  1. The main currency of being a fan of a team that won a championship recently is ammunition you can use to troll friends who are fans of rival teams.
  2. @RaitheI'm sorry to hear about your dad. Stay strong.
  3. Congratulations Bucks! Does this mean free cheese curds for everyone in Milwaukee?
  4. Slaw is good on pretty much everything. I find that on burgers and hot dogs chili in addition to the slaw is beneficial to the overall flavor. On pulled pork I don't hate chili on there, but I prefer just slaw. I don't think I've ever had it on chicken.
  5. Carolinians commonly put it on pulled pork, hamburgers, and hot dogs.
  6. Slaw and chili as a topping combination is a big thing where I live (read: The Carolinas), we put it on all sorts of meat.
  7. What kind of monster doesn't put pickles on a burger?
  8. Bucks got this in the bag, get that ticker tape parade ready, city of Milwaukee.
  9. Life hack: If you're in McDonald's getting chicken nuggets ask them for a cup of the spicy chili sauce they use on the new spicy chicken sandwich. That sauce is awesome and has just the right amount of heat.
  10. I watched The Mystery of Chessboxing, this is my 3rd or 4th time watching this movie; it absolutely still holds up. Ghost Face Killer is such a badass villain; no one can ever top White Brows in terms of wuxia villains, but Ghost Face Killer ranks highly. A generous amount of training montage goodness always makes me happy. It's interesting that the movie has 2 comedy characters, one a villain and the other the main hero. The comedy character is more often than not one of the hero's friends and/or classmates. The dynamic works here. There are some pretty noticeable cuts in the action, but I'm willing to forgive that when the fight choreography is this spectacular. I can't expect them to consistently get scenes this intricately choreographed in 1 take. The final battle is freakin' awesome and, in true wuxia fashion, the movie freeze frames and ends immediately when the death blow is landed.
  11. I just pre-ordered the white joycon model. I'm anti-pre-ordering when it comes to digital goods, but for physcal goods it's a whole different ball game because there is a legitimate availability question, especially given The Great Silicon Shortage of 2020. I'm 100% getting Shin Megami Tensei V (it's the reason I'm getting this handheld in the first place) and Metroid Dread.
  12. I'll be curious to see a teardown of a Steam Deck once they hit reviewers hands. The main thing I'm wondering is if the SSD is soldered on the PCB or if it is removable and thus upgradable. You can increase storage with microSD, but even a top speed microSD would potentially impact performance.
  13. Still playing Assassin's Creed Rogue. Much like in Black Flag, the ship you sail is a brig. You can upgrade it and make it a really powerful brig, but there are limits to how many canons you can fit on a ship of that size. However, there is a short section of the game where they put you in command of a man o' war and it's GLORIOUS. Sailing through choppy waters while mortar fire rains down around you, another ship is coming around to ram you, smoke is everywhere so you can hardly see, and you desperately aim your cannons through the chaos and open up a broadside volley on the charging ship. The only thing missing: Seriously, Ubisoft, how do you not splurge for a Manowar track for that section, you cheapskates?
  14. I'll be curious to hear your thoughts on it once you get it. As for GOG Galaxy, there currently is no Linux version. It may or may not work via WINE or Proton, I've never tried it. It's entirely possible Valve will put in some work to get Epic Store and GOG Galaxy and whatever other storefront that doesn't have a native Linux client to work via Proton, if it doesn't already, but I wouldn't hold my breath since Valve obviously would prefer you buy games from them. Alternatively, you could install Windows on the machine and then you wouldn't have to worry about compatibility layers. The trade off is running an OS that wasn't specifically tailored to the machine and since Windows is proprietary your options in tinkering with it would be limited.
  15. I guess I'm pretty lucky in that I'm rather adaptable to controllers. I'm fairly comfortable using almost anything, I honestly can't think of the last controller that really made my hands hurt. Apropos the Steam Deck, until I have one in my hands I won't know how it handles, so I'm mainly going by number of different buttons and axes. Given the rather excellent Steam Controller setup app which I'm sure will be adapted for the Steam Deck, I can imagine very robust control options.
  16. I do really like the physical design of the unit. It has 2 analog sticks, 2 trackpads (presumably with haptic feedback) and a real D-Pad (this is key). Granted, in practice I find myself using the D-Pad fairly rarely these days, but on those rare occasions where a D-Pad is superior to an analog stick, it's really really superior and the half trackpad half D-Pad that is on the Steam Controller is SUPER GARBAGE as a D-Pad. Also, not show in the picture, there are 4 paddle buttons on the back, 2 on each side. The point is, there are a ton of buttons and axes and so on. It looks to be a significantly improved Steam Controller.
  17. ^ I believe the screen is 720p (no need for anything more at 7"). At those specs is should be awesome in handheld mode and good at 1080p, any resolution above that will be a less than smooth experience unless it's a pretty old or extremely well optimized game. Well, with Fidelity FX Super Resolution 1440p would be in play.
  18. You can use it to play hot potato with your friends and family. Steam Deck - Taking couch co-op to the next level!
  19. Oldie but goodie: ABSOLUTE LEGEND
  20. Valve is back in the hardware business as they have formally announced their Steam Deck handheld. https://www.google.com/amp/s/venturebeat.com/2021/07/15/valves-steam-deck-merges-switch-convenience-with-pc-gaming/amp/ This seems to be the unholy lovechild of MSony consoles, the Nintendo Switch, and a penguin. Under the hood is a custom AMD Zen2 + RDNA2 APU, same as the PS5 and xXxBOxXx, though details such as core counts and clock speed have not yet been revealed. The device can be inserted into a dock (sold separately) to output to a TV, monitor, etc. It runs SteamOS 3.0, Valve's custom gaming-focused Linux distro, though there's nothing stopping you from installing Windows on it. Let's hope the Steam Deck fares better than the Steam Machines.
