I had a thought. For the sake of drama, one of the existing full companions could get a glorious death at a key moment in the campaign. One of the sidekicks could then be elevated to a full companion in the expansion as a fill-in.

This isn't particle physics, so I don't see a need for the designers to skew to some symmetrical class relationship. I'd rather see them improve and enhance the current classes.

Meh, isn't it better if they're working on the actual game rather than wasting time on making detailed updates?

Numbers are harder to get confused over than abstract icons though. Not to mention that there isn't all that much space in those thumbnails. Not as long as the number of icons remain low and their footprint is small. Humans can easily recognize 3-4 objects at a glance. True, however since some abilities are one point per use, you would have some thumbnails with 10 icons over them. Huh? One point per use = @

If it were me I'd get rid of the negative numbers and replace them with a matching number of icons. For example, -4 becomes @@@@. That will make it look less like a math problem.

It's not any one thing, it's the combination of pixie haircut, elf ears, spectacles, and short skirt. The short skirt is a good point. It doesn't quite fit in with the normal renaissance era attire. Maybe she needs some interesting tattoos to throw off the anime scent?

Eyeglasses have been around since the 13th century. It's hardly breaking verisimilitude to include them in a renaissance era civilization.

Another week, another plug:

The whole Fulvano's voyage thing didn't work for me. I didn't care about the Fishing and Sea Monsters stretch goal either -- that part stretched on for much too long. Otherwise I thought it was all top notch. The multi-classing explanation was the highlight for me and I'm looking forward to seeing that in action.

NWN used portraits; NWN2 used 3D models. For the most part I didn't think it was an improvement. 3D models are satisfactory, but not as memorable as good oil-based art.

The opposite of an anime character would be... what? It's just a drawing style, right? All this anti-anime verbiage seems irrelevant.
