  1. Mars: Nasa's Perseverance rover sends stunning images More eye candy from Mars. Some of it is a repeat.
  2. Ideal for the Barbarian/Bard.
  3. Not sure what it has to do with politics, but here's my favorite identity:
  4. She was overlooked for the Nobel Prize, even though it was her work that led to the discovery of dark matter. At least this does her justice.
  5. In a sense we still use base 60 for our timekeeping and our angle measurements. It has the convenient advantage of being evenly divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
  6. Yes. It is. Base 10 is arbitrarily founded on the number of digits on our hands. It's a completely artificial choice, but still valid mathematically. Computers are now oriented to using base 16, which at least makes some mathematical sense as a power of two.
  7. Next Generation Boondoggle, in honor of its massively overrun budget.
  8. The human brain grew as a result of the extinction of large animals I don't know that it's a complete explanation, but it's interesting to think about. This part was a little surprising: Becoming vegetarians made us more stupid. Heh, amusing.
  9. Miss Scarlet and the Duke has been a decent historical drama series thus far. They've obviously gone out of their way to be inclusive in the modern sense, but the cast is good and the episodes have been enjoyable.
  10. I'm pretty sure that everybody has biases of one sort or another, so eventually we'll all be cancelled and the world will be left to a genderless, bias-free AI overlord called "it who shall not be named".
  11. Wait, there is an actual Murderkill River in Delaware? WTF? Ah, it's Dutch. Well that explains it.
  12. ...and she dates the monster.
  13. From what I've read, the difference comes down to different ingredients and different cocoa bean sources. They taste different in a sense like wines taste different. It boils down to personal preference.
  14. Or perhaps Freud. Regardless, I'm sure the folks there will be 'very special'.
  15. All it took was a little prick.
  16. It occurs to me that one difference between the vaccines developed in the West and those made in China is that the former can undergo extensive field testing. China squashed the outbreak through draconian measures, so they might not have the infection numbers to detect whether the virus helps stop the spread, or probably even limit severe symptoms. They would be heavily dependent on animal testing.
  17. Russia literally has killed tens of thousands of Syrians. We bombed Iranian forces.
