  1. Needs a Curly wub-wub-wub sound track... nyuk nyuk.
  2. It could be interesting if they settled the questions via the mechanic of a historian who is investigating the events leading up to the destruction of Caed Nua. She could interview (non-transferable) former party members, with each could give their own perspective on the outcome. In that sense, it'd be somewhat like Cassandra interrogating Varric in DA2.
  3. Wait until players find out that the sidekicks have more "optimal" attributes than the full flavored party members. Commence whining bombardment as the target bears into view...
  4. The extra weapon would probably be a lance, if there was mounted combat. Many of the extra weapons are a second ranged weapon, so I'm not sure the Knight is missing much.
  5. The ability to rest until a specific part of the day, like dawn, noon, dusk, or midnight. Ed.: dust => dusk
  6. Regarding the sidekicks, per https://www.fig.co/campaigns/deadfire?update=273#updates: So yeah, they're subject to change... including Ydwin.
  7. No, because it needs to reset the hamster on the little wheel and that little guy can only run so fast.
  8. God, just leave them out of the main game and introduce them completely in the expansion... This is a mess. Isn't that exactly what that quote says? So mess avoided. Yay. No it's not. She'll be in the main game as a sidekick. Sidekicks aren't companions and don't eat into their writing resources. They are more like glorified mercenaries. Right, we all read the updates. The problem comes later when, assuming she becomes a companion in the update, Ydwin suddenly develops a lot more depth and interaction. To handle that, they would need to give her a reason why she changed from taciturn to fully interactive.

  10. Another Trumped up U.S. political crisis... that may turn into a real one. This is getting old.
  11. Perhaps there'll be a Lernaean Hydra? That would fit somewhat with the Naga motif.
  12. Presumably she can be multi-classed into your preferred role for her. She might make a decent Chanter, for example.
  13. Thanks for the update. It all looks great, and I really like the new exotic moon godlike. For the color correction part though, the more drab look actually makes it more lifelike, gritty, and immersive. At least to me... tastes vary.
  14. It almost sounds like they should remove Ydwin from the first release altogether and save her as a full-blown character for a follow-on expansion set.
  15. He actually got his start around these parts (Seattle), and we saw him on the popular local comedy show Almost Live. Quite the humorous guy, and his science presentations were almost always entertaining. Unfortunately, as of late he gets a lot of negative press from the anti-science types. A sign of these recidivistic times, I guess.
  16. I really don't want to know too much about him until the game is out.
