Funny, I used to really enjoy the stuff that Whedon put out on screen. But now, knowing what we know, it's all got a creepy edge to it. But yeah, Dollhouse was a pretty good series. I wouldn't mind a remake with a longer run.

Personally I prefer not to shoot up the tanks. Just let the fish swim in peace.

At the time I had a sense that the game suffered a lot of criticism on release and didn't sell as well as expected. That may be why we didn't see a sequel. However, the responses seem better these days so perhaps there will be growing nostalgia?

Yes, I've tried some of them; a few are quite good. They can suffer a bit from balance issues though. Perhaps from a lack of play testing?

Yes, I've finished most of that campaign now. It's pretty decent, about on a par with the other Solasta campaigns. I'm not sure how much I want to finished the final slog though. The best part is the new add-on tilesets and other features that are sure to start showing up in user modules. It might even be possible to build an Icewind Dale-like campaign now.

"The Hundred Years War" by Jonathan Sumption, or at least the first volume thus far. It's a lengthy read.

I caught this via a posting on ModDB: there's a kickstarter underway for Undershadows, which bills itself as a 'horror adventure RPG'. Considering the low financial goals and hand-drawn graphics, this game actually seems surprisingly creative and artistic. It's targeted at a young audience though. There's a demo available.

Going back to give Tyranny another try. I'm enjoying it a little more now.

Because "metagaming"? From one perspective the NPCs are a gaming resource, which sometimes get expended. What this did for me is provide an incentive for a party member to intervene when an NPC gets in a bad tactical position, which is probably a more realistic behavior.

Yes I had crew members die on my latest play-through. I suppose it provides an added incentive to avoid boarding actions against tougher opponents, as well as to hire new crew mates.

I finally finished up a complete play-through Deadfire. It was a more enjoyable experience this time since I didn't prioritize chasing Eothas and just went where the story took me. Now I'm off to do the same with P:WotR. Yeah, it's almost retro gaming at this point.

Editor FreshLook on the Vault has been doing some interesting work to enhance the game appearance: https://forum.neverwintervault.org/t/project-fl/409 This would work with the existing game engine, adding ambient occlusion, ground fog, fixes to transparency, water depth, improved shadows, and multiple light sources for grass. Unfortunately, I think this is a long way from release.

It would have been more interesting tactically if sailing in opposite directions ended up putting more distance between the two ships.

Okay now my posts are vanishing. I feel like I'm being covertly censored here.

I got in a weird state on this forum so that I couldn't even like a post or use the contact tool. It either told me I was blocked or the system was in a bad state. The only fix was to clear out my cookies for the last month.

Here it's another winter snow adventure. My exit is an uphill sheet of ice that's about to get even worse with overnight freezing rain. That could knock out the power here, and it may not thaw until after Christmas. Just great.
