  1. 83.7% of the game opinions I read on the forums are bilge. Narrow-minded grumbles about the most trivially inane details. I'm surprised when the developers even pay any attention to it. If they tried to satisfy the majority of the grumbling, they'd end up with an even cr*pier product. I find I actually enjoy a game more when I pay no attention to the niggling whines.
  2. My curiosity question is: what type of Sci-Fi RPG would the folks at Obsidian most enjoy making?
  3. I was surprised to find dispraise is a real word, albeit synonymous with criticize. Seems it's an antiquated term that's fallen out of general use.
  4. You're thinking of Uranus.
  5. I'm keeping an open mind about this and hoping they can put together a decent game. Unless it gets heavily panned, I'll likely give it a try. Hopefully it'll include many of the non-combat elements that made BG interesting.
  6. Just about covers it...
  7. Scientists hack one of most common bacteria in human intestines. Well, hurray... wait, what? Is that really such a good idea? *tummy gurgles nervously*
  8. Padded envelope here; the box is in mint condition with no damage.
  9. "Another happy landing..."
  10. Witcher 1 had some really nice little environmental touches that added greatly to my sense of immersion: groups of birds that take flight as you approach, town folk who take cover when it rains, an intoxicated quest following a night of drinking, a decent amount of people moving about the settlements, and just the somewhat shoddy medieval look to the buildings and contents. Those small details can make a big difference.
  11. Since presumably it's an optional side quest to the main campaign, they can probably get away with it being fairly linear.
  12. I don't know for certain, but I'd like to think so. Statistically it varies quite a bit based on where you live. This study was pretty interesting, for example.
  13. Just about every week I hear another news story about bigotry and think, "it must be in the south". I find I'm rarely incorrect. Cultural inertia, I suppose.
  14. Neil Gaimon's American Gods gets full series order on Starz. So... hurray! Finally. I'm curious to see who they cast as Shadow.
