  1. I would definitely like to see a printed almanac, at least in the higher tiers. Need to make that $500 tier more rewarding for people.
  2. Diablo 3 is a great game in abusing Checkpoint scumming. Also I can name many other games that also abuse checkpoint scumming.
  3. Any system can be abused. Check point saving can be abused. The game mechanics can be abused. If gamers want to abuse a system, they'll find a way. It's up to the gamer whether they wan't to abuse it or not.
  4. If you are at the $35 tier and pledge another $25, then yes it makes it $60.00. The extra $25.00 is only for one of those two $25.00 add-ons. When the Kickstarter is over, Obsidian will send you a survey and ask you what the extra $25 is. You have to pick either Beta Key or Extra Digital download in your above example.
  5. After the Kickstarter is over, you will be sent a survey by Obsidian to ask you what the extra $20 is. You just say it's for the expansion.
  6. You can go to the $140 physical stuff and add the $20 for the expansion. No need to go to the $165 tier unless you want Wasteland 2.
  7. If 50,000 people add the $20 expansion on their pledge, that's another 1 million dollars. Lets make this main game into BG2 size. Maybe this isn't a bad idea after all.
  8. Save scumming? Never heard of that term before. Is that some pegorative term to players who want to save the game whenever they want? What then is Checkpoint Saving? Checkpoint scumming? I don't see the problem with playing a game and then saving it where you are. And then returning to the game later to continue the game where you left off. I don't understand why anyone would be against this way of playing.
  9. When you have loot drop admitting they've lost backers, it doesn't inspire confidence in the game. Loot drop should be showing confidence in their game, not admitting that all is not well.
  10. I see a lot of problems trying to add the expansion as an add-on. Say for instance you give the expansion a $40.00 figure. Then the $165.00 tier pretty much becomes redundant and all those backers will go down to the $110.00 tier and add the $40.00 making it $150.00. So you would have to make it at least $70.00 for the expansion plus any extras (eg. Wasteland 2), otherwise pretty much everyone on the $165.00 tier will be leaving in droves.
  11. The people at those high tiers don't get the expansion when the game is released. There's no expansion in the box or at the digitial tier when you receive the main game. The expansion may never happen. The people at those high tiers are putting their money into the main game for a better main game. If an expansion happens, then great. But there's no guarantees.
  12. You're suggesting that Obsidian put an add-on feature with Kickstarter for the expansion at some price like an additional $20.00. In a sense, make it a pre-order for the expansion? Some people might see this as simply a pre-order and funds being diverted away from the base game to the expansion.
  13. Kind of meaningless. How many titles has Justin Sweet worked on with Black Isle/Obsidian? How many tiltes has Chris Avellone worked on? You're suggesting Chris Avellone has only worked on Planescape Torment and no other titles.
  14. I'd prefer if Justin Sweet was not hired. It would feel like Project Eternity would be similar to IWD and think Project Eternity should have its own identity with new artists.
  15. Don't forget, if they did reach $1.9 million they would have to deliver two games in 14 months. That's not a lot of time to make two games with 'literally hundreds of quests'. The 'literally hundreds of quests' was a quote from one of the creators.
  16. This kickstarter is a case of a 50/50 chance of getting funded which I think Obsidian thought about with their kickstarter. Where Obsidian excelled is their ongoing stretch goals and communication with their fans. While Obsidian had to scramble at first with their first couple of stretch goals, Obsidan then gave a lot of thought and listened to their fans on later stretch goals. Old School seems to have done the opposite by putting up some weird stretch goals and they don't have a forum to listen to their fans. It's all 'fly by the seat of their pants' stuff.
