I'm finding Dorodo is a pretty good watch. It's certainly more adult oriented than many Anime series, with less of the goofy humor. The art for this fantasy medieval Japanese-style setting is decent as well.

What I'm finding these days is that I prefer a low power superhero series as it can focus more on the drama and less on spectacular visual f/x for the various uber powers. Plus they don't overload the cast with power variants.
