hired a manager then set about rescuing the Boron scientist I had been working with and bringing him to the station. Once I got him (? I can never tell with Boron) aboard that opened up research and one of the things I can research is teleportation. So I gathered all the resources I need for the research, flew them to the station and... wait, I can't actually transfer them to the station. That's when it hit me, I hadn't built a storage module, so where would I even store the materials? -
I've come around on the Lamb pick. I don't think muh Boys went into the draft with the intention of taking a wide out in the 1st round, but when Lamb was surprisingly still there at 17, I think Jerry just couldn't pass on a guy with that much talent. If we took positional need out of the equation and went on raw talent, then Lamb is arguably a top 10 guy. The idea of Amari Cooper on one side, Ceedee Lamb on the other, Gallup in the slot (?), Dak under center, and Zeke in the backfield... I better stop thinking about it because I'm getting a half chub.
-
Muh Boys took WR Ceedee Lamb. I figured we'd wind up taking an edge rusher. I mean Lamb was the best available guy on the board and arguably the best wide out in the draft (I think he's better than Ruggs and Jeudy, both of whom were taken ahead of him), so there's that, I just don't think that was our #1 need.
