  1. I've been satisfied with most of the KS games I've contributed to, but then I was fairly conservative in my choices and the amount of my contributions. For Owlcat I thought about contributing but then decided not to, more because of general political reasons (Russian election meddling) than for the game itself. I'll probably still buy it down the road.
  2. I can tell Trump's reaching over for a grab...
  3. I think it's just the coolness factor. Manned space "exploration" has primarily been an exercise in national prestige. We've already been to the Moon and there's nothing cool about being the 13th person to land there. Scientifically though, there's a lot of excellent reasons. Unfortunately, it's just too darn expensive to fund purely science missions to the Moon at the moment.
  4. I'm a little curious about something: does a order to the U.S. military posted on twitter by the lunatic in chief carry any legal authority? Can his twitterness post a command to launch a military strike from there?
  5. Ravens OL John Urschel, 26, retires abruptly, two days after CTE study. http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20170808/baltimore-ravens-offensive-lineman-john-urschel-retires-abruptly A very smart man makes a very smart move. I had heard his math colleagues had been urging him to retire from football.
  6. Ok. So? Do we have "funny" police now on this forum?
  7. You meet a two-headed dragon philosopher named Habibah that is obsessed with mirrors and cats. You can avoid a fight by supplying him with a pouch of snuff and giving him your favorite pet.
  8. Well, if it's required, I volunteer to chip my middle finger. 'Cause waving that thing at the company scanners every day will almost make it worthwhile.
  9. i'm with you on this. it's weird i can either wear a cloak or a necklace. why not both? it's weird. but it's great if they are finally separating it out! Well, why can I wear only two rings? I have ten fingers. And I am sure more than one ring will fit on each finger. The explanation usually given in D&D is "magical interference" caused by wearing too many magic rings in close proximity. In the end though it's all just a balancing mechanic.
  10. I think it's part of Far Eastern mythology. But there's always Gedo senki.
  11. No anchovies, extra cheese.
  12. Fun rumor: Trump is going to order all government employees to be implanted with an RFID chip for tracking purposes.
  13. Yes, I agree. Those are hopeless -- the riser placement is all wrong. In a decade or two that'll be a death trap.
  14. Actually I'd prefer that the exceptional fights (such as dragons) be unique and memorable; not Skyrim main quest-like where I felt like I was constantly fighting dragons.
  15. There's more to it than just numbers. Look up combined arms tactics some time. The whole can be stronger than the sum of its parts. Larger numbers allow more sophisticated tactics, which makes combat more interesting... and challenging.
  16. I always thought that allowing respec was a bit daft. What's the point of allowing choice if there are no consequences? At least provide a plausible in-game mechanism for it... like cipher mind surgery... or Futurama-style brain slugs.
  17. Well it's not so much about what a Wizard can and can't do with magic. It's about what two different Wizards operating with independent aims and means can do. Remember the miscibility rules from the old style D&D?
